(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:50, archived)
work!
are you joking, the boss is a uni graduate and he is fucking things over like no tomorrow, the fucking mess he is creating is beyond description.

Graduation..fuck that..shooting them...yes.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:52, archived)
:(

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:54, archived)
admittedly this may not be the case for all
but most of the graduates I have had to work with have had fuck all common sense, zero work experience and crap social interaction skills.

ohh but they can do a presentation and spreadsheet no trouble.

utter cunts the shit pile I have had and continue to have to deal with at work.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:56, archived)
I spend most of my time drinking or playing xbox,
but can do some very hardcore sums when pushed.

One of my buddies in Uni days left with a first class hons. degree in civil engineering.
The first job he got straight after was with the local council, and his first task? - To design a new Hockey Pitch for a local secondary school.
two weeks of calcs, drawings, diagrams, drainage analysis etc etc, and he ended up solving a drainage issue on the affected area by putting the Hockey pitch on a 7 degree slope...
Suffice to say it never got beyond the drawing board.

He didn't last long there.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:55, archived)
just makes my blood boil
just because they have a degree in fucking media studies does not mean they know the best direction to move a department.

grrr fucking useless twats.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:57, archived)
*clicks*

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:58, archived)
Haha! I've worked with designers like that.
One of the first jobs I worked on, the designer had two 1050dia pipes running into a 2.4m chamber at the same level and about 15 degrees from each other. Can you believe it?!

It's a laugh a minute in civil engineering.

My grandad was a builder and had laid out all the foundations for a house
before the team realised the architect hadn't put in any stairs.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:10, archived)
hahaha, oh my :)
I shouldn't laugh - (due to the nature of my own work) but stories like that aren't really as uncommon as I wish they were.
We were recently called in to prepare and supervise the Building Regs. on a block of flats in slough. Clients had paid upwards of £20k on 'Architect's fees' down there for planning, and they had conveniently designed a roof that defied the laws of physics. they missed it, planners missed it, and it sailed through planning.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:15, archived)
I hope you managed to build the roof
Some sort of hover pads, or the suspensers ala Dune
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:16, archived)
I'll send you a sketch of the roof they had designed and see if you can see where the problem was...
once it 'twigs' it's quite funny, but an expensive mistake to make.
/and one reason why I'll NEVER become a full architect. I much prefer the lower lights of an Arch. technologist. We design, and we KNOW it works.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:18, archived)
That's archictects all over, though.
They'd have us build a bridge out of glass. Apart from TGA, he's great and should come out more often.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:19, archived)
A bridge out of glass!
I could stand below and look up girl's skirts.

On the escalator in House of Fraser yesterday the girl 2 steps above grabbed the bottom of her skirt to prevent me seeing her knickers (or perhaps lack thereof). I thought if she's concerned about that she should probably just wear a longer skirt.

/technologist
I in no way wish to be associated with the bow tiwe wearing, leather patches on elbows denizens of design doom that are full blown architects.
I've worked for a few of them, and the best decision I ever made was to go it alone.

But thank for the kind words, you ol' flatterer you
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:22, archived)
But he's definitely middle-class - surely that's the only requisite quality for a good manager!

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:04, archived)
FUCK OFF RUINER CUNT COCK HEAD

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:52, archived)
That new maybelline foundation looks nice.
I bet there won't be one pale enough for me, though.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:54, archived)
Hello Gilgamesh!

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:52, archived)
you knew that was a Gilgapost without reading the username didn't you?

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:10, archived)
Hell yeah!
No-one has the ability to be grumpy like you.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:15, archived)
I am a student and I have a job
I am excluded from all walks of life
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:52, archived)
I'm not a student and I don't have a job
everyone loves me.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:56, archived)
Apart from Piston.

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:57, archived)
he fears my brother and father
this entertains me.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:59, archived)
Yeah, but Piston fails at being a human being.

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:03, archived)
Same here.
We're so cool.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:04, archived)

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:11, archived)
If you offer me a job, I'll take the job.

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:53, archived)
I have two jobs, and I run my own company.
I bought and sold my first house last year.

I don't like doing exams but I don't whine about it.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:55, archived)
gis a job

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:56, archived)
Haha!
How good are you at gardening?

Edit: If it was that profitable do youy really think I would be doing an MSc next year?
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:56, archived)
I have no problem with physical work
and I'm a very quick learner.

I will do you proud Boss.

edit: maybe you just love being a student
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:57, archived)
If I do give you a job,
You must refer to me as 'boss' all the time, wear stripey prison uniform and sing lamenting delta blues about how you shot a man.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:58, archived)
am I allowed to use a harmonica?

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:02, archived)
Yes.
Maybe a little banjo too.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:04, archived)
How's the pay?

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:06, archived)
Pretty poor.
I might give you enough for some moonshine and a meal.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:29, archived)
Doley scrubbers are less of a drain on society than most students.

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:55, archived)
I WOULD HAVE QUITE LIKED TO HAVE GONE TO UNIVERSITY
NOT FOR A JOB OR ANYTHING, I THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FUN
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:55, archived)
I AM AT UNIVERSITY.
IT IS FUN SOMETIMES NOT ALL THE TIME
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:56, archived)

I AM HOPING TO GO BACK TO UNIVERSITY

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:05, archived)
good luck with that
but remember, no one in the real world actually gives a rat's bottom about your exams
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:21, archived)
I didn't go to uni because I didn't know what to do
On reflection it appears no-one else really had much of a clue either.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:12, archived)
Meh!
I'm a student, a mum, a cripple and I do have a job. :p
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:57, archived)
Are you a lesbian and black?
That would make a proper full set.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 19:59, archived)
a half-les but as pale as they come I'm afraid
Not sure blacking up would go down well at work.
(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:01, archived)
I shun your fakery

(, Tue 26 May 2009, 20:11, archived)
