Some would say me, I would say Hartley
Alt: I think I'd buy them all a pint, as I find the whole thing quite funny, but I expect I'm wrong.

ALtAlt: not sure yet, but the local supermarket it doing those Rustlers BBQ rid burgers for £1 each and that's going to be hard to resist.

People will always need pegs/heather/laptops stolen, CQ

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 11:52, Reply)
Well, I'm missing the bit where they've actually done anything illegal.
and seeing a lot of Daily Mail "kick the wogs out" rhetoric. if they've done something illegal, punish them as the law dictates. if they haven't then either leave them be or change the law, either way if they annoy Daily mail readers, good on 'em.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 11:56, Reply)
Possibly the bit about pickpocketing

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:00, Reply)
Dude, shitting openly on the floor, aggressive begging with children,
con tricks and pickpocketing are all frowned upon in Westminster.

Maybe not true in South London but it is there.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:01, Reply)
These are all noble and ancient traditions, you should show some more respect.

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:03, Reply)
*shits openly on floor*

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:05, Reply)
*tuts, but doesn't interfere*

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:09, Reply)
the shops and hotels are right to be upset
if their clientele are put off by it. after all, they are big employers/tax payers/draws for people to come to london and spend money here, and their rights should be protected.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:04, Reply)
why are their "rights" more important than anyone elses?
being a rich cunt doesn't "earn" you greater rights.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:34, Reply)
you've misread that
the businesses have a right to operate. we should protect that as it's good for the country.

nobody has a "right" to pickpocket, however. so the practice should be stopped.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:56, Reply)
Begging and pickpocketing are of course illegal
hence a large police operation in London on July 3rd where those caught were charged in accordance with your advice above.
By the way, your rhetoric about "Everyone who disagrees with me is a racist Daily Mail reader." has no validity as an argument.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:09, Reply)
the problem is, old buddy old pal
that their way of life is a bit parasitic. it depends on other people having money to give them, buy things off them, or be dumb enough to have their pockets picked. if everyone lived like that, we'd all starve.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:12, Reply)
So, to pick up a rather telling part of your statement, people who rely on other people buying things off them are parasites?

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:13, Reply)
it depends
if you pick a freebie wild flower and then try to flog it to someone, then yes
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:16, Reply)
Isn't that just farming?

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:32, Reply)
There really is no point in trying.

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:33, Reply)
Not where I live there isn't, no - there's no fields for miles.

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:35, Reply)
the thing is, if you woke up to find that a group of people had stolen all your vegetables
and pipework and mugged your wife, you'd be ranting along with everyone else. a bleeding heart only bleeds so far, sunshine.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:37, Reply)
I don't think any part of my rant would automatically assume that the crimes had be carried out by a certain group of people becuase of their ethnicity, though
becuase I'm not a racist cunt.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:40, Reply)
hmmmmm
i'd like to say i agree with this. but the reality is, that if a gypsy encampment moved into the area and suddenly things like copper pipes went missing overnight, i would probably draw assumptions. i blame the media, can't possibly be my own fault for that.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:47, Reply)
"Drawing assumptions"
QV Blacks, Jews, "Yardies", "Pakis", women can't (your gripe here).
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:49, Reply)
no, this was on a one very specific point
i wouldn't normally draw assumptions. if you live in london you see so much cuntery from so many different people that all your assumptions tend to fly out of the window
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:52, Reply)
Oh, right.
So you'd just assume it's the blacks, then?

Or the Jews?
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:54, Reply)
ALL OF THEM

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:54, Reply)
So why focus on the Romanians?

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:58, Reply)
Hang on, where am I saying this isn't a problem?
Don't you project yourself onto me. I merely questioned why you felt that on the one hand " they are big employers/tax payers/draws for people to come to london and spend money here, and their rights should be protected" and yet on the other hand you say that people who sell things to other people are parasites.

