# Good choice...
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:01, archived)
# I wonder what the odds were on him winning it.
I'm guessing about 1/10,000
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:03, archived)
# Perhaps this is the way to win an Oscar
I imagine next year Actors will kill themselves prior to the awards - Postumous Oscar is the way to go!

# Helps avoid tax too
Just ask Hotblack.

# I've maintained for a long time that
Dying is excellent for one's career in the limelight.

CF Jim Morrison, Sid Vicious, Kurt Cobain, Sting, Morrissey, Freddie Mercury, Paul Weller, Heath Ledger, River Phoenix, Steve Martin.
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:07, archived)
# LOL to Sting and Steve Martin :D

# Not to mention all the famous artists like Van Gogh etc. who died
in abject poverty how ironic that his art would be worth millions after he was dead!
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:10, archived)
# how more ironic
that Damien Hurst is still living among us and he doesn't even have the flu or a wheelchair or ANYTHING like that...

ironic and insulting mean the same thing don't that?
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:12, archived)
# Well in this instance yes it does.
Perhaps one day we can only hope that Half-Cows and Dead Sharks will assault him and place him in a perspect cube.
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:14, archived)
# there's a special place in hell for him I'm sure
they are probably working out how to half make monsters that don't leak everywhere :)
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:39, archived)
# I would rather be alive and not win
every day I don't win something is a plus ?!?!

SO thats why i never win anything!

# I watched this again on Saturday
and was even more awe-struck than the first time I watched it.

But where was Oldman's nomination? He's the unsung hero of that film in acting terms
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:04, archived)
# Well, can't really have two nominees from the same film...
And only one of them tragically died...
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:05, archived)
# And only one of them died...
fixed it.

# Agreed
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:05, archived)
# Agreed.
Heaths performance was just brilliant in my opinion, and is the reason that I now consider The Dark Knight to be second, if not the best Batman film.

Second after Batman and Robin obviously ;)
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:09, archived)
# Batman and Robin pffft!
how pants was that!
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:11, archived)
# It was so bad,
that despite being quite young when it came out, I still never managed to watch more than about 20 minutes of it.
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:16, archived)
# very much, and Eckhart as well
he kept the film 'grounded'
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:10, archived)
# And Michael Caine was wonderful too.
In fact, was there a bad performance in it?
(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:11, archived)
# ^^ this, its a fantastic film which ever way you look at it
And the imax scenes on Blu-ray...Sweet bejesus its beautiful :D

(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:18, archived)

(, Mon 23 Feb 2009, 11:28, archived)
