Why do people buy 10 packs of cigarettes?
Are they not planning on smoking another 20 over the course of thier lives?

i've
never been gasping for 10 all at once, but if i only had £1.90 in my pocket (that tells you how long ago it was i smoked) i was only gonna be able to buy 10.

christ I remember when £1.90 would have got you 20 B&H
.. and you`d still have 70p change

the first time I gave up was when 20 went over £2, then again at £3 and so on and so forth

who on earth priced them at £1.31?
I didn`t smoke then, but it was back in the days when kids could buy ciggies for their parents

Do you sell loose ?
Ah that takes me back - paid weekly on a thursday, so thursday morning I used to buy 5 Weights (the older ones might remember that brand) and 5 matches in a conical paper bag (from't newsagent in Dewsbury Bus Station if you need to know that).
Then it was 'hmmm, 4 left, next one in 3 hours...'

It depends on circumstance.
In my younger years, towards the end of the payweek when there were only a few dollars in your wallet, it was usually a good idea to spend $5 on half a pack (even though it was $9 for a full pack).

Shit!
I do this! It's because you're a professional smoker when you make the transition to 20's. I'm not ready to accept that I might be in the big league yet.

similarly
I downgraded myself to social smoker, and don't want to be left with any the next day.
