The other thread had too much testosterone
football, cars, pretty girls and sun dried tomatoes.

So, how about you tell me something you've made recently, since no one cares about my adventures in glass.

alt: can you sew?

altalt: crocheting or knitting

I grew courgettes. And Kale
and I killed a lot of caterpillers. But you probably knew this already.
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:28, Reply)
I've grown both those before
got shit tonnes of kale, but only a few tiny courgettes.
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:30, Reply)

The cider has to be kept in the fridge over night before opening it.
Otherwise it's like a sticky volcano.

I think it's about setting bonus levels and shit.
"Provide proactive and reactive complex data analysis in terms remuneration, reward, benefits and job evaluation policies"
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:32, Reply)
I'd imagine you'll have to spend time
Analysing salary levels for similar jobs with different companies just so the employer can get away with paying you as little as possible without anyone leaving.
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:57, Reply)
Ahhh, I think there's something about proving/disproving if the higher ups have reached the thresholds in their bonus contracts.
I think that will be fun. "Nope, you're 6 points off, fahk off"

I have taken a long weekend and have spent the afternoon using a petrol-powered rotavator to re-landscape our back garden. Extremely tiring and a lot more still to so.

are you landscaping it into tellytubby land?

They certainly don't, because the engine only sends power to one wheel.

(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:32, Reply)
I apologise for not giving your jewellery more attention,
it's very pretty, you should be proud of your work.

I'm not much of a maker, more of a fixer/tinkerer, unless you count making music, which I don't do anywhere near enough of anymore.

I can sew enough to patch up things, but no knitting or crocheting I'm afraid. I did briefly try french knitting, but it was a bit gay.
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:30, Reply)
ha, it's OK, I was just beakering
music counts. French knitting is...french
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:31, Reply)
yeah,
i had a long string of knitted wool, beyond that, I couldn't see it as worthwhile.
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:35, Reply)
Same here when I did it
mind you, yesterday there was a woman who had used french knitting to make a necklace, so I guess it has a use somewhere
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:37, Reply)
who the fuck wears jewellery made out of wool?

(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:41, Reply)
if you get the right yarn, it works nicely
Having said that, I also crochet with wire so perhaps you could french knit that too
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:42, Reply)
i really don't believe even the right wool can produce jewellery.

Bazongaloid Superfly would be a good star player name.

In my defence it was in the direct wake of vanpersiegate and I was fragile. But on the other hand he is a tedious prick so I may keep him on ignore for a while longer.

It's that she can't constantly reply to my posts being crazy which is nice.

I use a seamstress if I need something sewing.
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:52, Reply)
wow
I didn't know anyone still went to steamstresses and tailors. I went to one to get the bottom hem of my wedding dress done (because I wanted a good job done of it and it was the only visible seam) but I thought this was an extravagance
(, Thu 16 Aug 2012, 16:54, Reply)
We used one for my bridesmaids' dresses
and mr b3th had some sleeves taken up on a jacket recently for a funeral, because he wanted it done properly, and I would have just used masking tape or something.

I went to a tailor in Feb to get a coat taken in.
I don't do it regularly, but if it's a nice piece of clothing, I will.

Afternoon.
I've been stupidly busy today, and this is the first time I've been able to sit down at my computer. Have I missed any loldrama?
