I bought a new laptop yesterday.
I hate distress purchasing. I've ended up with the ugliest Toshiba known to man, and slight feeling of regret/being ripped off.

What do you regret buying?

Alt Q: Top or bottom?
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:17, 153 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
A box of Free trade condoms.
Bottom.

Fuck that shit
Pulp are reforming and are expected to announce playing some gigs next year.

I'm ecstatic at this news.

*awaits Monty to wade in with his tedious "Pulp were always shit I much preferred this obscure Moroccan band who produced three singles on 10" vinyl in the 70s" comment*

Aww what?
I loved saying "I saw pulps last ever gig" now I can't say that any more.

I was wrong, their last gig was in Rotherham.
I wasn't there.

My weekend was alright until about 1am this morning, but everything seems to be fine right now.
Which is a shame, because I had fun up until then.

I'm pretty good. had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Tar Barrels didn't disappoint, I did some quality DIY, ate some incredible Thai food, drank loads of booze, smoked loads of spliffs, had a long lie in, ate a roast dinner in front of the fire.

Fable 3
It's a fantastic game, but I could have done with the £35 it set me back.

I like both.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:22, Reply)
Stupid platform specific games
I'd quite like a crack at Fable 3, but I'm not buying an Xbox for the privilege.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:27, Reply)
It's going to come out on PC
Just not sure when...
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:28, Reply)
Stupid Molyneaux.
Edit: Lionhead are local to me and I want to like their games, but so far they've done nothing but turn out over-hyped disappointments. The one game that looks like it might live up to expectations is only on Xbox.

I bet the port will suck.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:33, Reply)
Black & White series, the Fable series
I've never played Black & White, but it's meant to be incredible, and I've thoroughly enjoyed every Fable game.

Black and White

(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:36, Reply)

I'd get so frustrated with trying to convert a village that I'd end up killing everyone in it.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:38, Reply)
I just got really fucking bored.
It's a shame, because the concept was excellent and original, but that's Molyneaux all over. All mouth and trousers.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:39, Reply)
no trousers?
the concept was good, and the gesture miracles and stuff, it just didn't work smoothly enough.

Plus, those cunts singing that song about their ship pissed me off. I had to try very hard not to throw them out to sea or sink their ark with a massive boulder.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:42, Reply)
My gran omitted the "no"

She was from Yorkshire though, so she was probably howling mad.

I've got the slightly rare Different Class album with the interchangeable cover pics
I imagine it's worth hundreds of pence.

I also have the single that teaches you how to make a paper wrap for your massive drug of choice.

my house is frustratingly wonky

They are pretty though

(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:49, Reply)
Georgian houses are lovely
but I'm likely only going to be able to get into a terrace at first go. Victorian it is!

To be fair, as long as it's pre 1940, it'll be decently built.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:50, Reply)
Mine was built in about 1840
It has a bit of a damp problem in the kitchen, but other than that it's rock solid.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:52, Reply)
they are until you need to replace woodwork like architrave and skirting boards.

(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:43, Reply)
Damn you!
Out-smugged via skirting boards!
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:42, Reply)
Mine wasn't built to the highest quality
but compared to modern builds that are built out of wood and plasterboard, it's a palace
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:43, Reply)
I hate new houses.
You know that old houses, regardless of wonky wall etc are going to last another hundred years.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:45, Reply)
A lot of new houses have stupid shaped rooms
and they cram in loads of rooms, so most of them are too small.
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:48, Reply)
There's no sound proofing in modern builds
you can hear people next door talking
(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:48, Reply)
mine is a rock-solid victorian mansion block

Is that certain amount "none"

(, Mon 8 Nov 2010, 11:54, Reply)
"Newer" as in that last 10-20 years when building regs were tightened up a lot
Your late 60s piece of crap is the reason why this happened.

Or has your new build subsided so much that the walls are now wonky?
