seems impossible to believe but it's true.
Not that I'm suggesting we do that, just it's a curious fact.
I guess its something to do with us all being a bit friendlier and sharing a sense of humour (knowing it is all harmless banter).
Now everyone is really tetchy and quick to blame/point fingers/have a go at someone for something that hasn't actually happened

it's not calling people a cnut for the sake of it, it's wanting their lovely nest to be how they want it.
Plus there's a lot of peculiar humour to be had. Fail images wouldn't exist if this wasn't a perfectly normal human trait.
