how'd you find b3ta?
There've gotta be some fun stories. Mental coworkers; random drunken websurfing; being a stalker of the ginger fuhrer. How'd you first find this moral cesspool called b3ta?
Who wants to go first? Oooh, how about me? I'm getting all misty-eyed just thinking of the historical significance of the moment.

I actually was using it quite legitimately for work research purposes. Stop sniggering, it's true. I work as a copy editor (you brits'd call it a sub editor) in the sports department of a newspaper. A few years ago, a story moved about Chelsea fans being banned from bringing celery into their grounds because of an ``obscene song'' that ended with celery being thrown on the field. The taunting bastards who wrote the story, of course, didn't see fit to include the lyrics. In the interests of journalistic integrity, I googled ``chelsea fans celery song.'' one of the very first pages i found was the QOTW about hated foods. the song?
``Celery, celery.
If she don't come, I'll tickle 'er bum
wiv a lump of celery.''
god bless you b3ta.

I found it
through Joel Veitch's site. I found his in turn through www.memepool.com, which had linked his kittens singing the White Stripes.

Boring, I know. But there ya go.

I don't quite remember
but I think I was looking up stupid things with a friend and stumbled across this site.

Fairly boring I know. :(

I found it through Ebay.
Someone was selling obscure joke items that never really got sold but there was lots of chat and witty banter about the items. They posted the link for Spiderman will make you gay and here I am.

Nearly two years of lower productivity and talking bollocks.

My story is a bit.....sordid
And might be TMI as well......

Back in 2005 or 2006 I was a member of a site that had a distinctive, how to put this in the most bland terms, well, pornographic nature. The regular users spent most of their time on the forums discussing sex-related things, telling dirty jokes, and generally flirting. It also had galleries of uploaded pron thanks to the site being for people of a more.....erm.....exhibitionist nature.

And now you ask, how in the world did a pron site lead Miss FWB to B3ta? What an odd place to find such a wonderful humor site!

Well, in the links section, 'twas a link to the QOTW: My Wanking Disasters. It was on that link my dear fellow b3tans that I discovered the unique wonder that is b3ta.

I lurked for a couple of years before finally joining this wonderful new world.

Oh yeah, sorry to disappont, but the loverly pron site that lead me to this place of degenerate filth humorous stories and such crashed in 2007 never to be rebuilt.

Well well well
I can't really remember that far back, being an oldie (in b3ta years), but here goes.

- squiggly lines -

I was once a call centre tech support guru* with the world at my feet. I was, unfortunately, and quite frankly, bored shitless.

I was literally doing my job of talking through internet connectivity issues - sub-conciously - while surfing teh interwebz.

I happened across this b3ast of a site while exploring the world of bansai kittums (googled it, and the subject of kittums appeared regularly here).

I read a few QOTWs and signed up. Lurked for a bit, shaked me toosh, and here I am.

ahh I remember it well..
I was quite young and it was summer holidays and I was rather bored.

Being the genius I am typed in www.bored.com and on the website there was a link to humorous websites and this was the 1st one I clicked on.

Ive never looked back..

EDIT: I think I must have been about 14 at the time. You have enlightened me over the years b3ta

It was all Legless' fault.
About 5 years ago he showed me the site. You should have a look, he told me. I did. I looked a bit more, forgot about it and then he fucked off to Oz because he'd fallen in love, or some such shite.

We lost touch for a bit, then I thought 'there's that b3ta thing, I'll try that'. 'Too much information' was the QOTW at the time.

And here I am. The rest, as they say, has been consigned to the dustbin of history.

I was house-sharing with 3 lovely ladies
and managed to cop off with one of them just before she moved out (yay!), unfortunately her replacement was a smelly, hairy degenerate, with boggly eyes, a hunch and a limp. He would tell obscene stories and shout 'CUNT!' randomly at the TV, even if it was switched off. In short, I fell in love with him.

He introduced me to B3ta, it was the time of the 'My Most Beautiful Moment' QOTW, and then he left my life forever.

I'll never forget you Sonny, you dirty, disgusting little bastard.

A guy at uni
Emailed me a link to a post on /board that was the beautiful "George Foreman Cunt-Puncher".

Then I had a root around, found QOTW and lurked for a while.

After a few months I decided that I was 200% better than 99% of the people on there (And also fucking great with numbers), so I signed up.

I typed
cunt, wank, fucksocks, rape, rape, fuck, cunt, bastard, shit and Quo into Google and it was the first search result.

I can't
actually remember...

Lurked for a long time before I signed up, mainly reading QOTW.

I got sent a section of the newsletter
And the rest is history.

If I browsed from a computer instead of my phone, I'd probably be much more active on /board and /links. As it is, I really feel at home in QOTW :)

I'd like to thank him. my boss would not!

About two years ago
I read a review of the site QuestionSwap.com in the Times saying how good it was so I joined up and had a great time answering daft questions with even dafter answers. Then I discovered the Forum attached to QS and began chatting to various members, the main one being a certain gentleman who went by the name of Humpty.
He sent me link to this strange place that he suggested I may feel at home in, that strange place dear reader was B3ta.com.

And I've been here ever since.
