WANT.

Ever thought about learning to fly a plane?

Alt: what would you like to learn?

I would like to learn all of the languages of the world. All of them. Even that one that's just clicks and humming.

I'd love to get a pilot's licence
A couple of mates have theirs and, in the present good weather, spend a lot of time flying. It's a bit pricey though. Often thought about Gyrocopters too.
Alt: It'd be nice to have the time/money/lack of need for a job that would allow me to enrol in any of the Luthiery schools. Making acoustic guitars would be awesome!
(, Tue 17 Jun 2014, 10:35, Reply)
There are often Spitfires flying around at home where they do a fly *with* a Spitfire 'experience' thing.
I'd only bother to learn to fly if I planned on being one of them slags that smashed into the twin towers.

Alt: How to make friends.

The 'with' thing would be ok. The problem is there are very few 2 seater Spitfires - (they were training aircraft) so very limited opportunities to actually fly in one now.

Ewan McGregor was mincing about in a two seater a couple of years ago around Folkestone and Dover for some TV thing,

Alt. I would like to learn how to sword fight.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2014, 10:41, Reply)
Nah.
Flying strikes me as one of those things that looks a lot more fun than it actually is, what with all the rules due to the repercussions of fucking it up and falling out the sky.

The bus thats only fucking once an hour anyway that gets me home on the fucking occasions I need it has decided it now stops and turns round 3 miles outside the most heavily populated town in Cornwall. I'm moving to Brixton, its better than this shithole.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2014, 11:38, Reply)
Just going to point out that there is another mode of transport that's available to you
it's got a higher intial outlay than a bus, but nobody else is allowed on it unless you give them permission; it will stop anywhere you choose. As an added bonus, they're frequently cheaper than trains.

And have it finish at your home.
