Please help me, this is driving me up the wall.
Sometime in the late 80's there was a TV program on late at night about a couple who had been childhood sweethearts, got married, then divorced but still kept in touch.
The theme tune was by Elvis Costello I believe.
I need to know the title.
If not, I know that the main character was in a film with Jeniffer Aniston as I saw a scene on the TV a few years ago with him and her walking through a jungle. I've been on IMDB and clicked all her films, but I can't remember which one it is, and I can't see the chap in the cast listings.

In 1984, Smith was tortured in room 101 with having a cage of rats strapped to his face.
What dear OTers would your greatest fear be?

just keeps on giving.
I think Australia has pissed off the Man Upstairs. First we had the bushfires, then half of Queensland is under water for weeks, then a bloody earthquake and now a bloody category 5 cyclone is about to hit.
At least this time it's not aiming at me. Looks like the Whitsunday Islands are first in the firing line then Northern Queensland.
Still, at least it's rarely dull over here.
Cheers

about favourite smells that do it for you - I did a bit of research and discovered the name of the man perfume that I for some inexplicable reason really like.
Joop! Nightflight + rollies + Eclipse peppermint = me trying not to jump on whoever's wearing it.
What's your favourite smell that really "does it" for you?

So apparently it's Great Aunt Sylvia's 90th Birthday in November.
Great Aunt Sylvia lives in Melbourne.
Dad has asked me to come with, as he makes a UK guest appearance at said party.
So, Melbourne. November. Any B3tans around to make it worth my while?

Anyone thinking of having a few pints in Alnwick should they be passing through would do well to read this review site first...
Made me giggle, anyway.

Post one thing that is true (and mildly interesting) about yourself. I'll get started in the replies.
(I would like to try and stop lying on the internet more)

Following on from here www.b3ta.com/questions/offtopic/post381845 'Control 77' is the name of the band.
Mr Bass Player and Drummer have learnt 5 songs already. The guitarist is one of those people who will simply listen to the song and pick up pretty much straight away. So, for our 1st five I want these:
Transmission
Digital
Shadowplay
Warsaw
She's lost Control
I don't know yet which 5 BP and D know but I think the above is a good start.
I'm so excited!!! Its been far to long since I did anything with a band.
EDIT: 1st songs are She's lost Control, Shadowplay, Transmission and Love Will Tear Us Apart - 1st practise is likely to be next weekend.

I think its been enough time to say this but it has been bothering me quite a lot.
John Peel played a load of old shit didnt he?
No one actually enjoyed that show did they? Wasnt it all just fucking noise? Just cos bands played on JP, didnt make them any good or special. It was all a bit emperors new clothes to me.
He seemed like an absolutely quality bloke, and loved what he did. But was it because he liked it that he was respected, not the actual music?

I'm officially unimpressed. First off, everything here in Australia is either trying to eat me, poison me, suck my blood or burn me to death.
Now they drop an earthquake on me.
No idea how big it was but I was having a bath at the time and it threw the room, and the water, around something rotten. Lots of rattling noises.
Scared me bloody witless for a few minutes. Only lasted a few seconds but that was long enough.
Of course, tomorrow it'll turn out to be a 1.1 or something equally piddly but it was big enough for me.
So how are your days going?
Cheers

After the resounding success of my previous Orange-Squash related poll, I thought I'd consult the b3ta oracle again.
So, for every part of Kia-Ora, howmany parts water should I use to dilute it.

I review and contribute news to JAMM
I read an article on Monday in my local paper about a company near me that has an interesting line in netbook and laptop bags, and after discussion with the team I am meeting the public relations director this morning to get freebies for review. The director is so excited about his products being reviewed on a national level, that he's taking me to lunch after the meeting.
We're hoping I can walk away with lots of goodies!
