This is a question The last thing that made me cry

I wept for my cat last week despite trying to be all hard and manly. What's made you cry recently?

dumbo
always guaranteed to make me cry as a child was disney's Dumbo - when they lock his mother up for being a loon, and that little gimpy mouse takes baby dumbo to see her and she rocks him to sleep even though she's chained up in her cage.
thought i was over it but forced myself to watch it again after a few years break...... but after that scene, i was a helpless blubbering wreck on the couch yet again.
i am nearly 23.

Ooooh......
A few days ago. I (a teacher) had been observed in my worst class by my program advisor, without any warning and about an hour or two to prepare. Also, my husband and I were preparing to leave that evening for six hours on the road, so I had to get about two days' worth of material for my students to work on while I was gone. Too, the reason we were going is, to make a long story short, one of our relatives is being bullied by an agency and we were supposed to testify as character witnesses (they're trying to say she's unfit to take care of our grandfather, yet somehow it seems to be more about money than any concern for his welfare). To add to this, I had to talk to a parent about her son being a brat in class, and this plus the observation meant I had to stay even later to get the next couple of days' classwork ready. Also, there was the fact that I had had about 12 hours of sleep in the previous three days AND PMT. When we finally left the school at almost six, and I realized that with all the stuff we had to do before we left, we would probably get to where we were going at one or two in the morning, I started tearing up and sniffling. My husband realized what was going on, and kept asking what was wrong. I couldn't quite give a particular answer, but what was running through my mind was "We're too late and I'm too tired and I'm a crappy teacher and this hearing's going to go badly and I'M NOT GOING TO GET ANY FOR A WEEK! WAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"

Cinema Paradiso
when the young guy tells the girl that he loves her and she says she doesn't love him, and he says that he will stand out in front of her window every single night and wait for her to love him, and then he proceeds to do so.

it didn't make me cry at the time, but just the other day, over a year ago, i thought of it and burst into tears at the sadness of it.

oh, and in Mr. Holland's Opus when John Lennon dies?

I sobbed.

The demise . . .
. . . of my car. Ran it into the back of a very nice lady's pickup truck.

I cried. She laughed at me. The guy in the unmarked police car laughed at me. The CHP officer laughed at me. My dad laughed at me. The tow truck driver laughed at me.

Best of all? Random people driving north on the 23 freeway got to laugh at me. And I missed two classes.

Suck.

Seeing the one I love
for the first time in two years, across a room, yesterday evening. We both tried not to look at each other, for reasons simultaneously very similar and very different. Love and hate.

Then happy tears when everything seemed to perk up a little

Then sad again when it plummetted back down

"Daddy. My Daddy"
Jenny Agutter at the end of the film of the Railway Children, running down the platform towards her father shouting, "Daddy. My Daddy". Brings a tear to my eye every time.

She also brings a tear to my eye in Logan's Run, Walkabout and (especially) An Amercian Werewolf in London ... but that is for an entirely different reason :-)

This morning, leaving home again for another crap term at uni. Just the thought that I have another 10 weeks of living in the cell I'm charged extortionate amounts of money for brings a tear to my eye.

Schindler's List was a 'full box of tissues' film.

Funny that, I only wanked once.

Thank you, please tip the waitress on the way out.

many, many things...
I cry in Romantic Comedies...

But mostly, I cry when my boyfriend gets mad or stressed cos im so bloody in love with him that whenever he gets stressed, I start sobbing to death (he doesnt know, so dont tell).

But the last time i cried was when my father once again hurt me. I think i can now cry at will, because of all the times he has made me cry... oh dont worry, no need to call social services.

Tears of pain.
The last time I cried was a few weeks ago when I accidentaly sprayed deodorant into my eye. I don't know weather it was the immensae pain or my eye just trying to flush it out that made me cry for over half an hour.
I now use the lynx deodorants with the siding tops and put on a shirt before deodorant; I dont want to have to relive the experience.

for some reason
the last flight of Concorde brought a tear to my eye. I don't really know why; I'm not particularly patriotic and it was ultimately a white elephant air limo for people with too much money, but I guess I'm a sucker for emotive, melodramatic TV coverage.

I'm scared of them. So logging on to b3ta this week to be confronted with a whole pageful of the nasty little bastards brought me to the edge. And in hats, and stuff. eeeeeeee.

Kitty
When i was about 8 or 9 we got this tiny little kitten, we let it out one night when it was about 3 or 4 months, it stayed out all night, something it had never done before.

The next morning when i got up i opened the door to shout him in he was lying at the door. He was in alot of pain so we immediately took him to the vets and i went to school. I got called to the school reception about lunchtime and my mum was there, she took me up to the vet and i could see by looking at her sommit was wrong.

When we got there the vet showed us into the holding bit and i saw him lying in one of those cages with a tube coming out of his side and looking very poorly.

She told me that they were going to have to put it down because its bowels had been twisted and it had internal damage which they said seemed to come from several sharp blows or what they thought was definately kicks...

i could have cried then but i didnt, i kissed my kitty and told him it would be okay and he would be fine and i was shown out, a couple of mins later my mum came out crying and i knew that was it, they had put him down.

i took the rest of the day off school and cried alot in my bedroom out of sadness and anger because what kind of fuckign idiot would do that!!!

i still get angry thinking about it 11 years on.

:*(

Sorry for length etc etc etc

The "Valse Triste" segment in "Allegro Non Troppo"
I've seen that part three times and I've cried each time. It's not just a simple tear, either; we're talking three tissues crying and blubbing.
