Hehehe
cracking
There are about 3,000 verses in the original, too - plenty of time to evolve just about anything.

Absolutely Brilliant...
Now you should sneak into a church and leave them on the pews, see if ya can get everyone singing!

Yays
If I go into a church
I may spontaneously combust.
Or turn to ash, or something.

That's cool.
This is my favourite hymn - its contains knights dragons and giants, which is proof God made dragons and things.
When a knight won his spurs, in the stories of old,
He was gentle and brave, he was gallant and bold;
With a shield on his arm and a lance in his hand
For God and for valour he rode through the land.
No charger have I, and no sword by my side,
Yet still to adventure and battle I ride,
Though back into storyland giants have fled,
And the knights are no more and the dragons are dead.
Let faith be my shield and let joy be my steed
'Gainst the dragons of anger, the ogres of greed;
And let me set free, with the sword of my youth,
From the castle of darkness the power of the truth.

I haven't heard that in years
I like 'Guide me oh thou great Jehovah'

I have a love of Pie Jesu
but only because I had to sing it about 50 bazillion times in a two year period.

You've got to fight for what you want
For all that you believe
It's right to fight for what we want
To live the way we please
As long as we have done our best
Then no-one can do more
And life and love and happiness
Are well worth fighting for
And we should never count the cost
Or worry that we're poor
It's better to have fought and lost
Than not have fought at all
Let's always take whatever comes
And never try to hide
Face everything and anyone
Together side by side
*key change*
*repeat first verse to fade*

Stand up for your love rights
And don't you feel ashamed
Stand up for your love rights
And do it, do it, do it, do it

Stand up for your love rights
And do it, do it, do it, do it
what is that?
Its familiar, but I don't recall singing it in assembly ;)

Excellent!
You gave me the first laugh of my birthday. Great memories of calling my brother "the Flashing Gay".
This was before the internet invented gay as a sex thing.

When he phones later I shall play him this and taunt his strobing homosexuality.

I was a bit disappointed to hear at the start of the latest Doctor Who...
'...Let him in constancy, follow The Master.'
Then the little sprog didn't turn out to become The Master or anything like wot I was expecting.
Missed opportunity. Still, the end of that one was awesome. Nearly cried. Right up there with the end of Blackadder Goes Forth.
