# Oh you bad person.
Jesus is going to shit in your wok.

But then he will in mine too - because I find this funny.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:36, archived)
# Yeah well,
the joke's on that guy because he actually worked for Lehman Brothers...
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:38, archived)
# Haaaaaaaahahahahahahhaha
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:39, archived)
# Ooof!
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:37, archived)
# Oh fuck!
Also, that documentary that was on Channel 4 on Monday night was great I thought.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:37, archived)
# Agreed
I couldn't stop watching.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:37, archived)
# There was one point in it,
after the buildings had collapsed and there was that video of the person looking out of the subway which just made me think, "How on earth can anyone think that this was an inside job? How can you think that any leader is ever going to sanction this?"
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:39, archived)
# OH MY GOD THEY GOT TO YOU TOO!
I think everyone should be made to watch that documentary, its very moving and shows just how fucked up the world we live in is.

I also thought that incidental music was totally unnessasary

ARGHHH 5000th post next!

# I actually felt myself really welling up seeing
the Firemen walking towards the tower, knowing what they were heading towards....
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:45, archived)
# Me too
When the guy on the switchboard was advising people in the towers to stay where they were and someone will come and get them
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:46, archived)
# :'(
It shocked me a bit the harshness of the people on the phonelines to those in the towers, but I can only assume that they had no idea how serious things would play out to be.

Was shocked to see Americans unwilling to be interviewed by someone with a camera too....
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:48, archived)
# What was the documentary called so I can 4od it?
ta.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:50, archived)
# Erm,
I think it was called 9/11: 102 minutes that changed the world.

It was made up of footage filmed on the day by New Yorkers.

I'll just double check that though....

EDIT: It doesn't seem to be on 4OD, there are a couple of others though.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:52, archived)
# Hang on, it isn't called 9/11, just 102 minutes that changed America.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:54, archived)
# nice one.
*points browser in that direction*
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:58, archived)
# If it's V V THIS V V, then it's already up on YouTube. Apols if not.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:23, archived)
# 9/11: something something

(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:54, archived)
# Ha ha ha! YOU FOUND THE STAR WARZ COEDZ!
:D

I hadn't seen the calls from the towers one. I shall watch that later....
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:55, archived)
# I don't want to see that one :(
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:58, archived)
# Aye, does seem rather a harrowing prospect.
Isn't it amazing how something that happened 8 years ago, in a country on the other side of the world can still put the fear into you.

But having said that, I still cry at the end of Blackadder goes Forth and that is a sitcom.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:00, archived)
# That gets me too.
Everytime.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:01, archived)
# I watched the Blackadder anniversary show again on Friday night,
and was in tears just seeing the 10 second clip. Also, what I found utterly amazing, is that until the filming of said documentary, Ben Elton had never in fact visited the graves of Northern France.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:07, archived)
# Yep, that and the end to Doctor Who's 'Human Nature' 2-parter, around the cenotaph.
(And the penultimate chapter of Mario Galaxy's storybook, and that's a putergame...)
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 14:23, archived)
# The people jumping! D:
It was respectful when one guy was filming, realised that someone had jumped and moved the camera away.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:01, archived)
# I watched the 'falling man' documentary the other week,
that was a hard watch.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:04, archived)
# Just saw that listed on 4OD too.
This may sound like a stupid question, but is that a whole documentary about that one dude and his family or something?
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:06, archived)
# There was more than one man that jumped
on that 102mins documentary there were loads jumping.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:07, archived)
# Well yeah, but I mean the iconic one.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:07, archived)
# What about the other jumpers
They don't all get tv shows :(
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:09, archived)
# It was about them all but in centred around the image of that one man.
That has to be one tough decision.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:11, archived)
# I know.
I still to this day can't imagine being in a situation where jumping from 50 floors up is your best chance of survival :(
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:14, archived)
# It was probably a matter of how to get the quickest and least painful death.
Not a nice decision. From that height though, even if you land feet first your brain will be destroyed before you have time to feel any pain.
Just the mind numbing terror of falling to worry about.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:19, archived)
# Oh yeah, undoubtedly.
Still, to take that jump must be a fucking awful last thing to do on earth :(
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 13:02, archived)
# Well it is the same as anything isn't it.
Why don't all the children of Vietnam get media coverage when there are often articles about Kim Phuc running from the Napalm attack?

People find it a lot easier to relate to someone in a picture that they have burned onto their consciences.

I seem to remember seeing a few years ago a documentary on the firemen of New York. That was pretty heartbreaking.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:13, archived)
# they didn't charge the same flat rate

# I liked the bit where the 2nd tower got hit
and the people screamed and went "Im getting the fuck outta here"
Then ran and picked up a tiny top and ran to the elevator
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:00, archived)
# I did not see that bit.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:01, archived)
# You didnt see impact
Just a massive fireball halfway up the tower.

And then panic
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:02, archived)
# :O
I shall have to watch it again.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:09, archived)
# that was odd.

# Anyone see that doco the other day?
The quote from an eye witness that sold it to me, 'We should invade Finland and the other Arab countries!'
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:38, archived)
# They'd not be so far wrong
Finland is still surprisingly racist & homophobic - which is why we always gay it up when we're there :D
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:42, archived)
# There's a big difference between being racist and homophobic,
and being a group of terrorists capable of such horrific atrocities.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:46, archived)
# Well at least you're not generalising.
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:47, archived)
# Ha!
Frenchman eh? They smell eh? Am I right? Eh? Eh?
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:56, archived)
# No they're not.
They're just a bunch of cunts:P
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 12:04, archived)
# Is that what he actually said?
I was just walking back into the room when he said that and I assumed that I must have heard it wrong :(
(, Wed 9 Sep 2009, 11:44, archived)
# Hahaha!
Wonderful.
:D
