Yeah that weekend was excellent.
I feel perfectly fine this morning, which is a worry.

High points too numerous to mention but taking my kid to the cinema for the first time* was one, as was the epic boozeup on Saturday night, with some advanced homosexuals from the internet.

What about you?

Alt: I saw some shit in the Metro this morning about the 'greatest animated character of all time' - I read it, then I re-ead it, but no. No mention whatsoever of MR PEAVLEY. For fuck's sake. No mention either of The Great Grape Ape. Tsk. And people wonder why I am so depressed about modern society.

*when we went in, the woman said 'enjoy your film' to which my daughter replied 'enjoy your cash register'. Awww.

'advanced' homosexuals?
I take it that this nomenclature places them above mere 'practicing' homosexuals?

In other news - a bostin' weekend! Cleared rubble etc from G/F's garden (boo hiss) followed by a nomtastic fillet steak dinner on Saturday (woo yay hoopla).
Twang club road trip to the Red Arrow pub in Lutterworth on Sunday followed by a mahoosive chinese meal! All good.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 8:31, Reply)
That's right. This lot are SERIOUS benders.
These guys are no mere weekend chutneys or public school flirters - they're heavy duty, round-the-clock bummers.

Highlights of the weekend:
A superb curry on Friday.

Asking Stunned if he was going bald or simply born with a massive cow lick.

Meeting THE Mr Internet.

Realising that Monty dyes his hair. The big vain poofter.

Having my daughter & wife back from Scotland.

Cooking and eating an enormous roast meal last night.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 8:52, Reply)
Oh yeah I'd forgotten about the hair-dyeing accusation.
Who started that one? Was it you?
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 8:53, Reply)
Of course it was.
I always knew you were "just for men". Now we know that's with two meanings.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 8:56, Reply)
Rather good thank you, my sister gave birth to a little girl on Friday evening, that was nice
I then got drunk and enjoyed a spliff or two with my housemate.

Saturday - Did very little for most of the day, went out in the evening, felt sick, came home, carried on drinking.

Sunday - Went for breakfast with friends, watched the football, LOLed most heartily at the final score, headed home, watched a terrible film, went to bed.

Alt: I'll guess they'll have gone for either Mickey Mouse or Bart Simpson. I'd go for Homer over Bart though. Also, it might just be me showing my (lack of) age, but I have no idea who you are talking about.

Also grape Naked

Highlights (strap yourselves in for an exciting ride)
Starting a new shelf for records (woo! already a quarter full)
Left in charge of my two kids on Saturday afternoon, taking them to the pub (it was an educational visit, alright?)
Delicious curry on Saturday night.
Er...
That's it.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 8:58, Reply)
Cool story bro.

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 9:24, Reply)
I know
You may envy my exciting life.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 9:27, Reply)
That sounds more exciting than mine.
I took my Dad to the football on Saturday. It's weird not swearing at football though. 'You're fu...forever doing that'... 'Get away ref you cu...can't let that happen'.

And apart from spending more time than is healthy on a facebook page in memory of 'John Barton Off of Emmerdale', the only other highlight was Being Human last night.

Alt: So what was the greatest animated character of all time? I don't read Metro.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 9:02, Reply)
No idea. Not Mr Peavley.

WHO ARE YOU????

(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 11:51, Reply)
Morning.
Yeah, I did what you did without the cinema. It was nice to see Jeffrey and meet Battered (the hairline has always been like that! Bastard). Great to see Bartleby, who is now on holiday, which is massively unfair.

Speaking of Murdoch, one of Jamie Bulgers killers is due to pick up £50k from News International because his phone was hacked. JB's mother was saying he should not receive the money. Do you agree? I think it's none of her business and if his phone was hacked then he gets the compo.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 9:53, Reply)
Plus he only killed a scouser ffs
He should have got an OBE, not 'bird'.

It wasn't enough. Not by a long shot.

