This is a question Old stuff I still know

Our Ginger Fuhrer says that he could still code up a simple game idea in Amstrad Basic, while I'm your man if you ever need to rebuild the suspension on an Austin Allegro (1750 Equipe version). This stuff doesn't leave your mind - tell us about obsolete talents you still have.

HHeLiBeBCNOFNeNaMgAlSiPSClArKa... I think. I can still say it in my head phonetically as one word, 20 years after my Chemistry GCSE.

A mine of useless information.
I can solve a rubiks cube in about a minute. I can tell you all the trivia of the Rocky saga, including why "steadycam" came about. I can also advise you on why drinking is very bad for you, but I drink anyway. Not to put too fine a point on it, I also have a very violent cat, but I'm quite the opposite. I'm a bouncer btw.

Stupid very early Channel 4 kids programme.....
It was called Everybody Here and the presenter would say the name of the show very quickly over and over again dropping one letter....e.g.

Everybody, verybody, erybody, rybody, ybody, body, ody, dy, y.

I can do that really really fast. And also the mantra for a free big mac really quckly too.

Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles etc etc.

Oh fuck...what a sad life I lead.

I remembered last night
That I can slice a banana without opening or cutting the peel. It's not much of a talent, but watching my 4 year old nieces reaction when she peeled it made me glad I remembered I could do it.

How to adjust a camchain tensioner tensioner tensioner.
On a Kawasaki Z500 there is a camchain tensioner, that is pushed on by a sprung tensioner itself pushed onto by a threaded tensioner. The limit of movement is reached when the chamfered faces of the sprung and threaded tensioners are lined up. To get some extra play and be able to tighten up the tensioner tensioner tensioner, remove the threaded tensioner, file off a few mill from the leading edge of the chamfer, then replace. As the chamfer now has a blunt edge, this allows a few extra mill of movement between the faces of the threaded and sprung tensioner which will push the main tensioner slightly further than it should, thus increasing the tension of the cam chain and stopping a rattle.

How to chill out when I find the the rare amount of time available
When I was a teenager I studied, drunk heavily with friends and on the nights where I wasn't doing this I was basically the King of Sloth and did next to fuck all.
I am now a parent, working long hours and constantly being requested to help others or do "man-jobs" ie gardening,DIY and other shit invented by God to kill our sanity.
So now I am the master of finding gaps in my time and lazing about with the skills of yesteryear, so much so that I've managed to get myself a 2 hour window of complete fuck-all-dom to lounge about in a cafe in Tenby right now while posting this on my Blackberry.
Do I look or feel smug? All I need is a croisant :)

560932
was the phone number of my first secret crush in 1981. Of course I never ever dared to call her, but I spent so much time with my finger hovering over the dial, thinking "shall I? SHALL I?" that her number will be in my head forever. Saw her again at a school reunion last year and out of all the girls she was the only one who is still hot and smart and likeable after all these years. Sigh.

I remember the 16 different ways of saying "the" Germans have.
Der, die, das, die, den, die, das, die, des, der, des, der, dem, der, dem, den.
Each set of 4 applying to Neuter, Accusative, Genitive and Dative.
I struggled manfully with these to the Germans, when I finally met real ones, and they thought I was mental, they don't bother with any of it, just using a basic "duh".
Most useless shit I learnt in my life, and Monday's brekkies is a mystery.
