It's FRIDAY! That means it's the weekend! Man, I'd be excited if, y'know, it was exciting.
What are you, the humble offtopicers without a social life, going to do with your evening? I've already eaten pork scratchings, pissed about on the internet and shouted at my mum. The night is young!
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:06, 264 replies, latest was 14 years ago)
i ate a pizza and now I've had delicious cider
and there's a film on. woo!
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:09, Reply)
Oh god, don't talk to me about cider, I think I'm developing a phobia of it as we speak.

this one's yummy yum

So was the Weston's I had the other day, fucking destroyed me though :(

(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:23, Reply)
I'm going to have a joint and the early night i've been after for weeks
I'll probably have half and stay up ridiculously late, knowing me. Either way, not very rock n roll.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:12, Reply)
A joint sounds awesome right about now, but it wouldn't get me to sleep, my brain buzzes crazily if I try to sleep on a buzz.

(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:15, Reply)
Mine doesn't
it just gives me the thinking equivalent of white noise and makes me sleepy. Can't hack my drugs in my old age anymore, haha.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:20, Reply)
Pffft, whippersnapper.

(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:23, Reply)
Getting old Noel, getting old
the only reason it doesn't bother me is that everyone else is, too.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:26, Reply)
I don't even really know how old you are, I've only recently started feeling like I'm ageing a bit, only because my body's started creaking and cracking in new places.
I still feel like a 20-year old. Maybe I need to grow up a bit eh?
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:29, Reply)
26.
all downhill to 30 now...
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 20:23, Reply)
I has wine and cider and a film after unreported world on the telly.
I'm seriously thinking of getting RIP tickets for download.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:12, Reply)
Wass the film?

(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:15, Reply)
Sucker punch.
I got it from Lovefilm to watch to see if it would be ok for my eleven year old nephew to see and just found out he's seen it at his dads.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:16, Reply)
I saw the first half of that, it's pretty awesome
although I was drunk. The whole of the last six weeks have been a bit of a blur, in honesty.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:17, Reply)
Understandable.
I'm drinking to much too. Not because I have to but because I want to. Stopping it in the new year though. I'm letting myself self destruct a little.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:18, Reply)
I can't really get much closer to self-destruct, I feel fucking awful at the moment.
I'm supposed to be at a table with kiddo and 14 friends and their kids tomorrow for dinner, I can neither afford it or face putting on the mask for three hours. I'll do it anyway, it'll feel good afterward I'm sure.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:21, Reply)
You'll be ok.
More often than not, the thought of doing something like that is always worse than actually doing it.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:23, Reply)
I keep telling myself that, hoping it'll sink in.

(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:23, Reply)
Does kiddo know how you feel about the whole thing?

(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:27, Reply)
About going out for the dinner?
Yeah I just told her, but I said I know I'll enjoy it and fundamentally that's true. I don't get to show Sophie off very often at all, never in fact, and many of these people haven't seen her since she was a toddler. She'll enjoy herself I'm sure, and that'll be enough for me.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:30, Reply)
I'm sure you'll hold it together for her.
And you never know, you might actually enjoy yourself for a few minutes. Having had my fair share of 'black dog days', I know that even that much is quite a victory.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:34, Reply)
I will enjoy myself, I know it.
It's my inner-hermit trying to take over. I'll mtfu eventually.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:41, Reply)
How do, /OT.
I've had tea and a nice long play with the dog, and now I'm settled down to watch telly, while coughing my guts up. Fun times.

(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:22, Reply)
I no, rite?
This is way more important than anybody else being ill, on account of how it's me.

In other news, now my head is a bit more clear, I'm taking a big dose of MTFU and getting on with it.

On the way home I went to the french deli that's attached to a michaline star resturant and bought..
- some amazing really really soft almost liquid goat's cheese
- some amazing really really good (but will take 3-4 days left out to mature) cannon bear
- some gelee de piment despelette (like a chili jelly)
- some mouse de foie de cannard (mouse of duck liver)

And I already got at home some other amazing cheese, and I've got some deli meats too.

They also had Violit Syrup, Tea, jelly and honey. I'm getting some of that when I get paid so I can make really nice...ermmm.... maybe macaroons? Voilit macroons would be well lush. I'll do the sorbet again too.

BUT, but, and this is where it falls down short, I wanted some fresh crusty bread from the posh Paul's Pettisiery but they ran out of white crusty, so I'm going to have to wait until tomo to have my posh french grub, because its' really not worth eating tonight if the experiance (and eating this will be an 'experiance' as well as a meal) will be so much better.

So tonight I'm gonna see what I've got in the fridge, if I remember correctly I got some marks'n'sparks nibbles, pork belly with bbq or something, I'll have that maybe. Or I've got some butternut squash ravioli from waitrose that I can boil up with some roasted pine nuts and some melted butter.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:19, Reply)
It took me over 2 hours to get into work today, and about an hour and 45 mins to get home though =(

You really do misspell the weirdest words.
Is it deliberate? Are you showing your utter contempt for the conformity of 'spelling'?
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:39, Reply)
Cannon Bear was one I made up a little while ago when I couldn't think up the real spelling and nothing I wrote made any sense in my head at all.
I really don't think of it, and if I have to re-write a word 3 times because the spelling doens't look right, I just go with whatever my head thinks and hope people can grab it by the context.
(, Fri 18 Nov 2011, 19:50, Reply)
I will cherish it forever

Green Lantern was alright, probably wouldn't watch it again but it was a good waste of ninety minutes.

Thor's alright too, it made me laugh in a few places and the effects are supreme.
I've got the second half of Alice in Wonderland to watch. I saw the first half the other night. I was drunk, though. I'm sensing a theme here.

I've just plumbed new depths of absent-minded stupidity.
Got home about 6 o'clock and found I didn't have my keys on me, so I rang the blow moulding supervisor at work, found out I'd left them in the door of the locker and went back to pick them up (the locker room is next door to the supervisor's office.) Good thing blow moulding is staffed 24/7 or else I'd have been homeless till Monday.

For this reason, I'm shattered and will probably fall asleep for several hours later.
