Ok so this guy is a racist cunt and I have no sympathy, but I can't help but think that people say racist stuff on sickipedia/youtube/etc everyday with no consequences. But when people threaten to blow up an airport or make racist jokes on Twitter they get prosecuted for it.

If people started to lodge formal complaints against sickipedia, or against racist posts by youtube users, the offending parties probably wouldn't last very long. By contrast, on here, there's a tacit understanding that it's all very tongue-in-cheek and we're here to share the coarser end of our sense of humour: we're all offensive and nobody gets offended. I'd like to think if the guy in question had turned up and posted the same stuff here, it wouldn't be long before he was either flamed off the board or belted with a mod's ban hammer.

I do wonder whether he's been sent down because the remarks were about such a widely publicised story. I can't help but suspect the sentence wouldn't have been as harsh if he'd been pulled up for making similarly nasty remarks about a comparatively unknown youtube video.
