How much pocket money did you get?
How much pocket money did you get?I'd got £15 for a day's work in my Dad's shop from the age of about 9 that went up £5 every year on my birthday until I started my GCSEs, but had to pay Mum 20% 'House Keeping'.
I'm not sure if this counts as vulgar money talk, don't think it does.
In my Dad's shop, they had a mezineen floor that was used for stock, the cieling was about 5ft high. He got fined for his advertisment looking for a Dwarf, apparently only theoratical people can/could do that at the time.
When we did the Markets and Trade Shows, i'd get £125 for the weekend, two days, 6am start, sometimes midnight finish.
Best education, that. You quickly learnt that nobody will tell you if you overchange and a penny under and you won't hear the end of it.

Why did you set aside a whole floor for calling the faithful to prayer?

I honestly don't rememberI don't think I got a fixed allowance. Just money when I needed.
I had to do housework etc.
He got me a job at the inland revenue when I left school and I was introduced to Flexi-Time. I used that to go shopping and fucked the job off, went back to 6th form.

There's talk that the #6 will have a big screen, just under the 5" mark, which would get me to go back.

I think i'm going to stick to iOS for Tablet use.Sounds stupid, but a 'min' and 'proper' size ones both are really useful in their own ways... so I'm looking to get a new iPad Mini whenever they launch it, there's talk of it being announced in a big event on the 15th, but the Mini might not feature because they can't get the screens, in the price/quanties needed, in the manufacturing chain.

I never quite got how it related to what you have, more like what you do.
I never quite got how it related to what you have, more like what you do.Like, the whole point of "the working class", in my books, was a derogative term for those who had to work rather than live souly off family-estates.

I never got pocket money as a childas a teenager, I noticed my friends did. quite a lot, in some spoiled cases. so I whinged. one day dad came home from work.
"fine, let's talk about it. how does £4 an hour sound?"
I was 15. and it was 1993. that was unbelievable wealth. but I smelled a rat. a great big fishy one. sure enough...
"if you want it, you'll work for me at the bank. answering the switchboard, filing etc." I didn't want. but it was that or nothing. so I did it every fucking Saturday and school holiday until I was 18...
