I am in a filthy mood today
but I have tried to rouse my spirits by BUYING STUFF.

I've pre-ordered the Lemmy DVD, I have also pre-ordered Steve Hillage live at the Deeply Vale Festival double album on rainbow-coloured vinyl (very excited about this purchase), a t shirt and some jeans.

What have you got on order that you're excitedly waiting for?

Alt: When you're supremely fucked off, what do you do to cheer yourself up? I've tried cracking one off in my local Waitrose and even that failed to amuse.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 14:51, 167 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
My jeans came today which has made me pleased. I'm still waiting on a christmas present dvd, a hoodie, a laptop pad holder thing and something else which I can't remember
I recite the lords prayer and screamwank in Tescos. Waitrose is too far to walk.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 14:54, Reply)
Why are you in bad mood?
That is to say, a even worse mood than usual?
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 14:54, Reply)
My shitty little life is ever-so-slightly collapsing around my ears.

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:00, Reply)
*grits teeth*
There there, old boy.
*sharp intake of breath*
I hope things pick up for you soon.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:01, Reply)
Nothing at all sadly
I think by not including the Lords Prayer in your wank, it will only be average at best.

Alt Q: I drink, and that's my main problem.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 14:56, Reply)
oh em gee I still haven't gotten my N-Dubz Uncle B cd
and I ordered it like a month ago

alt: I whine. Whining makes me feel better.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 14:57, Reply)
I really don't know how I forgot to mention that
especially when it's on here that I do most of my whining.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:17, Reply)
A cardigan arrived today
sadly it's rather too small. I'm going to keep it though as an 'aim item.'

Alt Q: music, hide myself away, eat food, read a book or go to the gym
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 14:58, Reply)
Alt: Anger wanks or retail therapy.
I ordered a bunch of things off Amazon on Boxing Day with vouchers I'd received as gifts. Half got delivered yesterday, and God only knows when I'll get the other lot, lazy cunting postmen.

I'd ordered some graphic novels, a new iPod car stereo adapter and a NIN blu-ray.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 14:58, Reply)
My christmas present from my Mum is on order now
Cherry Red patent, 14-eyelet DMs. I'm so horribly excited.

Alt Q: Listen to really loud ska. This is not recommended for all.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 14:59, Reply)
I love 60s Jamaican ska
but that 2-Tone bollocks was a load of old shit.

Honestly? No.

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:10, Reply)
Dammit.
Oh well, I'm going to have a smoke and carry on listening. It's kept me in a good mood.

A moomin purse
That I'm STILL WAITING FOR. I need to order my mum's birthday present as well. And think of something for the Boy's birthday.

Dance. Dancing makes everything better. I also like to look at past flings and exes on facebook and laugh at how pathetic and ugly they are now.

Damn you, reminding me how awesome the moomins is

these days, typically Tool, Ticks and Leeches is a good one because of the angry finish going
"I hope you choke"

but Slayer, the heavier Metallica stuff (Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Death Magnetic), Spineshank that sort of stuff
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:10, Reply)
Spineshank started well, but went downhill
Shit live too.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:10, Reply)
I've only really heard the album Height of Callousness
which is pretty good all the way through.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:11, Reply)
It's their best for sure
Self-Destructive Pattern has some good tracks, especially 'Dead to Me'.
Strictly Diesel I like the least, but still has some good tunes on.

I only know that I know 1 track off Self-Destructive Pattern, but I'm sure I've heard more
Smothered.

I love a bit of spineshank though
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:12, Reply)
One of my favourite angry Tool songs that, especially the end
"Is this what you wanted? 'Cos this is what you're getting!"

they way he spits the words "parasitic little tick" is good too

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:14, Reply)

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:19, Reply)
best angry song ever
"take the long road and walk it" by the music - amazing.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:21, Reply)
That's as angry as you listen to?
Wow. I must have serious problems.

The ultimate angry song ever is likely Hammer Smashed Face by Cannibal Corpse.

