Regional accents.
Do you think these are an impairment to advancement? I've been asked to speak "less |Northern" before, but as I was brought up in Yorkshire, and live in Manchester, it's a bit awkward.
Alt. Film release you're looking forward to this year? Mine is the new Batman one.

To be honest I think
that regional accents are a great part of the varity of the UK, I however come from Essex but was taught RP and now live Up't North so my accent stands out like a sore thumb

I don't think anyone should be asked to change their accent. If I'm talking to a Northerner it's not fair for it not to be obvious what I'm getting myself into.

I don't think my accent is an impairment to advancement, no.
My laziness and accompanying awful work ethic, however, are.

Alt: I kind of want to see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I have no idea why. I think it looks funny.

You look funny.

in this area I believe I should ask if you have some kind of newsletter to which I could subscribe?
And there aren't any films I'd actively look forward to. I think I'd seriously need to take a long, hard look at what had gone wrong with my life if something projected onto a screen in a darkened room was something that I'd consider devoting any significant level of emotion towards until I actually got to the cinema.
(, Fri 29 Jun 2012, 10:40, Reply)
I was excited about 13 Assassins.
Not excited enough to actually go and see it, you understand.
(, Fri 29 Jun 2012, 10:43, Reply)
I like good films. I dislike bad films
I'm just not going to waste advanced emotions on something that doesn't involve interaction with, y'know, other actual human beings. It's like being excited weeks in advance about a new carpet.
(, Fri 29 Jun 2012, 10:47, Reply)
There are almost no good films.

Billy Franks - The Sacred Art of Leaving
Tammy Wynette - D.I.V.O.R.C.E
Blur - No Distance Left to Run
Freda Payne - Band of Gold

Blur? sure they're ok but i've never heard of that song
isn't band of gold something to do with prostitutes?
(, Fri 29 Jun 2012, 11:04, Reply)
Billy Franks is a fairly unknown singer-songwriter
but he writes some quality lyrics.

If you need to depress the fuck out of someone about a relationship, no distance left to run is the absolute winner.

and I believe band of gold the TV program was about hookers. The song however is about the end of a marriage.

(, Fri 29 Jun 2012, 11:15, Reply)
Therein being the problem
If people just went to see it and judged it on its own merits as, well, y'know, just a fucking film, they would have thought it pretty good. But, no, they have to obsessively hype it months in advance because it happens to be vaguely connected to some other film that was a bit good in the past. Why compare it to Alien? it makes no sense any more than it would to go "well, you know, it's OK, but it's not as good as "it's a wonderful life" so it's SHIT.

If people weren't fucking idiots they could manage to enjoy things far better.
