I'm still stuffed from the massive pile of meat I had for lunch.
I'm not sure I can stomach much more than a couple of curries and maybe fish and chips. Perhaps a kebab later.
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 18:35, archived)
hold on, go slowly, i noted you were having pork for lunch, tyrone informed me of kebabs yesterday, which again were pork
i dont eat fish as we all know, curries are a new chapter in this journey, exotic, dusky and hopefully fiery, tell me more

If you read this post very carefully
you'll notice that I'm calling you a big gay.
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 18:48, archived)
is this because of the food? i'll note it down? yes?

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 18:57, archived)
Or maybe it was wild boar and black pepper.
And it was the kangaroo ones that were honey and thyme.

I haven't chosen between fish cakes, fish fingers, beef burgers or egg on toast
whatever it is, it won't be venison steaks and terrine of foie gras or some posh shit that you lot always seem to be eating
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 18:41, archived)

i see blackberries in the woods near me, i don't eat them due to dog piss, i hate dogs

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:05, archived)
I go for a mid thigh cut off
I figure that if a dog has pissed on them above my war wound scar (long story I can make up if needed) then I would probably benefit from consuming trace elements of that big bad dogs urine.
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:09, archived)
i hate dogs, everything to do with dogs i hate, this extends to blackberries

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:10, archived)
i can get a good discount at the apple store for a one off purchase gonz
i'd like a pc but i want to use my tv as the screen, what do?
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:06, archived)
What kind of telly you got?
You could pick up something like a MacMini, but I reckon this month they'll be introducing new models so it would be worth holding out a couple of weeks.
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:10, archived)
sony bravia
i looked at the mini macs, they look ok, i know the laptops are good but i'd like to go back to an all in one system i think
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:12, archived)
Do you know if the tell is "1080p" / "FullHD" ? 'cus then it would make a well decent monitor.
The 'macbook' (eg, non 'pro') are also, I reckon, gonna get a refresh this month.... basicly, there is a new version of OSX (like saying 'new version of windows'), and the hardwares are due for an upgrade around now too, so it makes sense they'll put them hand-in-hand.

I'm mostly a laptop user because I used to travel around a lot and so it made sense, and now I'm not really a gamer it's a habit that has carried on. Aside work, I haven't used a desktop in 8ish years.

The battery life on the apple machines are second to none, when I first got my Macbook Pro, I could get easerly 8-9 hours, and even after a year now I can get 5-6 hours.... so might be good for L@TL or whatever.
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:19, archived)
thing is gonz i've got 2 netbooks n phones and that
i was just looking at the imac, could i plug my ps3 into it and watch tv? i cant work it out
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:21, archived)
should be fine, that's the model number?

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:47, archived)
I *think* you can, but not without playing around with some sort of different hardware.
They got quite big screens and I *think* Mohalla uses his iMac as a telly, so he might know better. You can naturally do the iPlayer like stuff.
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:48, archived)
well you can get hdmi to dvi adapters so that should be the worst way to achieve it, and that's fine.

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:50, archived)
Nah', aside the fact that they use DIsplayPort... it's video-out not video-in which is what he'd need.

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:55, archived)
what kind of resolution do you want? and what size screen
using a 50" HD tv as a monitor is mental. a 50" monitor on the other hand is mental for a whole different set of reasons.

If you have a TV you'll be using a 1920x1080 resolution which is pretty low for a pc monitor)
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:11, archived)
1920*1080 can not be considered low for a pc monitor

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:18, archived)
I agree, but it does depend on the screen size.

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:21, archived)
yes, but if he's after TV size
he's going to be sitting a good few feet away from it, so even if the res did increase he then would struggle to read stuff. We have a hd ready tv for our meetings at work just so everyone can read it, full hd wouldn't work
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:24, archived)
Yeah', you're right.

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:43, archived)
depends if you're a graphic designer wearing iSandals or not

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:26, archived)
i dont want anything over 32", and i want to use it as a monitor and a tv and sometimes picture in picture and i want to buy it from the apple store as i have a discount

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:18, archived)
the DPI on an HD monitor would not be acceptable to you
I'm on a laptop with a 14" screen now which runs at 720p res - 1366x768, doubling the physical size to 28" would be similar to a 1080p screen at 32" and it'd just be awful, everything would have to be huge, and you can't just sit further back from it, it's horrible sitting more than a couple of foot from a monitor when you're working.

A 30" monitor would run at a resolution of something like 2560x1600 on average. big difference from 1080p
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:24, archived)
the thing is, i have used my tv and sat away from it, i didn't care, and being able to watch digital tv and having a small screen in the corner i enjoyed

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:29, archived)
well you're either "special" or didn't do it for long enough
it's legally not possible.
(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:31, archived)

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:36, archived)
you do realise that £(apple - discount) >> £(normal online store) ..?

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:26, archived)
i think we may well be talking about different discounts

(, Sun 3 Jul 2011, 19:33, archived)
you are referring to lorry based discounts?
