I've had some lovely scran tonight.
What are you having?
(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 20:35, 181 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I made some veggie fajitas.
They were lovely.

What did you dine on?
(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 20:40, Reply)
Plov.
It's a kind of pilaf from Uzbekistan.

Then oatflake and ginger biscuits with a cup of tea.

Home made biscuits?

(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 20:49, Reply)
Tetleys.
How come you're not having any meat?
(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 20:49, Reply)
Now and again I'll take some time away from the dead animal.
As much as I like eating meat, I'm not against veggie food.

Variety innit.
(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 20:51, Reply)
Good to hear.
I've decided that since I'm not drinking at the moment, I'm going to treat myself to some nice biscuits at the weekend.
(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 20:54, Reply)
I like Yorkshire tea.
Tetleys doesn't have enough taste for me liking, but saying that, I like my tea without milk - which more people find odd.
(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 21:04, Reply)
Yorkshire tea is nice too.
You're an odd bugger generally, aren't you?
(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 21:07, Reply)
How am I odd?

(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 22:35, Reply)

And that is 2 of your 5 a day?

Did you have a nice curry berk?
(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 22:37, Reply)
I had a lovely curry Jeff
I was quite proud of myself for not overly stuffing my face and making myself ill, and even more proud of myself for somehow dodging the hangover bullet I richly deserved.

Oh man, I'm so pleased you started a food thread, I wanted to say what I made but didn't wanna do it out of the blue.
I fried some onions and chorizo in a bit of oil, toasted some pine nuts, made some couscus with chicken stock, mixed the above with a few raisons, stuffed them in some red peppers, a slice of motzrella on top, a small dolop of tandory paste..... then put it in the oven on a low light for about 40 minutes, then grilled the top to get it crispy.

OH MAN, I'm a great chefologist.

I had an awesome weekend thankyouforasking
Food was great, company was great, I drank a ridiculous amount (for me) and somehow dodged my hangover, then did a bit of shopping/browsing/drinking in a pub today AND I bought The Beautiful Shoes (TM) I was after.
So wins all round really. How was your weekend m'dear?
(, Sun 23 Jan 2011, 22:47, Reply)

Not really
I dragged poor Lampito in to the Topshop on Oxford St because it's massive and I thought they'd have those shoes there because they didn't have them in the one in Birmingham. But everything shut at 6pm so I only had time (and money - it took all but £2 of what was in my account!) to do that.

Exactly.

There are a nice variety of birds in the smoking bit of our library gardens*

I have the thick pigeon who assumes I have food and pecks at the fagash, the magpie couple and the crows that raid the rubbish bin. I had the amusing experience of one trying to get into a closed salad box with some meat in, it kept jumping back like it was electrified every time it pecked the plastic. I stayed for about 5 mins mentally cheering it on, and it eventually got in.
To be honest, that was better than actually going into the library.

*what am I saying, the whole library garden IS the smoking bit

How does that make you feel eh?

*Are you cycling home from work?*

No, I'm home now
If I have to go in late or at the weekend or whatever I drive, I'm not bloody cycling at silly o clock at night.
I am perfectly content in my role as a supplier of fake drugs Jeff.

What time are you back in tomorrow?

The usual
9-9:30 or thereabouts.

Hows the job search going, any news?

Lots of conversations, and a few things in the pipeline that might be interesting.
But the duration of the contracts are too short at the moment, I want something with at least 6 months on it.

Are you likely to find something
if there aren't any being offered? Perhaps businesses don't necessarily have six months worth of guaranteed money for an analyst?

I'll consider a perm role if I can't find what I want on a contract.
But the money isn't anywhere near as good.

There are a number of perm roles out there, but I quite like the 'living life on the edge' contracting thing.