Can't you see the huge inconsistency in what you've written?
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:41, Reply)
no, al
i can see you doing what you do, trying to read between the lines to be "clever" or "edgy" or "funny".

of course there is a difference between manufacturing something, and employing people to do it, and paying rent, and wages, and hiring outsourcing companies, etc etc. even if you make it yourself from scratch, if you buy the equipment, you are adding to the economy.

nicking stuff and selling it with the whole cash going in your back pocket not the same. you know that and i know that.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:43, Reply)
Picking wild flowers is "nicking stuff"?

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:46, Reply)
there are different laws on that
depends which bit of the plant you pick, blah blah. i suspect the flower beds in hyde park belong to the crown, but don't know that for a fact.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:48, Reply)
What I'm actually doing is drawing attention to your highly inconsistent viewpoint regarding "rights"
You've said that a business should have the right over a person simply because it makes more money.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:48, Reply)
no, al
that is not what i said.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:49, Reply)
See below

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:55, Reply)
Well it sort of is.
I mean - it's an absolutely petty point, but you did say "it depends on other people having money to ... buy things off them".

Which is, er ... capitalism. Lowest possible outlay, highest possible price.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:51, Reply)
I'd be interested to see how funny he'd find it
if they were camping on his street. Guildford regularly used to get gypsies squatting on commons and parks when I was growing up and the crime rate used to rocket.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:13, Reply)
i don't know why anyone would find it funny that people get pickpocketed or mugged
apart from al, he probably gives them wing mirror kicking lessons
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:17, Reply)
We have a big family in Oxford, and the occasional group roll in to the surrounding fields,
This time if year there are loads, clearly taking advantage of the influx of rich tourists on university conferences and stuff.
When oxford hosted a TED thing last year there were gypo everywhere, and it's clear they're here to scalp and steal. It shouldn't be allowed.
The police told all the pubs on cowley road to shut when there was a bug gypsy funeral at the church. These are not nice people and I can't see how you're going to fundamentally change an ingrained culture without something drastic.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:21, Reply)
Are you advocating another holocaust here?

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:23, Reply)
YES
but not necessarily against gypsies. there are lots of people i would burn, including:

stupid people
chavs
people who've been caught stealing more than 3 times
the cunt who broke into my car
hot women
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:29, Reply)
Have you considered moving to Saudi Arabia or somewhere?

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:32, Reply)
why, does it have none of the above?
somehow i doubt that. i think they are endemic everywhere.

well, apart from the car thief.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:36, Reply)
no-one "broke" into your car
you left the door open, you daft apath.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:38, Reply)
i'm not sure that's right, i think it got fiddled with
but even if i did, i should be able to do that without fear of some cunt rummaging through it looking for stuff to nick. i hate thievery, i hate it so much.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:41, Reply)
Rubbish
nobody picks locks on modern cars as they are impossible to start. If someone is going to rummage through a car they break a window.

You left your car unlocked.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:44, Reply)
ok, and the self locking feature which kicks in after 2 minutes didn't work, by coincidence?
it is possible. but i'm not sure.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:51, Reply)
That's because, as has been amply demonstrated on here time and time again, you are quite a stupid person.
The self locking feature will only work if you unlock the doors then don't open them after two minutes. If you jsut turn off your engine and get out of the car, it would be a stupid system indeed that simply locked your doors after two minutes.

What if you jsut popped into a shop and left your keys behind?
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 13:00, Reply)
I know I am.

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:31, Reply)
I knew you would be.

(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:32, Reply)
There's a permanent traveller's site* just a mile or so from my home
The pub over the road from it tried to stay open but failed, then when it closed the building was trashed and anything of value was stripped from the place and the car park became their dumping ground.

*Yeah, I know - irony.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:26, Reply)
this is the problem
it is not a way of life that makes for nice people, i think.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:29, Reply)
Whereas of course if everyone were lawyers and financiers we'd have enough food to feed the world, right?
Ah, no. that other thing. We'd all starve too.
(, Wed 7 Aug 2013, 12:35, Reply)
nah
the lawyers would eat the financiers

we'd be fine
