Looks like Hammil is in for the next Star Wars.
www.guardian.co.uk/film/2013/feb/21/return-jedi-mark-hamill-luke-skywalker

I actually think these can be good, especially if Old George has an accident and dies in the next few months.

What Films are you looking forward to this year?
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:11, 104 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
A documentary I'm planning to make: Death of a B3tan.
Not sure which one yet.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:12, Reply)
You should do a poll.

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:13, Reply)
Done
Which one of you should I kill?

You appear to have left Rory off your list.
And the Jolly Stunned Giant.

I can't bothered with editing it now.

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 14:01, Reply)
I'm committing suicide on September the 21st.
I'm going to get a really long rope, tie one end to a tree, put the other end round my neck, get in the car and floor the accelerator. Divorcing one's head is this year's wrist slitting.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:16, Reply)
Any chance you can bring it forward by seven months?
Or just say you did, then you can watch this thread become your obituary column

You could probably get it finished by the end of the summer.

I have a top of the range Startac that I use in restaurants, it doesn't even have a vibrate function, let alone a camera!
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:17, Reply)
They'd do well to adapt one of the novels from the expanded universe
Timothy Zahn's stuff is especially good.

Am looking forward to all the obvious stuff - Iron Man 3, Star Trek Into Darkness, and most especially X-Men: Days of Future Past, because I don't see how that can possibly fail to be fucking superb.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:17, Reply)
It could fail to be fucking superb by being fucking shit?

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:18, Reply)
Well yes, but only from a realistic point of view
The comic of the same name is fucking brilliant though. With that source material it would actually be more of an achievement to fuck it up.

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:24, Reply)
So was Fight Club
and Blade Runner
and The Shawshank Redemption

Whereas Mamma Mia; fooking MASSIVE
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:25, Reply)
I watched Blade Runner recently, it's aged really well.
Almost as well as The Black Hole.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:26, Reply)
I saw Dark Star not so long ago
Not only has it aged phenomenally poorly, but you'd still need to be absolutely nutted to make sense of it.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:28, Reply)
I only know a Grateful Dead song of that name I'm afraid.

I only watch films with Robin Williams in

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:41, Reply)
He's up there with Jim Carrey. I love it when he does a funny face and a silly voice!!!!!!!

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:52, Reply)
Carrey's good with the faces and voices but he doesn't have Williams' range of mawkish sentimentality

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 14:02, Reply)
It's up for bluray download, that one.

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:26, Reply)
hmmm, I might take my new 58mb connection for a spin this weekend with that then.

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:28, Reply)
Wizard of Oz, Spiderman 2, Superman, maybe wolverine 2 if that comes out this year, pacific rim.
I don't think X-men: Days of future's past is out this year, but thats the film in development that I most want to see.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:28, Reply)
I don't get excited by films much.
TV series, though... there's a few new seasons / series that I'm looking forward to.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:30, Reply)
I've started watching Sons of Anarchy.
Pretty good.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:31, Reply)
I don't really watch films at the pictures, though I might make an exception with the new Star Trek
just because I'm pretty sure that stacking a spaceship is even more manly than a car chase.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:31, Reply)
They should do a gritty reboot of The Last Starfighter.

(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:33, Reply)
I would fucking love to see that
as long as you remove the "gritty" part. It needs to be tongue-in-cheek or it'll just be aping BSG.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:38, Reply)
I'd have Alex as a druggled crack addict who only plays the game as he's completely divorced from real life.
Maggie is the sole breadwinner. She works in a local truck stop whilst simultaneously taking care of their litter of trailer trash kids. Centauri is a total paedo and Xur is actually an anti-hero, trying to save the degenerate Rylan Star League from its corrupt officials.

Oh yeah.

I just had to do a LOT of Googling.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:42, Reply)
I was going to say
There's an impressive off-the-top-of-your-head knowledge of crap-but-fun 80s Star Wars knockoffs, and then there's that^

Now because I'm a well brought up and affable kind of fellow, I usually keep my opinions to myself - 'why be a bother', I say.
But from time to time in my life things get on top of me and feel compelled to speak out. This is one of those times. What I have to say is not for the faint-hearted - some of you might be shocked by this, but here goes, anyway:

This thread is really shit.
(, Fri 22 Feb 2013, 13:51, Reply)
It's not all bad. It's looking like it's either Al or Dozer that I'll be killing.
