I used to never shut up on here about a year ago
Then I quit my job (got diagnosed with stress and anxieties by the doc, and at 20 years old didn't bode well) and thankfully now do something where I don't have to sit at a desk punching in numbers and letters where the draw of looking at B3ta rather than doing work is so alluring.

Anyone else made some life changes that have made them much happier?

Alt: Anyone notice I'd gone? No? Didn't think so :(

Hello Wehttamamamanamaanman, I'm so sorry to hear that you had a tough time of it.
Around the same time I was also diognosed with Stress and Anxiety, and have had it pretty much since, but I'm on some new tablets now which are soo much better, I haven't felt a crushing anxiety in weeks now. I think if I could remove something negative from my life, it would be my crippling lack of self worth, I'd totally be up to my nuts in guts without it.

I'm very sorry I didn't notice you go, did you post on /offtopic back then? If it was the main QOTW, then that would explain why I missed you. I'm sure you're a very nice bloke though, someone who _is_ worth getting to know, and can bring brightness in the darkness that threatens to sneek into my daily life.

Tell me, if you don't mind, how do you like your eggs in the morning?
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 8:35, Reply)
I like mine with a smile.

(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 8:38, Reply)
I like mine with a runnyish yolk and solid whites, poached, on an english muffin, with hollandase sauce, and some smoked salmon....
... and after having a massive orgy. Or a small orgy. What constitutes as an orgy? I'd say 4 people, 3 and it's a threesome, 2 is just dull and borring, 1 is sad and pathetic. Yup, 4 people for an orgy, 6 for a 'huge orgy'.
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 8:41, Reply)
It is said that some people like theirs with a kiss
But I like mine with bacon, sausage, beans, hash browns, black pudding and toast

p.s. I can't work out if you're taking the piss or coming on to me :s
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 8:41, Reply)
I like hash browns a lot, them with the egg yolk are my best bits of a breakfast.
Have you ever tried these? www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Mr-Raks-Mini-Potato-Latkes/25287011

They're totally unbeleavably awesome, like mini hash browns the size of 5 50ps stacked up on each other, more surface area so you get more crispy bits. Them with some bacon and eggs are AMAZING. I reckomend these rather than being mentally ill.

P.S - I'm not sure, I'm in a possitive mood, so I'm getting confused between sarcasm and enphusiasm.
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 8:45, Reply)
That last word... my god.

They look like crispy potato cubes
And they are very nice. Goddammit! I'm hungry now!

It's ok, I'm not mentally ill anymore (though I'm sure many would beg to differ), though I do still get a small feeling of anxiety if I see something on tv that involves sitting in an office at a pc. No office jobs for me ever again methinks

P.s. Ah, ok. I'll take it that you were trying to be nice
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 8:54, Reply)
They are, with oniony bits in them too. I'm going to buy some this weekend and have them with eggs and bacon and HP Guinness Sauce.
That's good, I'm pleased you're fixed, what was it about sitting at a desk that made you feel so bad? I was wondering this morning, when you get scenes like this (person sitting at desk) in the movies, if I had such an amazing view in my office, I'd make my desk face the window. Seems like a big waste not to face the window with a view like that.
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 9:00, Reply)
Well...
I was on a training scheme thing. I was expected to do a degree, an NVQ, something called PMDY (project management developing you) and do my full time office job at the same time. So the workload was petty big. But that wasn't the main problem. I also, as part of the scheme, had moved placement (all within the company as the whole thing was funded by them) 5 times in 2 years so I never really knew what I was doing. So I had that first day in a new job feeling nearly every day. And most days it felt that what they asked me to do had no significance in making the company money. I don't think anyone would have noticed if I'd clocked in, gone home and then come back to clock out. It was soul destroying. And that's why I went mental

If I could magic-wand you over here and cook you nice things and get you seen too with some tablets and make our way through every eppisode of Heroes and make sure you're alright and then set you up with some nice easy enjoyable work.... I'd do it in a heartbeat.

You take care of yourself, don't turn the booze, please don't. If you need something to take the edge off it, try getting some relivent tablets from a doctor.

There is a lot I love about america, a hell of a lot, Americans have so much to be proud off.....
.... but I think it's f'cking disgusting, mentally repulisve, that you can't get medical treatment because of your bank-balance.... and that there are people out there campaigning and lobying, in order to make sure you don't have a nationalised health service. I barely think those people are human, and it's the fundamentalist christians and conservatives in your country that is stopping it being great.... but there is nothing anyone can do about that.

Do you know anyone who can sort you some under-the-counter stuff? A few diazipams in the evening might help you nod off, but I'm not a doctor. I have to run off to work now, but maybe you can take the dovay into the living room, put on some telly, get the dog to rest his head on your lap, make yourself a hot chocolate and zone-out a bit.

If you need something to take the edge off it, just for now, just to stop it hurting a bit, just until the pain goes away....
.... then they're really good, there is a reason why they're prescribed. Yes, there is addiction issues with them, but there is a reason why Doctors don't ever recomend a half-bottle of vodka.
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 9:59, Reply)
actually, it's very hard to get perscription pain pills here
typically you've got to go to the doctor, have an xray or mri or something to prove you need them, in the time being they'll set you up with some nice ibuprophen
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 10:02, Reply)
These arne't pain pills, I wouldn't ever recommend them for mental issues, that's a dangerous road.

(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 10:03, Reply)
sorry, I should've just said perscription pills instead of pain pills
you've got to do a load of tests before you can get anything
(, Wed 24 Aug 2011, 10:08, Reply)
The sinick in me says that the reason that is, the more tests you do, the more you have to pay for the tests...
... the more money they make, and _then_ they make the money on the pills on top of that. AND, and, they're doing it under the guise of caring for you. They're right that they shouldn't be the first port of call for the "Wah', I'm feeling a bit down today", but after 11 days or whatever it is, that isn't what you're describing.

Horrible system.
