WTF is that all about? Why can't it be the other way round? :(

All that bad I guess, I just have a series of issues with Mondays:
I don't like getting up.
My job doesn't generate work for me over the weekend, so it's normally Tuesday before I have anything to do.
I'm fed up with my job, in general.
Also, I have a pulsating headache.

Sweetcorn is a useless foodstuff, the human digestive system can't process it, so it just sits in skips at sewage farms awaiting transport to the local cattle...

With respect - bollocks!
The human digestive system can process it fine. It's full of sugar and stuff. It's only the fibrous component that goes right through, and that's good for you as it keeps your gut healthy.

I have actually found some in my crap* before now, but it's just the husks. The internal bits have been digested.

Right...
K2k6 - You're right.
'Red - You're half right.
Humans can digest sweetcorn (although it's disgusting, and I don't know why you'd want to).
Humans can't digest the outer part of the sweetcorn "skin".
This skin is high in coloured compounds, yellow pigments that give it the classic "Horrible Yellow".
You eat the corn, chew it, pass it through your body, digesting the inside of it, the skin will stay mostly intact.
You shit out the normal brown log, and those yellow skins have to go somewhere...
They're studded through the turd like mixed peel in a Christmas pudding *shudders*
So down it all goes to the sewage plant and the fun begins...

Has any health benefits that you can noticeably see/feel? Just curious to these things. Especially multivitamins which are a load of crap as the body cannot absorb certain things together - but on the flip side have had people who were always really sick start taking Echinacea and not being sick. Which is a question of was it helping or was the placebo effect in full force.

I started taking them as I was lacking in iron, no matter what I ate, and the doctor said the multi-vits + iron might help.
Now instead of bleached white, I am a healthy creamish colour, and feel a lot less lethargic compared to pre-vits.
Its the only thing I take, so I blame my chirpiness on them.

I've read a lot of research on mind over matter, and a really interesting book ages ago about walking on hot coals and all that. I wish I could remember what it was called but I read it after reading what I think was a collection of stort stories by Roald Dahl and a guy who can see through playing cards...

I assume some of you will know this, some of you won't...
"... the iron content [of spinich was] mistakenly reported ten times the actual value, a value that was rechecked during the 1930s, where it was revealed that the original German scientist had misplaced a decimal point in his calculations. In truth, spinach actually has about the same iron content as a lot of other vegetables, and even less than others. Cooked broccoli and cauliflower, for example, have almost double the iron content of spinach."

I was hearing the other day that crows are able to recognise people by their faces. Apparently cats can't - they just recognise smells and sounds. But I suspect the cats can recognise people OK, it's just that they don't let on.

The findings, from two experiments, are thus:
1) I can fit an entire packet (25g) of Hula Hoops in my mouth if I crunch them up. This is quite nice.
2) Accounting for whole hoops, I achieved a maximum load of 21 hula hoops, mouth open.
3) To close the mouth, hula hoop load must be reduced to 17.
I'm sure that these experiements have value for humanity.

mine is downy soft :-)
ask kaol, he's grabbed it.
and you get to refer to yourself as a beard-wearing gentleman.
I have to frequently explain to beard-sceptics that while growing a beard you go through the 3 stages of itchiness.
most people give up at the first stage, this is because they aren't real men.
some give up at the second stage and this is because they have no willpower.
few will give up at the third stage. there are a myriad of reasons for this.
but last the full course and the world is your mollusc*

Might well be motivation enough to grow mine back to proper (short) beard length.
Just need to keep my tash a wee bit shorter than before to stop it pissing off my upper lip.
:edit: Over the weekend a friend of mine asked me (expecting me to know) what it's like to have a bloke with a beard working your lady parts with his mouth parts.
I wonder what it's like to have a lady with a beard working on your man parts with her mouth parts?

We have alcohol in the fridge, a supply of cakes and biscuits, occasionally free meals home cooked by othe wife of one of the guys, we have shot BB guns round the office getting bonus points for hitting folders of jobs we don't like and we do go down the pub Friday lunchtime when the directors pay for alcohol and food.
But I work in H&S in CDM. So it's not all great :p

I'm afraid I wouldn't allow the full beard - due to a traumatic incident in my childhood, when my dad grew a beard and looked like a mad axe murderer, I've never been able to fancy a bearded man.
I think he'd rather I still fancy him (I hope!) than have a beard.

So we all have to grow a 'tache. Not sure whether to try going for a handlebar or not.
I'll cunningly grow it as part of a beard until the day of the gathering me thinks.

@ethelred:
Fine thanks. Have spent the weekend mostly enjoying the weather and messing about with my PC.
Have yet to hear from the companies I interviewed at so at least I know I've not been instantly turned down.
Re facial hair:
Every so often, I grow a goatee. Sometimes, it looks good but requires more maintenance than the rest of my hair. I then usually get fed up of it, shave it off, and realise I look so much younger without one.
BTW: For some reason, I cannot grow sideburns.

the top lip thing is annoying. that's the bit I trim most often
it's the only bit that annoys Mrs V too.
I love my beard though.
shaved it off for charity last year. it was fucking horrible. I didn't recognise myself for 2 weeks
Edit: hairy chest too. don't mind that too much. was weird though. I used to be really blonde and not able to grow a beard, no hairy chest etc. then when I was about 19 (I think) my hair changed colour to a mdeium brown, my chest hair grew and I started having to shave more often
(this was not late puberty)

I was looking forward to growing facial hair, so I could sculpt it in weird and wonderful shapes (eg. spiral sideburns). This urge didn't last until puberty, but I've been known to be 'creative' when shaving off my many goatees. What I did was to basically divide it into mini-beards by shaving channels of clear skin through my chin-forest.
