Time for a Sunday thread

Well I had a good time last night. The lady I met was good company and today I feel ready to get on and tackle some of the things on my many lists. Life is good.

Urgh!

*drinks from a pint of squash*

My mother is cooking me a sausage sarnie as we speak type. Mmmmmmm.

How was last night?
(, Sun 23 Nov 2008, 10:49, Reply)
yeah it was really good!
I just missed a call though and I think it was from the radio station to say I had won some free cinema tickets! I hope they call back :(

I should probably go wake Kaol up, I have a phobia of waking people though!

Last night was awesome! Pooflake and the captain are most awesome! They had some rude songs too which made me giggle!
(, Sun 23 Nov 2008, 10:55, Reply)
Rude songs
Are full of win. If you've not heard them already you might like www.amateurtransplants.net/ their album is incredibly rude and funny.

Why do you have a phobia of waking people? Did you have a bad experience as a child or something?
(, Sun 23 Nov 2008, 10:59, Reply)
It stems from
adulthood! Waking up people who have crashed on my sofa and them waking up and going ARGHGHHGGHHGGHGH. This has happened about 5 times :( But they have no recollection of this! And then go "What's wrong with you?" as I am cowering in the corner!

Luckily Kaol is in the spare room so I just knocked really loudly and it seemed to do the trick :p

Good idea Badger - if you let him just sleep, he won't emerge until 2pm.

Oops! Morning, btw.

Me bored - studying for an exam (cisco, if you're intestered. I'm not)

A question however, for the techies (yes I am a techy, but in a different field)
I have a Nikon camera, nice it is too. It has many settings - one of which is the format of the picture. JPEG is sort of understand - like it is a compressed picture. But I have no idea of teh RAW format...

Please explain the merits of each...

I saw you were on the internet
I thought i might say hello
(, Sun 23 Nov 2008, 12:07, Reply)
Rabbit
jpeg is a compressed image file- it only records what it sees as the colours available and records them in it's limited capped ability. RAW records the quantities of light and has a massive understanding of what it is it sees- if you take a RAW b+w then it will still retain all the info to transfer it back to colour. It also records in adobe 1998 as opposed to standard RGB, so has a much wider spectrum.

I can go on if you want.

Don't imagine that Drixy, you'll need a lot of mind bleach and corrective surgery if you do. The last time anybody did something like that it stuck, and still makes them cringe to this day.

Evening all
I'm watching star wars and wishing I hadn't been quite so drunk last night. I took a considerable battering in the mosh pit at motorhead last night, my nose is still rather tender!
(, Sun 23 Nov 2008, 16:52, Reply)
Hi Al
Was it a good gig?

Motorhead is the only band I've thrown up after seeing, and it wasn't because of drink. I spent the entire night in front of a speaker stack, and the bass half killed me.

Dok
You aren't that good...how could we be friends if you were?

PoD - I'm fine thanks (apart from cold feet - stupid things). I have done feck all today :)

Al! Was it fun? (Apart from the nose problems.)
(, Sun 23 Nov 2008, 16:55, Reply)
I think
it was probably the best time i've seen them, certainly for a few years. I went over the top during Bomber as I was getting killed in the pit, but once I'd caught my breath I got straight back in there again for the encore.

Saxon were brilliant too.

Sad news, I suggest consolation via the medium of a Bailey's coffee. Or good German gluhwein laced with rum.

/Edit

Just brought the cost of my train tickets down by another £8. Damn I am good at this bargain hunting thing.

so as penalty, you can expect facelicking on Friday ,)

I have most of a box of celebrations my brother gave me yesterday as part of my birthday present, currently filling my face aside from the bounty ones.

I've been getting wildly erratic with the razor of late. Shaved, unshaved, half-shaved, who knows what it'll be day to day.

Hey becks, hows things? Not seen you in a while.

I'm very well thanks, just polished off the last of lastnight's bottle of Captain Morgan's and wathing that Survivor's thing on BBC1. It's pretty scary.

Not to mention the gloating worth of "Durex Tester" as an occupation down the pub.

"Apply now to be a tester"

Got a response 3 months after I split with my ex, so was quite handy.

For one named The Grammar Badger, usage of the word lottle is somewhat wrong...no?

Feel free to come on over Clenders, you can join me tripping over furniture I couldn't be arsed to move out of the room and dripping paint on the carpet :)

Perhaps what Badger meant to say was
she rolled a lottle around on the floor.

What's a lottle, I wonder...

for
clarification a lottle is somewhere between a little and a lot. It is a valid word see

Ahhh
that'd make sense. B3ta'ing drunk is always entertaining :)

Shouldn't that be "written with crayon"?
(, Sun 23 Nov 2008, 22:44, Reply)
Aha!
So 'a lottle' is 'an ordinary amount'.

Nice.

Edit: Ethel, be nice. Badger seems to be broken.

I just feel like dancing about.. dancing makes me happy. I do it a lot when I ahve the house to myself, even when sober, but feel self-concious if anyone else is in, even if they are 10 metres away and about to go to bed and will never see me.

we've got the all clear for me to register as a student next year at last, so part of my week off this week will be spent filling in god knows how many application forms.

Busy is good though right? Got to be better than working in that fucking awful coffee shop.

Edit: Never tried it myself Dok, is it any good? Do you run around pretending to be a pixie or something? *loses many geek points in admitting this*

PoD, yeah I'll be going to college one day a week and working the rest of the time. It's been six years since I last studied for anything, bar the last three weeks, so I'm looking forward to it, but a bit nervous at the same time.

Becky I have ferrets, cats, rats, degus, frogs, toads, snakes, spiders, scorpions, a nd lizards. It's why I have a large heated shed, which is fun to be in on days like this.

Hi Lost
I didn't watch tv for about two years and was determined to be more selective about it when I was given a tv a few months ago. Judging by this evening's offerings and the fact that my DVD collection remains untouched, I'd say it's a downward spiral.

But I don't know just how much help I'll be. I'm always willing to share what I do know though.

OK Folken I'm off to bed :( got to be up early in the morning for work.
