In light of the rash of shit compos of late
I suggest that you shouldn't be allowed to add a compo idea unless you posted an entry in the previous one.
Geezuzfuck i'd even nazi it up and have no voting unless you've entered the previous weeks comp!

In the spirit of open and transparent government...
Please can we see the number of clicks against each image post on /board and against each image challenge suggestion post in the image challenge suggestion board.
Thanks.
P.S. Delete button in My Images needs to start working, and Robtoo still hasn't fixed the Search function for page 3 onwards.
Love you!

A few bug requests
-Add one where the preview button sends the post as a private message to a random user and then deletes it instead of previewing
-Also one where a small percentage of main board posts are delayed 12 hours to a year before appearing to anyone else
-Please, some more text size, font or color errors
-"Best of the board" should sometime break down and display the last 32 thousand front page posts with no formatting
-"Best of the board" shows recent posts of most-ignored users instead of top-rated posts
( , Wed 3 Jun 2009, 18:29, 1 reply, 16 years ago)

There are so many heart-wrenching sob stories these days
And people give the hackneyed response: ` "I like this" seems inappropriate this gave me a lump in my throat blah blah blah *click* '
Perhaps you could add the ability for the author to flag their answer as a sob story, and then instead of "I like this" it will automagically say "I laugh heartily at your misfortune" or some such unfriendly sentiment. Ho hum.

Optional filtering of only 'i made this' posts on the links board. Like a version of 'popular'
We need a Sky News type campaign - "See it first on B3ta" where you get the 'i made this' tag as an optional seperate feed that filters out the rest.
Lots of links to news stories that appear on the top 10 BBC News links or Videos you see highlighted elsewhere on popular sites dilute the creativity b3ta is famous for.
I was going to reply to www.b3ta.com/questions/bugs_and_feature_requests/post431512 but it might get overlooked.

Fuckin youtube.
Dear Rob,
please allow a 'no you tube video' button. Or dont allow any videos with more than 50,000 views. It is getting really annoying at the moment.
Cheers

Fix the newsletter css in mobilesafari
The text / background elements don't render correctly and double tapping the text zooms to show only ~80% of the text.
Alternatively get a b3tard to do mobile smartphone b3ta css. I'm sure they'd take payment of 1 month of mod power.

After this most 'shake and vat' jingle made by mr fnord,
I propose we have a 'post of the week' where such gems can be exhibited and lauded over. It would be rather spiffing.

What about splitting /board into two..
...so that the people who want to actually post funny images could post on /humour, whilst the people who want to show how well they can trace or similar such stuff could post on /squirrelswithtits

We need a /debate board
/Links board keeps getting drawn into political/social and dare I say it conspiritial discussions.
If we had somewhere news and discussion links had space to expand without getting in the way of proper b3tan concerns, I'm sure we would all be a bit happier.

Ignore
If I have someone on ignore, but one of my friends likes them, their posts still show up in Friends' Activity. Can my ignore preferences override their likes please?

You know that 'last posted five minutes ago' text
in your friends list?
How about that text links to the post itself, so you canstalk join your favourite b3tans in the thread they're currently posting in?

I'm moving shortly
and since b3tans seem to be everywhere, a map showing where they all are would be nice*. Not actual addresses or anything - maybe they can be organised by county or town or something? It'd be nice to see if I'll have any b3tan friends where I'm going.
*credit to Light in Chains for the idea.

/Links.
How about, maybe just one or 2 days off the week, you make /links a youtube free zone?
Ok, there are some genuinely funny/brilliant things on Youtube but some days /links might as well just be called www.b3ta.com/youtube.

"Allow nested replies" checkbox for QOTW posts.
There seems to be a bit of a disagreement over whether or not nested replies on QOTWOT is a good idea. As a compromise, may I suggest that when starting a new thread, there should be a checkbox that lets you choose whether or not you allow the nested-replies thingy to work on replies to your thread. That way, people who want to start an old-style thread can do so. As well as QOTWOT, some people might also want to do this on the other QOTWs.

Notification
Can we have something that tells us when someone responds to one of our posts?
I hate to say it, but similar to Facebook - Either an email or a gaz telling us that someone's commented on a post we've made, or replied to a reply that we've done.

/talk refreshy single thread idea
only losers scroll down and reply to threads after the top thread on /talk
it'd be nice to have an option to just show the top thread instead of loading the entire page again
and it would even save you a bit of bandwidth, unless you're planning a rewrite with funky AJAX shizzle

Editing subject lines in /links
It seems to be possible for a short while, every so often, and then it no longer works again. Whilst the edit link works, any changes made to the subject link are ignored

Another QOTW request please thankyou...
although I know you're probably getting sick of these by now.
For Off Topic, could clicking 'I like this' do something other than launching a fancy pop-up thanking us for voting?
You could do all kind of fancy things with the resultant votes. I dream of hitting a revered 'Off Topic popular page' because, quite frankly, I haven't got a sneeze in Mexico's chance of making it onto any of the others. You could even add the posts we click to our 'liked' posts in our profile. The possibilities are endless!
I might have to go and have a bit of a lie down now.