Although I think yours might claim more artistic merit went into it...
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:23, Reply)
I don't see the point in listening to angry music when you're angry
That said, there are some times when only The Distillers will do.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:26, Reply)
YOU'RE FUCKING DEAD TO ME! YOU'RE FUCKING DEAD TO ME!
YOU'RE FUCKING DEAD TO ME! YOU'RE FUCKING DEAD TO ME!
Sorry, just singing along to this song.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:27, Reply)
I'm listening to The Distillers now
It's quite frightening how music can totally change my mood. I've gone from totally chilled to wanting to kick someone's head in in the space of one song.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:32, Reply)
I get the same with Oasis.

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:34, Reply)
Haha
This is why I have to listen to music on shuffle. It keeps me balanced and non-murdery.

Most of the time.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:37, Reply)
see, I find heavy metal soothing and relaxing
If I'm in a bad mood listening to something inoffensive but mellow is likely to make it worse.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:39, Reply)
Carcass are good at making me happy
But for background music, while I'm reading or whatever, there are few albums on the same level as 'Crack The Skye'
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:40, Reply)
Same here
Fast, heavy and angry music are best for me.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:41, Reply)
I accept that
But if I'm in a foul mood anyway, I can just put on a nice bit of ska and everything seems much better. Unless I'm seriously, seriously angry at someone, at which point I break out the heavy stuff. It never helps though. It's the same as listening to sad music when you're depressed - why?
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:49, Reply)
Oh no, I just need to hear the first bars of 'Wonderwall' and I go murderous
My best friend is fully aware of this, and so plays it every time I see him live.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:40, Reply)
Godsmack isn't it?

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:34, Reply)
They were a pretty good band

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:34, Reply)
yeah, I like their stuff
"I stand alone" in particular.

they did an acoustic album or EP or something, which is also worth checking out
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:36, Reply)
Maybe, but this was 'Dead to Me' by Spineshank
Godsmack were good though.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:39, Reply)
Chimaira with 'Pure Hatred' is some of the most entertainingly ridiculous angry lyrics I've ever heard.
But I love that track.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:41, Reply)
they'd claim it
but they'd be wrong
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:27, Reply)
My thoughts exactly

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:29, Reply)
the music are fucking shit
most up their own arse band name anyone has ever thought of

those fucking wankers.

even Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit is a better angry song
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:27, Reply)
Have a joint
and spend money I haven't got on stuff I don't need. On amazon/hmv or similar, usually.

I am waiting for a pair of boots that I bought before Christmas but the cunting courier tracking says they have been delivered when they blatantly have not, as I was in at the time it says they called. I have fired off two extremely grumpy emails to the company as well as tried to call them, but their call centre is shut and I haven't had a reply. I suspect the company has gone under or the courier has simply nicked my boots and flogged them on ebay. Seething does not quite cover how I feel.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:08, Reply)
That really is poor. Unlucky.

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:13, Reply)

How come your life is taking a brown shower?
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:15, Reply)
Just general shit.
I'm seeing my child this evening, that's the only thing stopping me from embarking on an almighty drink and drugs session which would only make things worse for me, so that's a good thing.

It's an excellent thing
what are you and Len going to do then?

(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:23, Reply)
Nope.
Royal Mail, Parcelforce and TNT, depending on what I'm sending. They are all utter shit.

I gave DPD a try last year - they gave me a price based on anticipated traffic of 50-80 parcels a day - and turned up each night in a transit van with enough room for about 10. Total spastics the lot of them.

I am impressed with your poleskillz. I have a query though, are the moves static, and if so how long would you tend to hold them for?

or is the aim to move fluidly from one to another?
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:42, Reply)
Thanks
The ones in the pictures are static, yes. Hold them for a couple of second each, and then transition into the next one, usually without coming down. I don't really have enough room for transitions in my room though, so when I practice here, it tends to be: 'one move, come down, start again' rather than 'position - transition - position - transition' etc.
(, Thu 6 Jan 2011, 15:45, Reply)
it did look like quite a small room
you should get some charity shop crockery and put it around the place, then video a comedy pole routine where you kick it all to pieces.
