I didn't win
but I did finish, thanks to lots of excellent support from CHCB.

I'm quite dehydrated at teh moment, my urine has the colour and texture of motor oil (before it's been in the motor, it's not that bad)

Good work.
Push anyone over?
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:20, Reply)
Nah, I didn't need to, there were quite a few people lying on the ground not moving as we ran past
turns out someone died as well.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:22, Reply)
No doubt as a tribute to '9/11'

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:23, Reply)
They should rename "9/11" to "9/=" because the two towers fell down.

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:25, Reply)
They fucking should.

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:26, Reply)
911, 9//, 9=

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:27, Reply)
Haha

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:29, Reply)
I'm tempted to put this as my facebook status
but some people have NO sense of humour about the death of 3000 people. Tcha!
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:39, Reply)
The queers.

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:57, Reply)
Yes, I pushed al over the edge beyond his comfort zone.
I'm a terrible real life bully.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:24, Reply)
Good for you Al.
Acceptable time for finish?
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:23, Reply)
Yes very,
We did it in 2hour 26minutes and 1 second. I was initially hoping we would get a sub 2.5 hour time, but in the last three miles I threw all hope of that out the window.

CHCB kept telling me we were still on track for less than 2.5 hours, but I thought she was just lying to make me feel better.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:25, Reply)
I was a second faster than you then, according to the official time.
It wasn't intentional, I swear.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:27, Reply)
Hahah! like hell you weren't.

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:36, Reply)
Isn't 2 hr 26 min less than 2.5 h by 4 min?
also, well done.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:50, Reply)
That's exactly what I thought
But I thought it was perhaps some kind of early Monday morning trick to make me look foolish.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:05, Reply)
Yes it is
Which is why I was pleased. I wanted to get a time below two and a half hours, but near the end I thought I wouldn't as I was getting slower and slower, but it turns out we'd gone fast enough near the start to make up for it.

So I was pleased.

Christ, do people always have to explain everything to you in such a level of detail?
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:06, Reply)
it was the bit where you said (or at least implied) you hadn't done it in under 2.5hrs that caused confusion.
"I was initially hoping we would get a sub 2.5 hour time, but in the last three miles I threw all hope of that out the window"
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:10, Reply)
That's exactly what I thought

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:12, Reply)
Well I can't be held responsible for the fact that you bunch of witless spastics can't follow a conversation.
BGB: Acceptable time?
Me: Yes [it was an acceptable time], 2hr26min [the acceptable time] I didn't think I would do it that fast [explanation of why I was pleased with my acceptable time] I had thrown out all hope of getting that time [further information that although I had wanted a sub 2.5hour time during the last three miles I thought I couldn't possibly make it]

I thought CHCB was lying to me [yet more information as to why I thought I couldn't possibly achieve sub 2.5hours which is why achieving it was so pleasing to me]
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:19, Reply)
Or rather, we can't be held responsible for the fact that you inexplicably failed to include all the text in brackets above.
thus rendering your statement contradictory at best.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:22, Reply)
I'm sorry Badger, do you normally require crib notes for life?
It's just that, as a high flying academic, one would expect you to be able to understand the obvious implications which I highlighted above.

The fact that I started off with my actual finishing time, the "key point" if you will, is what clearly indicates that the remaining information was designed to inform why I didn't think I was going to achieve this.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:32, Reply)
then the remaining information you provided spectularly failed to inform.
As a "high flying academic" (whatever one of those is) part of my job is to teach people to express information clearly and without ambiguity. I'm sure I could recommend someone more geographically convenient who could provide this service to you?
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:37, Reply)
Just becuase you're too busy having your clothes adjusted to read it properly and understand it
doesn't mean it fails to inform.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:39, Reply)
textbook fallback there, sir.
textbook.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:43, Reply)
No, I think it's "becuase" of your poor education.

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:52, Reply)
As my learned colleague above pointed out
"I was initially hoping we would get a sub 2.5 hour time, but in the last three miles I threw all hope of that out the window."

Are you foreign, or just a mong?
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:30, Reply)
See above.
Since I stated what I did actually achieve, the following comment was a reason why I was surprised and pleased with the result.

Which is why you are the mong.

And probably a forrin to boot.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:33, Reply)
The description of your achievements read like it had been written by a 8 year old Somalian
with learning difficulties.

It is therefore not the fault of the reader when they cannot make head nor tail of it.

You flid.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:39, Reply)
I think the confusion was caused by your misplaced "but"
Would have made more sense as:
We did it in 2hour 26minutes and 1 second. I was initially hoping we would get a sub 2.5 hour time.

In the last three miles I threw all hope of that out the window, but CHCB kept telling me we were still on track for less than 2.5 hours. I thought she was just lying to make me feel better.

I'm sure an edit and a personal apology gazzed to Mighto and Fisty would clear this whole sorry mess up.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:43, Reply)
* awaits gaz *

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 10:44, Reply)
What will you talk about on here now?
Seriously though well, done I am suitably impressed*

*pending time confirmation of under 6 hours
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:24, Reply)
I will talk about the next one I'm going to do in Brighton next February.

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:25, Reply)
Totally signing up for that.

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:27, Reply)
How are your toenails?

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:30, Reply)
One of them has gone purple.

(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:30, Reply)
Ewwww
As predicted, when I got up this morning to go to the lav I nearly pitched headlong into the door as my legs decided they didn't like the idea of using stairs.
(, Mon 12 Sep 2011, 9:33, Reply)
Yeah, I've had the stairs problem too.
I'm going to go for a run to loosen up a bit.
