morning OT
I'm off to Bristol this morning. I'm assuming based on b3tans in or from Bristol that it's a wretched hive of scum and villainy, so have engaged a native guide.

What are you up to today?
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 10:53, 78 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I'm luring cheeky fucking West Brom supporters into a false sense of security
Before kicking the shit out of them at Bristol Temple Meads and then sending them home with a new found respect for the West Country.

I like my odds.

I'd like to be recovering from last night..
..but my wife has other ideas. She can be a right Torquemada sometimes.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 10:59, Reply)
I did drink a bit much myself last night.
I have some hula hoops and watered down squash - sorry, vitamin water - to restore me by lunchtime.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 11:09, Reply)
I'm waiting for the washing machine to finish so I can hang up the laundry and
*sigh* go into work.

In the meantime, however, I have just verified the exciting fact that I was told yesterday:
The introduction to the late Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" sounds like the Wonder Stuff's "Size of a Cow" being played by a sad ghost.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 11:51, Reply)
what work?
Are you thesis-ing?
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 12:04, Reply)
I am
Or at least I should be. Bloody machine seems to be taking forever to do its thing...
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 12:18, Reply)

The actual day is tomorrow
But I thought better of organising any celebratory shindig on a school night.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 12:26, Reply)
well
happy birthday for tomorrow, old bean.

I am looking mournfully at the amount of sorting out I must do
I have too much stuff and I am going to have to move it all very shortly.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 12:24, Reply)
Bake instead!

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 12:43, Reply)
Then bring it to me

I've bought 8 dollar shoes, mum's birthday present, watched BSG and gone to the movies with a couple of girlfriends.
all in all - a good day.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 12:43, Reply)
i come out of the station and get a text from jeff
I'm at Temple Meads. To the right of the exit, I'm the black dude with the natty dreads.

I go up to a random bloke and introduce myself... Jeff is standing NEXT to that guy.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 12:50, Reply)
I bet he did it for a laugh.

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 12:52, Reply)

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 14:27, Reply)
fortunately not
bloke looked rather freaked out as I repeated jeffs real name increasingly loudly and approached him with hand oytstretched.

fair play, he got me drunk and got me to the ground and I didn't get stabbed once.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 14:57, Reply)
and Jeff tagged along

After much searching, I had to go to Croydon to pick up a shirt.
It's literally the coolest shirt in the world. Off to a mate's in a bit to sit in his ace garden, soak up the sun and chain smoke. Was supposed to go to Holborn later but I can't be arsed. Will do it tomorrow.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 13:13, Reply)
Today I shall be food shopping
and tidying the pit that is our dwelling place. Then making fajitas and spicy potato wedges later on.

On the plus side I got a letter from my former employers this morning notifying me that I've overpaid tax to the tune of nearly £200 over the last three years, so I'm due a rebate. Woo!
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 13:29, Reply)
I got eyed up by a blonde last night.
More fool her.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 13:38, Reply)
I got shortlisted with one of my photos last night, which is OK
my friend left earlier today than I thought and now I have no idea what to do with myself today

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 14:15, Reply)
About a pint of bacardi ...

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 14:17, Reply)
oops

I was up at half six pretending to be Squidward Tentacles.
Since then I've been to Hackney City Farm, an adventure playground (are they still called that?) where I had to face away from my daughter on the swings so she could kick me up the arse at the apex of her swing (about thirty times), I've designed a new monster called 'Crab Monster', watched 'Karate Island', cleaned my bathroom, put some washing on and had a gigantic reefer.

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 16:31, Reply)
I do now.
I love Big Daddy Kane. Really getting into some of MC Lyte's stuff as well. The comments on 99% of these videos sum it all up for me. All this stuff, especially in the early 80s, used to be so artistically decent. Rappers carrying the beat as opposed to riding it. Now it's just depressing. Chris Rock sums it up well; www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcqJDDhoUlc
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 16:36, Reply)
This will blow your head off

It's just ridiculously good.
The top comment sums it up again. I might get that book How to Rap actually, you read it?
This has been getting a lot of play time as well lately; www.youtube.com/watch?v=KutXyPEEbQs

Sadly no puff.

Mother in law there yet? Or is that tomorrow?
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:31, Reply)
Tomorrow.
Plenty of time left to wake up in a panic ten minutes before they are due to arrive and run around with Febreze and 'Cif' Bathroom.

No getting "accidentally" trolleyed tonight!
Well, within reason.

I like Kool G Rap and Divine Styler.
I fucking love hip hop culture.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:23, Reply)
Kool G Rap's 'Ill Street Blues' is incredible.
DJ Polo was shit, as was Eric B. In both cases the 'DJ' bankrolled the venture and was actually a drug dealer laundering money/vanity project, like how Eazy E funded NWA. Rakim's job nearly went to Freddy Foxx, fact fans. This is also, fact fans if you're still with me, how Barry White started his musical career.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:36, Reply)
barry white founded NWA to start his musical career?

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:49, Reply)
Kool G Rap was so good he released a demo as his first single.
It's called, err, 'It's A Demo'.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:40, Reply)
Oh Monts, you make me sad, you spend a beutiful day with your darling daughter, the love of your life, the fruit of your looms, you create a picture of idealic happiness... and then a desire to get compos mentis, to experiance pure oblivion.
Ya' gotta feel, before ya' can heal.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:09, Reply)
nothing, I've been up for an hour and I'm already bored

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 16:40, Reply)
Why don't you go out and do something less boring instead?

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:18, Reply)
because friends are out of town
No fuel in my car, no money
So I am curling my hair
And I might bake a cake
Then I will probably drink myself into a stupor
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:51, Reply)
What sort of cake?

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:53, Reply)
chocolate

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:23, Reply)
I have been vindicated.
Stood my ground and won.

*slaps on back*
Nice one!

Any money involved?
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:27, Reply)
nope.
Just saw off some Bullshit allegations.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:28, Reply)
I believed in you all along.
Those pole-vaulting club IDIOTS have no fucking idea.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:31, Reply)
Nah, just the respect that proving you CAN take a pole-vaulting pole up the arse after all gets you.

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:31, Reply)
And that, old bean, is something that money simply cannot buy.
I have directed you to Guns Blazing by Unkle featuring Kool G Rap before, have I not?
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:35, Reply)
I would refer you to
Arkell vs Pressdram.
(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:36, Reply)
I think I'd better direct you to the nearest anus surgeon, and quick-smart.

(, Sat 30 Jul 2011, 17:37, Reply)