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:28, Reply)
eh? who are you to decide the length of sentences?
like i said, they was kids and they got punished, they'll be punished for the rest of their lives. whats it to do with you?
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:40, Reply)
Just my opinion.
I am sure you would want them to get more than 8 years if they murdered one of your children.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 11:09, Reply)
i wouldn't want any children in prison for that long
at that age they need something other than locking up, and victims aren't the in the best position to choose sentences
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 11:37, Reply)
8 years for murder?

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:30, Reply)
Of a scouser AA - a scouser.

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:34, Reply)
Makes no difference to me Monty, even though it was a scouser from a vile family
8 years for premeditated murder is not enough
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:35, Reply)
What about if they were French?

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:37, Reply)
I'd have to check with the RSPCESM

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:41, Reply)
premeditated? they planned it first?
here i thought it was just a case of taking some little boy for a walk, beating him up, shoving batteries up his arse and then beating him to death
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:41, Reply)
They tried to take another child first, took Bulger as the opportunity arose
They may not have planned to kill him, but they planned to kill someone, I'd say.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:43, Reply)
not neccelsarily, i had a fight with a mate once when i was that age, there were knives involved
and some considerable violence, but i don't think anyone involed really wanted to hurt anyone
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:45, Reply)
There's a difference between a fight and two boys taking a younger boy away from his mother, pelting him with stones, throwing paint over him, etc.

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:50, Reply)
those inhuman BASTARDS

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:52, Reply)
I'm not frothing at the mouth, nor am I the sort of person who believes they should be ripped apart
However, I do believe that they should have served their full sentences.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:59, Reply)
well i'm sure someone more experienced and qualified than you made the best decision

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 11:01, Reply)
More experienced and qualified, definitely.
Correct? IMHO, no-one who has committed a serious crime should get time off for 'good behaviour'
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 11:08, Reply)
i'm sure there were other factors
you appear to ahve read heresay in a tabloid newspaper and taken it as fact
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 11:10, Reply)
I'll hold my hands up and admit I've been misled here
It appears that was a quote from Denise Bulger, not Lord Woolf.

However, a quote from Lord Woolf described the boys as being “genuinely extremely remorseful”. Obvious question, but so what? Feeling bad that you've done something doesn't stop the fact that you did it in the first place.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 11:19, Reply)
i'm going to stop arguing here because you're clearly an expert
you obviously know the full ins and outs of the whole deal and i know nothing

your definitely not coming across as someone who has picked up a few bits here and there and has made an unbiased decision
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 11:21, Reply)
Never claimed to be an expert
However, it doesn't take much to find out facts about the case.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 11:25, Reply)
you don't know man, you weren't there
at best you'll get a watered down, privately approved version of the full facts

why didn't you jsut say this 10 posts ago?

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 11:36, Reply)
a murder they did when they were what, ten? i think the sentences were fair

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:41, Reply)
Premeditated, they clearly knew what they did was wrong, yet did it anyway.
Fact is Quinten, they didn't even serve their sentence. If they had, I think public opinion would be rather different.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:42, Reply)
doesn't premedititaed mean planned or am i being thick here?
i dunno how lkong they served vs how long their sentence was, but i'm still fairly sure they will never stop being punished for it
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:44, Reply)
It depends on whether you are looking for retribution or rehabilitation.

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:44, Reply)
i don't think rehab comes into it, it is punishment, and they'll never get away fromt hat

(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:45, Reply)
I have absolutely no response to this
Well done, Sir.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 10:46, Reply)
What they did was really bad, right, but aint' they done their time yet?
I'm sure they've done more time than most murders do.
(, Mon 20 Feb 2012, 9:59, Reply)

i don't think crims should get any compo for anything ever, except maybe after they done there time if they're reformed and that

except that i bought some FIT boots in russell and bromley, and was all set to wear them with my new slutty little skirt on sat night. put them on - silly cow had given me one size 6 and one size 8. i considered limping with one foot slithering around in a boat-sized boot, but no.

apparently adidas now sell trainers in different sizes for people who genuinely do have differently sized feet though. i think this is a good idea.
