Sorry, but that thread went from dull to duller.
I'm going on a 'Ghost walk' tonight, not becaue I believe in ghosts but because it's around an interesting bit of london and a mate's going and it beats sitting at home sobbing and lonely.

Do you believe in ghosts? Do you know anyone who does?

Alt: Fuck off back to the dull thread if you need an alt

Not sure I believe in ghosts as such but I believe in weird things being visible that people perceive as ghosts
EDIT:

Also UFO's
(, Tue 13 Dec 2011, 15:57, Reply)
interesting.....
Please go into more detail so I may either mock you or regain respect for you.

Edit: what about them?
(, Tue 13 Dec 2011, 15:58, Reply)
Not sure, to be honest
Maybe memories being played out in front of your eyes?

AS for UFO's. There is a lot more flying around than we are aware of, so most things will be of terrestrial origin
(, Tue 13 Dec 2011, 16:01, Reply)
if there's more flying around than we are aware of, how do you come to be aware of it?

she'd prolly go on one of those and get really scared and i'd have to reassure her, with my willy. cos thats waht couples do

Not sure about Ghosts, but I've been in some places that have given me the creeps.
And others that should have done, but feel fine.

I went on a ripper walk in London, yonks ago. I expect some of the places have been re-developed since then.

Acording to the blerb:
Weaving together ghost stories with local history and folklore, this exhilarating walk takes in haunted pubs, a female gladiator, Cross Bones Graveyard and the spookiest stretch of the Thames.

Led by local writer John Constable, author of The Southwark Mysteries and Secret Bankside - Walks In The Outlaw Borough.
(, Tue 13 Dec 2011, 16:22, Reply)
Actually
Cross Bones Graveyard - or at least the story of it - is quite interesting. The whole area was full of dens of iniquity and was a general haven for thieves and vagabonds, so I can imagine if the guy tells you all about that kind of thing there could be a fun evening in it!

I swear this one is true, on my life this, I'm not saying it was a ghost or whatever, but it's 100% true.
Exactly one year to the hour after my Dad died, I was out in the field in front of our house in cyprus. He started his death there, got stung by a bee which set off the heart attack. Anyway, I was out there on my own. Ma', Uncle Tone (dad's bro), Debs (Dad's nice) and Norma (Family BFF) were in the house, chilling out, doing a bit of cooking, this that and the other. And I hear my uncle shout "Paul, come on in, dinner's ready" and I yelled back "I'll be 2 minutes". I turn around and I see these hummingbirds, about 20 of them. They're very rare and hard to spot, they're darting around the tree. So I spend about 30 minutes photographing them darting in and out of the flowers, got some really good shots. I'd never seen them before. When I was done, I go back into the flat, Tone had been asleep for a good hour or soo. He never shouted out my name.... but then it clicked, Tone has the same voice as my Dad. I heard it enough in order for me to shout back.

I donno what that was, but to me it was quite profound, I heard the voice enough to reply to it, and if it wans't Tone, then maybe possibly it was Dad.

(, Tue 13 Dec 2011, 16:32, Reply)
I didn't mean it in a negative way Gonz
But, if I'm honest, it makes you a less credible witness in sketchy areas like this.
(, Tue 13 Dec 2011, 16:36, Reply)
The japanese have an expresion "S/he lies like an eye whitness", because if you ask 5 people who saw 1 event, they'll all give different stories.

Very true, eywitness testimony is some of the worst evidence you can get apparently.
and yet it's the most listened to.

Interestingly most of the most 'solid' evidence for ghosts is eyewitness testimony.
(, Tue 13 Dec 2011, 16:43, Reply)
I don't believe in ghosts, right
Until about 3 in the morning when I can't sleep and the house is creaking in strange ways. I know that it's not a ghost, or a dreadful monster on its way to eat my brain or my goolies, but that doesn't stop my brain from going "JESUS CHRIST, DiT, THIS REALLY IS BROWN TROUSERS TIME!"
