Well, not quite. Sort of "Half way up a multi-storey carpark in Basingstoke" would be more accurate. But I'm happy, alive and busy.

# Usually because
1. they actually own their vehicles - not lease them from work

2. they don't want to have the ginormous cost of panel beating when they get hit by a cyclist for not indicating

nah, they live round the corner and i was on the bus home. the bus had to stop for the incident so i could see what was going on

# Funnily enough, this was inspired by being cut up by an Audi on my way to work this morning...
Waiting at traffic lights to join a roundabout - he pulled in front of me from the left lane, and then went right, all without indicating.

What the furg is so furging hard about being in the furging right-hand furging lane if you furging want to turn furging right? The furging left-hand lane is for turning furging left!

# i have to use a round about in the morning
where there is a single lane exit, but people go into the right hand lane to try and race around before the left lane
it's like a bloody drag race and quite scary
luckily my car is quite quick and i can usually get round without having to stop
(, Wed 22 Nov 2006, 12:48, archived)
# I'd find that acceptable
as long as there is no right-turn off the roundabout
(, Wed 22 Nov 2006, 12:50, archived)
# the arrows are painted on the road
left lane = left and straight on arrows
right lane = right arrow

but by right arrow people seem to think that it means straight on too because they can;t be arsed to wait in the queue
and the only reason there is a queue is because people in the left lane have to keep stopping to let the people in the right lane in.
(, Wed 22 Nov 2006, 12:55, archived)
# The problem with arrows painted on the road is
if you don't know the area and there is traffic, you can't see the arrows until you are just about to drive over them. At which point it is usually bloody impossible to change lane.
(, Wed 22 Nov 2006, 12:57, archived)
# nope
there are HUGE signs too
and they often drive along the wrong side of the road for about quarter of a mile to get in the right lane bit

I guess you have to see it to understand as my description isn;t very good
(, Wed 22 Nov 2006, 13:02, archived)
# I meant in general.
If you are driving in an area you don't know and it is not clear which lane you need to be in except what is painted in the road, and there is a lof of traffic. When you finally see that you are in the wrong lane, people won't let you change lanes because they think you are trying to get one over on them.
