Today this could be
.....the most tedious day of my life.....

Today I have woken up with a knackered back at 5.45am, spilled my coffee and struggled into work to be greeted by a full day of interviewing Unix engineers for a new post here. Please regale me with tales of how much better your day is than mine

ALT Q:
Favourite bread type product

it's so people can see it rather than it getting lost at the bottom of the page.

Ah!
I see. I thought you were suggesting we save the planet together.

I'm free on Sunday afternoon,
we could probably get it sorted before last orders.

I'm away this Sunday.
Come into my pub next Sunday while there's a quiz interval.

I'm sure nobody will mind.

Is this in answer to bread product or why your day is better than mine?

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:01, Reply)
My day is not better than yours.
Alt: freshly baked, still warm onion granary bread.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 10:52, Reply)
Any freshly baked, still warm bread is amazing!
I made a honey and oat loaf a while ago and was nearly sick as I ate it all with loads of butter on
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 10:54, Reply)
I have a breadstick problem
but I can handle it. After that, those cheese-topped rolls.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 10:53, Reply)
Breadsticks FTW!
You need dips though
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 10:58, Reply)
Not need
While a selection of dips goes great with 'sticks, I'll happily munch on them without.

A good friend
is coming up from London to visit. This means lots of drinks and fun this afternoon/tonight/tomorrow night.

How likely is it the bank would give me an overdraft?
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 10:58, Reply)
You're a student.
EDIT - by which I mean, of course they'll give you an overdraft. And keep extending it on request until you are crushed under a mountain of debt, and you won't actually clear it until six years after you graduate.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 10:59, Reply)
Is this a yes or no?

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:01, Reply)
I have fixed it.

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:03, Reply)
I only want a small one
and I've managed to go my whole degree without one.

Sadly if I don't get one I won't have enough money for food by sixth week
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:12, Reply)
You can buy a bag of mixed veg from sainsburys for £1
That bag will make enough soup of five meals.

If I had pots and pans
Otherwise this is good advice

i'm naggingly hungover
the greek restaurant owner LURVED my new flatmate and so my friend, flatmate and i got leathered with him last night. one of the waiters there is literally the hottest man i have ever seen in the flesh (we have decided he is so hot that he must be gay) and when my flatmate saw him for the first time, her jaw clanged onto the table, and her new york accent rang out a bit too loudly:

"oh my gawd, i would fuck him five ways til friday."
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:07, Reply)
It's actually quite offensive that you would laugh that off as some sort of amusing incident
if I said that loudly about a waitress I would not be at all surprised to be asked to leave the restaurant.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:11, Reply)
rubbish
if you'd have been there, the table would have fallen over as you got a massive stiffy. he is THAT hot.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:13, Reply)
He is probably so hot that he is a big spoilt baby and doesn't know what foreplay is
*prejudiced*
Our waiters last night were old scouse italians, who may have been hot in their day, but are now charmingly past-it.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:18, Reply)
It's mine and Ms Foxtrot's anniversary today
Which is liable to make fuck all difference between work, Ballroom lessons and her teaching some soon-to-be-wed couples to dance, except that she's in a better mood than normal.

Alt Q - I'm going to have to side with the warm bread idea. Ideally with something that used to have a face in it.

My cap is suitably doffed.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:45, Reply)
I love bread in all shapes and forms.
Currently I am only eating Nimble because I have to cut the calories wherever I can.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:20, Reply)
I've mostly cut bread out of my diet
And have really reduced the amount of pasta I eat. Stir fries seem to be pretty healthy though.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:23, Reply)
Me too. But the Nimble is for when I get a bready urge.
I'm eating a lot of soup and trying very hard to have smaller portions.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:24, Reply)
I did cook rather too much stir fry last night
But I didn't eat all of it, just felt guilty at letting it go to waste.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:25, Reply)
Do you not have a fridge?

(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:31, Reply)
Yes, but there didn't seem enough to save
Like, a fifth of the original batch.

alt: sourdough loaf or (pushing into cake territory) barmbrack.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:32, Reply)
i like restaurants that have a bread menu
except that then you get totally torn between all the exciting breads, and just want to abandon the main course and eat the bread.

although the overall answer has to be hot french bread just out of the oven with real butter.
(, Thu 10 Feb 2011, 11:51, Reply)
I like it when it's cooled down a bit, so that not all of the butter melts.

I had some of that on Monday.
I do it in the house while I'm waiting for pasta to cook, but I end up filling up on it and wishing I had more room for pasta.

I have a work thing tonight
That means I have to squeeze myself back into my ten year old suit. I should probably look into buying a new one.

Anyway, in order to try to detract attention away from the massive rolls of fat squeezing their way through the desperately groaning seams of the suit, I have purchased a new shirt and tie. I have also buffed up my shoes to a near-military grade shine. The full military, weaponised shoe-shining will be done next week for the balck tie job. Mercifully, my DJ is newer and better tailored.

Oh yeah, bread's alright too.
