because they ran at useless times for the enterprise park where lots of people who used buses worked. I also hate that, despite them always being full useful ones were stopped because they didn't get used enough (ie people used weekly tickets).
I don't hate them now because I have a car and there's a bendy bus to town

Except that if I get hammered at Monty's, there's a bus that takes me almost all the way home. I love that bus.
Trains are how I get anywhere further than a couple of miles away. Birmingham or Tottenham, distant lands like that.

and are therefore shit.
Alt: Trains are better, especially if you can wangle a first class ticket. But they're bloody expensive, even if you can't wangle a first class ticket.

It's a 20m walk, which when you're always late in the mornings, is a bitch. And the bus is 5 minuites, and is supposed to come every 10 minuites or whatever, can't remember. So if I dont' see one, I know one will be coming along soon. But sometimes I'm waiting 15 minuites and by then if I only just start walking, i'll now be 35 minuites later than I should be, and there is no point 'cus it'll be along soon, but if I just walked in the first place, I would have gotten there quicker, but I didn't know that at the time. And sometimes it's only like 2 or 3 minuites away and thats alright but it has to go through all the back doubles. But on the way back its alright 'cus there are like 5 different busses I can take if I don't fancy walking and they're all really easy. I think they must go around in circles rather than back'n'forth because there is only one one way and 5 or soo going the other way. I normally get off the bus a stop early so I can have a ciggerette unless I want to pick up a can of fizzy pop, because the shop would be half way between work and the one-early bus stop and if anyone is reading this far then you've got very very good staying power, this isn't leading to anything interesting. So if I light up I'll have to stub the fag out half way through, go into the shop and get my fizzy pop and then light up again, so its not really worth it, so I get off at the right stop, get my fizzy pop, and then just have a fag outside and round the corner. I then make my way up to my desk on the 7th floor of building 2two2 around the back but I go via the kitchen to get a glass of water so I can take some tablets and are you still reading this? I'm not even reading this and I'm writting it. Sometimes on the bus I awnser some emails on my phone so it looks like I've got in earlier than I have done and it looks like I'm on the ball.

Just walked back from the pub, and there are coppers everywhere.
Oxford are playing Swindon in the kickaball, and there is a deep seated rivalry and always trouble.
Plod told me that last time they played the Swindon lot ripped the seats out of the bus on the way home and threw them at Oxford fans.
I knew there was some animosity between us and Swindon, but I've never seen such a large scale police presence in Oxford. I might lock my front door tonight.

To get to work I have to go up a major road which carries traffic between Bradford city centre and the eastbound motorways. Between the city centre and the ring road it's a 3-lane dual carriageway - between the ring road and very edge of town it's a single carriageway. I live a few miles beyond the edge of town.
To make matters worse, there is a large secondary school on that road near the edge of town, so between 7.30-10am and 3-7pm the road is a total logjam and it never fails to bring out the worst in people - queue cutting, angry horns, never giving way even if their lives depended on it, the works.
And it's no use running a car, as I'd be £700/month lighter and still have the same shitty experience.

I don't like pears, much, but perhaps I could make acceptable jam from them

I reckon they'd be OK smothered in delicious apple flavour. Perhaps I could chuck in spices, too

Preferred them when I was younger though, £5 for a weekly ticket, now I have to pay £14, FFS.
Alt: Disliked them far more before I got my rail card.
