I'm so glad I did that...
In line with Sporto's thread, marvel us with your tales of sheer genius, where you absolutely won at life.

alt. Tea or Coffee

altalt. If money were no object, where would you live?

I would absolutely spend most of my days in one of those underwater hotels in Dubai.
If I didn't have the overwhelming fear of being beheaded.

Most days I win at life.
Professionally, about 18 months ago I negotiated a deal that got USD71m knocked off. Which was almost half of the loss.

Personally, I think we'll leave it at that.

I would live in Australia if money was no object. It's great.

I've always wanted to go to Australia.

I have relatives there, I really should take advantage.

It's really expensive once you're there too.

Money has no bearing on anything to do with where I want to live.
I'm pretty sure I could afford to live in any of the places I would like to live. I'd just prefer not to be away from friends and family. But some parts of Aus, NZ, Canada, maybe the alps if friends and family proximity was no object.

I love living where I do
or I will once I've finished all the fucking work. The beach is literally 2 mins away, there are good local shops 200 yards away and 2 good boozers. 15 mins walk will get me to a Metro and Whitley Bay town centre and its really quiet and peaceful
(, Thu 7 Nov 2013, 14:27, Reply)
It's pretty astonishing what that sort of money will buy you
anywhere north of Enfield. You could get a really nice house around Cambridge for that money.

Unless, of course, at some point in the next few years
the economy sees through the teetering emperor's new clothes car crash that is the London property market, of course.

Admittedly, that's fucking unlikely, since, y'know, pricks. But still.

I also want a house with a turret. I fucking love a turret.

I saw a place earlier in the week
fucking huge, 30' by 25' main room, beautifully laid out, with a separate heated 3 car garage with a games room above, in the middle of the countryside 20 mins drive from where I work, sauna/hot tub in the back garden. £270k. Mental.
(, Thu 7 Nov 2013, 14:28, Reply)

There's a grade 1 listed 4 bed place up for sale in a town just south of edinburgh that has a turret, though. £199k. It's lovely but I wouldn't touch a grade 1 listed with your cock and Monty pushing.

Agreed

Especially with Lennon's hypocrisy. Singing about how easy it is to imagine no possessions whilst playing on his white grand piano in his massive mansion - the guy had some fucking front.

Didn't he have an air-conditioned cabinet for his fur coats?

Imagine - John Lennon

It inexplicably always wins these wretched "best song ever" polls, which really only goes to show that the public love pretentious tree-hugging hippy crap. That's not why I hate it though.

No, the reason I hate it is the breathtaking hypocrisy of Lennon sitting at his huge piano in a huge room in his huge house and singing
"Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can..."
