 We're doooooooomed, I tell you.
We're doooooooomed, I tell you.Last week, I was listening to a group of 'youngsters' at work, trying to decide if Devon was in Cornwall. Eventually they decided it wasn't, because it was a county on its own.
Then one of them knowledgeably intoned "anyway, Cornwall's in Norfolk, so it can't be."
Later in the week, I heard a couple of teenagers when I was out shopping, describing something as 'perfection'. They then had a heated discussion about the adjective to describe perfection. They eventually settled on 'perfectionary'.
Is the future of our great nation royally fucked? Tell us tales of head-desk stupidity you've heard recently.
Alt: talk about food if you want. You probably will anyway, you fat bastard.
AltAlt: Scoff and mock, like you're too cool to join in a conversation because you're better than the rest of us.

 I'm SHIT at Geography.
I'm SHIT at Geography.Be it our own country or others.
I kind of know where things are...
The future generation will be a band of street dancing wannabe slags, so yes. Unless everything in the future is call centre based (he types, from a call centre).
Until recently, I thought Jermaine Stewart was a woman.

More than likely, they just don't care.
More than likely, they just don't care. They don't see where it will get them in life.
I think you have to choose a vocation in life too early.
I had no idea what I wanted to be at 18.
Had I chose my paths again in hindsight I would have chased a career in law.

I heard someone making the leap that if a couple of teenagers were ignorant of the geography of the UK and some others struggled with grammar that a nation with a population of over 60 million would be in trouble.

The majority of teenagers/uni leavers seem to think the country owes them something, rather than having to actually work for stuff
The majority of teenagers/uni leavers seem to think the country owes them something, rather than having to actually work for stuffThis riles me. My step-daughter was recently made redundant and instead of just getting any job to pay her rent, she made herself skint so as not to lower herself into part time bar/cafe work (both of which she has previously done)

I don't mind youngsters being wrong,
I don't mind youngsters being wrong, Generally they're happy to be corrected, or at least adults feel it's OK to confront their idiocy. I'm more worried about the old boy in the managers chair that is either too stubborn to listen or everyone is too scared to speak to him about his idiocy.
Alt: no.
Altalt. I just wanted to mention that it appears the company I work for print all their emails and store them in archives. Seems a bit wasteful.
