On the subject of telly...
Anyone seen any of the new season of House yet ? I watched the 2 hour season première yesterday (where House is admitted to a psych hospital) and it was fucking brilliant, one of the best things I've seen in ages.

Highly recommend getting hold of it (not sure if it's available on Sky or whatever yet).

no - I'm waiting to see if you'll be a bastard again.
or if you'll just be mildly annoying with some slight amusement thrown in to shock me.

Right. Bedtime now, stupid practise exam in the morning.. Night.

Oh you want to join in do you?

It depends, have you ever intentionaly thrown cat through a window then jammed a penny down it's throat?

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:36, Reply)
Well, there was this one time
but I pretended it was all an accident and then told the internet. I promise it wil never happen again.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:47, Reply)
When you threw the cat at the window at ful pelt, was it double glazing and it bounced off.....
... so you had to do it again and again, until a streak of blood followed the almost dead corpse of your cat as it slid down the window, making a dull thud each time with a slight crack of bones.... and then eventually that window cracked, and after a while, shattered.

Then with that still alive cat, with internal bleeding and hemoraging, did you rip it's jaw open and ram a coin down it's throat, but it won't go down, so you get a biro pen and push it down 'till it finaly stays down.

And then tell all your friends that your cat his very clumsy and told it that if it ever tells anyone, you'll take away it's phone card so it can never call it's family again?

And I thought you were one of the nice people on B3ta.
That was a superb tale. Obviously it's not true though. Obviously.

Totally stealin' this off osmeone else.

If by "cat" you mean "nun" then yes.

I've still got to watch about half the last series,
I got bored with 13 and Foreman's boring relationship.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:51, Reply)
I've never watched House.
Is it worth starting from the beginning? I don't really have the patience to sit through hour long episodes unless it's really, really good.

This. Never seen an episode and I'm not particularly tempted from what I've heard.

"Bad tempered, grumpy Doctor who looks like Hugh Laurie gets annoyed and pisses people off in every episode but that's OK because he gets the job done, saves lives, and everyone realises he's an OK guy really" doesn't really get my juices flowing.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:58, Reply)
Hugh Laurie gets my juices flowing.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 14:25, Reply)
It really is a Marmite program
I know of many people who hate it with a passion, and complain about how predictable it is.

I love it, his put downs and one liners are some of the funniest to hit TV in years, absolutely brilliant.

It's worth going from the start though, definitely.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:20, Reply)
I'm with all of the above
people say "oh it's about the developing relationships between characters..." I don't feel I need to watch that, particularly as I get annoyed with Hugh Laurie's accent just from brief bits of the adverts.

I have still to catch up with Bones, Heroes and Lie to Me.
For some reason, this makes me happy.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:57, Reply)
I gave up on Heroes
To be honest, unless it's Hollyoaks or How I met Your Mother, it ain't going on my telly after dinner.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:01, Reply)
how I met your mother is fucking ace!
glad you like it. watched the first 3 episodes of the latest series over the last few days. it's still awesome.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:43, Reply)
NPH is almost as awesome as RJD.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:47, Reply)
this is true
NPH is one of the greatest people alive.

also, kinky Willow and hot canadian are well worth watching for
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:52, Reply)
Bones is ace
I only got into it about 3 months ago when my housemate told me he had the first 4 series on his hard drive, so I should watch them.

Ended up burning through them in less than 5 weeks, watching them every evening. Fucking brilliant.

How far behind are you?
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:19, Reply)
The latest ep has James Earl Jones
I must admit I hadn't realised he was still alive.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:05, Reply)
The Force is strong with that one.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:10, Reply)
Your mum is strong with that one

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:13, Reply)
Your mum is forced to have one.

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:16, Reply)
Your mum strummed a fourth one.
as two of them were in her arse and the third was in her mouth.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:48, Reply)
I spent that eppisode thinking it was the same actor who plays Foreman's dad.
It made things incredably confusing.

However, I reckon it was the best eppisode yet.

Agreed, the season opener was excellent
As a quick aside to those of you who might be acquiring the episodes by unofficial means 6x03 starts with a quite long CGI sequence so don't worry that you've downloaded the wrong thing by accident.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:21, Reply)
hah
I did that :)
