This is a question Heroes and villains of 2011

Who were your heroes or villains of the last year, and why? Who inspired you? Who had you kicking the cat across the room? They don't have to be well known, you might even want to laud the achievements of your binman. (Note that "Nick Clegg nuff said" answers puts you straight onto our naughty list)

Villains: Everyone who criticised the killing of Osama bin Laden.
I bet none of them would say that if it was their relative who'd died in the World Trade Center, and that was the only way they could be brought back to life.

EDIT: Yes, what an awful thing to say. Read it again.

Who?

(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 8:05, closed)
Yep, the summary execution of alleged murderers with no-one raising an eyebrow.
That's obviously what the world needs more of.
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 9:52, closed)

wooooosh?
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 9:58, closed)
Careful, that nearly knocked my hat askew.

(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 11:11, closed)
osama
Yes, the shooting of an unarmed and untried man in front of his grandchildren. Very heroic. Very uplifting.
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 12:37, closed)

Well they could not find the great grandkids.
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 15:23, closed)
Aye, true
I mean, it's not like all the people whose deaths he was responsible for actually had families, eh?

If they'd have captured him and taken him to trial, there would have been bombs going off everywhere. He wasn't Baden Fucking Powell you know.
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 18:15, closed)

Are you certain about that? Are you absolutely certain that putting him on trial would have resulted in bombs going off everywhere? Where would these bombs be going off? In the US or the UK where it's quite difficult to get bombs to begin with. Or in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan where bombs are already going off all the time?
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 20:42, closed)
The bombs would be up your ass.

(, Sun 1 Jan 2012, 19:16, closed)
That's the kind of thing a terrorist would say.

(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 21:34, closed)

We are currently at war.

He was as much an enemy as the insurgents being fought in Afghanistan and Iraq.
(, Sun 1 Jan 2012, 4:20, closed)
Have all those who died in the World Trade Center come back to life then?
I've got to admit I'd missed that bit of news.
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 14:35, closed)
So the jews did the zombie apocalypse?

(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 15:01, closed)
It wasn't joy, it was relief, right?

(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 15:25, closed)
all part of barack obamalamadingdong's
new official assassination policy
and passed in to law as well the right for the us army to operate in the continental us for the first time in history, this my american friends means that you are no longer the free country that you thought you were
obamalamadingdong's has sold you lock stock and barrel to the military industrial complex and the next war will be in syria and then africa as they try to control the resources and wealth of that region, they already fund train and equip the next terrorist organizations out there and have no qualms about sending us soldiers out die against millitia that they have created to further profits of corperations.
dont just take my word for it research it your self.
do you think libya was about democracy? think again what would have happebnd if the gold dinar became a reality ? no more oil dollar tradeing and the us economy down the pan, look who now controls the oil wealth of libya it isnt the libiyans any more
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 17:12, closed)
The strange thing about Libya was
that everyone everywhere suddenly had rifles and lots and lots of bullets. Hmmm.
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 20:39, closed)
Dodging the mandatory several days waiting period
by getting them off the back of a (military industrial complex) truck & buying you bullets at Kmart to save money - smart rebels!
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 21:03, closed)
yeah
they probably got them at walmart.
(, Sat 31 Dec 2011, 21:04, closed)
nope
you lost it at "obamalamadingdong". Bastardising the guy's name isn't actually the height of satirical wit; it just makes you sound like the commenters on the Fox News website, who start with "Obummer" and get progressively madder down the thread via "Odickhead" to "THAT UPPITY NEGRO" in block caps.
(, Mon 2 Jan 2012, 18:59, closed)
The Obamalamadingdong bit
was the funniest part of this thread, after the 'relatives being resurrected' and the zombie apocalypse.

Sorry to be late to the party, but I've only just read this.
And what a load of bollocks it is. Osama Bin laden was a symptom of a factionalised world; getting rid of him is no more a cure than shooting the wife's lover because she is cheating on you.
(, Sun 1 Jan 2012, 22:04, closed)
Politics aside...
that would pretty much stop her cheating on you with him though wouldn't it?
(, Sun 1 Jan 2012, 22:52, closed)
With him yes, but like I say: ridding yourself of the current symptom, and not curing the underlying problem...

(, Sun 1 Jan 2012, 23:17, closed)
Quite cathartic...
although there is the 'prison' issue to deal with.
(, Mon 2 Jan 2012, 10:11, closed)
dont forget who aremd and traind and organised the mujahadeen agaisnt the russians?
yes thats right it was good old uncle sam and by chance the man who was the point of that operation was indeed mr bin laden, in iraq it was the british and americans who helped and suported sadam husien until he became fulll of himself and stoped lestening to his pupet masters and had to go.how did we know he had the ability to make chemical and biological weapons? easy donald rumsfeld's corporation sold the technology to them
(, Mon 2 Jan 2012, 13:54, closed)
I just watched
Body of Lies, next time I want something "done right" I'll be talking to the Jordanian Intelligence & Security Forces.
Also I couldn't help thinking ...
(, Mon 2 Jan 2012, 5:41, closed)
This is obviously something hysterically funny
disguised as something tedious and shit.
(, Mon 2 Jan 2012, 11:09, closed)
I was going to reply with something full of hate and spitting...
but then I saw who had posted it and realised it was unnecessary.
