I don't like bgb's thread
So I'm going to suggest A GAME!

The pitch is here
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1259646/Gay-couple-turned-away-guest-house-owner-let-share-bed.html#comments
The goal is for each of us to submit a comment, not tell anyone what it is then at 4pm see which has been recommended the most.

Tactics:
Be as much of a cunt as possible, you're talking to mail readers.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:20, 109 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Awesome!

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:21, Reply)
Are you Colin from Bedford?

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:22, Reply)
I'm still writing my comment.

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:23, Reply)
done,
I'm totally proud of it, it barely makes sense.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:26, Reply)
I think they Mod the comments before they go up
so it might now make it if it's truly awful
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:27, Reply)
Nah they don't bother anymore.

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:28, Reply)
Yours hasn't appeared yet though

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:29, Reply)
God, that means that Colin in Bedford
was probably serious.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:38, Reply)
It's the sad-but-trufax
It's also why I generally have to avoid the Daily Mail website. It just makes me angry.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:40, Reply)
Ah yeah they are moderating.

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:38, Reply)
I couldn't get a login
I wonder if they've blocked it for now?
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:40, Reply)
"Can I get a login"
screamed the DJ
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:45, Reply)
hmmm, maybe...
I should have checked to see the latest comment before starting this game.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:45, Reply)
You really should have
It's kind of died on its ass.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:48, Reply)
It's a good idea for a game though.
I'm going to try to do it again this week.
Keep your eyes peeled people.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:49, Reply)
It's true
You need to get a thread that's still getting posts added to it though. Get in there quick.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:57, Reply)
Ok done but its not appeared

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:28, Reply)
Nor has mine yet
Moderators take ages!
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:30, Reply)
Do we have to go for a particular side?
Or just whichever will we think will get most?
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:33, Reply)
I would have turned them away for being old and ugly
not just because they are shirters
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:35, Reply)
Please, make this a comment. I will vote.

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:37, Reply)
I tried, but they want you to register which requires email validation etc etc etc
if someone else wants to use my comment they are more than welcome.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:45, Reply)
Done, best game ever!
I have a holy trinity of homosexuality, immigrants and Nu-labour in mine! It's a winner!
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:38, Reply)
Done!
Let's see if it gets through the mods...
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:42, Reply)
nah
it's not added either of mine, refreshing the page still shows Colin from Bedford as the most recent comment.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:53, Reply)
The most recent post was Colin of Bedford...
...at 11.56. So how can anyone be +1?
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:42, Reply)
Fucking thing doesn't like my mobile browser.

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:47, Reply)
Mine was less well crafted
But mentioned that they should 'stick to bumming in their own homes'. I'm dubious as to how well it would have gone down. Also, I don't want to register with the Daily Fail.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 14:49, Reply)
it said that to me,
I just reloaded it a few times and it worked.

Although I may just have commented 8 times.

I wonder if they mods will spot they're being trolled. Although having said that, our trolling is probably no different from the genuine comments.

I can't decide if I would love or loathe to be a mod over there.

Excellent
I've always thought Psychochomp was a total dick, but didn't want to say anything in case he saw and it hurt his feelings and he had a tantrum and caused a big to do. Now I can speak freely as he won't see my crushing words.

Unless he is just making me think I'm on ignore so he can find out what I truly think....sly

I set up a bookmark for your recent posts

check it every few hours, and reply near to you saying something similar until someone says "Kitty O'Hara just said that" and I'll go, "Oh, who? I must have her on ignore"

Pretty much, this is /qotw after all.

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 15:56, Reply)
I find your game terribly offensive.
Your "fair" game is open to anyone which means I could be sharing a thread with people who actually believe immigrants who are suffering in their home countries should be allowed to come over here and take all our jobs.

You also make no mention of the fact women and blacks obviously have inferior veiws and as such should be filtered out so the true British people have no risk of stumbling across a recipe for flan or, even worse, some waffling about how regardless of the colour of peoples skin we are all "equal"

Also picking fun at Daily Mail readers is a cheap shot and you deserved to be locked in a cell with Jon Venables for ever and ever.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 15:18, Reply)
+1 for trolling.

this one amused me
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1259798/Man-goes-work-comes-home-Romanian-family-moved-in.html

why, i dont know
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 15:36, Reply)
I'm really tempted to write a snotty comment on that one.
In fact I've even written it. I'm just hovering over 'Submit' and wondering whether I'm in danger of getting on too high a horse about the whole thing....

Should I send it?
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 15:54, Reply)
I already did.
It hasn't appeared though.

In response to this one: "Romanians are the worst of them all and I am not a racist. This country is going down hill fast and the government and EU dont seem to care. These people are not welcome but yet they end up with more rights than the Brits. That cannot be right or fair. They should be all sent back to where they came from. Once a foreigner breaks the law they should be sent home immediately - not question" etc etc, written by the eloquent and literate "susan berry, Tramore Ireland, 22/3/2010 14:42"

Basically "I'm not a racist but I HATE FORRINS". What a pillock.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 16:02, Reply)
Mine is in response to similar attitudes...
I'm just worried that I'm being too haughty:
"Yes, of course, they should be deported, just like all those other "forrin types," in just the same way that any British person who transgresses the law when they go abroad is hauled onto the first 'plane back to Heathrow in shackles...

Do you not think your lives would be so much richer if you found pursuits other than looking for something on here to trigger a good whinge about another exaggerated 'problem' which is invariably 'another damning indictment of the state of this country and all that Gordon Brown's fault'?"
Still tempted to post it though...
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 16:04, Reply)
do it.
But be prepared for the storm of red arrows that traditionally greets common sense on that website.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 16:06, Reply)
Hehe
I wasn't expecting a friendly response to it.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 16:13, Reply)
There's no point though is there
It's like banging your head against a wall.
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 16:07, Reply)
It is.
I just thought a sarcy remark like that might raise their blood pressure to the same extent they raise mine. But then I realise it's not worth getting agitated about. Hell, I'll be impressed if it even makes it past the mods.

Only drawback is it now means I'm registered with MailOnline. I feel slightly dirty now...
(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 16:11, Reply)
omg
we both mentioned raised blood pressure at the same time.

Maybe you two should get together and raise each other's blood pressure

(, Mon 22 Mar 2010, 16:12, Reply)
It's true
and their responses to my arguments always leave me angrier than I was in the first place. Especially when they use text speak. Text speak pushes my blood pressure up.
