hah, well yeh i guess, eggs is the basics,
you know, like, the pleats around a tall chefs hat used to indicate the number of different ways a chef could cook an egg, eggs really are important, respect eggs man, respect eggs.

I just like poached, boiled or guggy

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:01, Reply)
what's guggy?
There are very few forms of egg I don't like
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:03, Reply)
Butter some bread, chop it up
put it in a white mug with a boiled egg and some salt.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:05, Reply)
that's like boiled egg and soldiers but in a different order
and with salt
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:06, Reply)
My soldiers are toasted
So guggy egg's not similar in that way, but I see your point. You eat it with a teaspoon too.

There's a curry recipe for every one of god's tasty little creatures.
Made a fish curry t'other week for the first time. The idea had never appealed before, y'know the smell and all? It was a tamarind salmon feast! Nomtastic.
The goat tonight was actual goat, not mutton as is generally the case. There must be a direct correlation between how cantankerous a creature is and how damned tasty it is ;)

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 20:58, Reply)
about as well as anywhere else

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:00, Reply)
I want to go raving with the assistance of MDs.
But the question is- jungle or house?

In my younger days it would have been jungle. Now that I am ancient, I prefer house.

What's it to be?
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 20:58, Reply)
dubstep, obvs

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 20:59, Reply)
Oh actually, this.
Get off your face, find some proper beat-driven dubstep and dance your face off. Fuck, my town is shit.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:00, Reply)
I've heard dubstep through a system plenty of times, and it's too slow for raving purposes.
Plus, honkies skanking is fucking wack.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:01, Reply)
JUNGLE totally, don't fuck with that 4/4 vibe, get your amen on and where's your head at?

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 20:59, Reply)
i believe jungle is mostly in 4/4, too
isn't it?
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:00, Reply)
Not 4/4 as in four to the floor, which is what house is.
A straight four beats in the bar, with four kicks. Take out the third kick and you have nu skool breaks.

Jungle may be 4/4 time but it's not four to the floor.

I can illustrate with links if need be.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:03, Reply)
Amen.

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:04, Reply)
go on then

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:08, Reply)
i see
so basically it's like the stuff that annoys me in the gym vs the stuff I quite like but know nothing about
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:10, Reply)
What's the stuff that you quite like?

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:12, Reply)
hard to say,
in my head it's kinda dance-y (although I know that will rile you), but with a less annoying incessant beat (which I now know to refer to as 'four to the floor' when talking to 'the kids')
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:14, Reply)
Dancey is perfectly acceptable.
So you quite like decent house? The thing with house is that there is so much drivel that gets pushed out by Ministry of Sound and Pacha and that, when there is so much quality underground shit that is so much better.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:18, Reply)
i'll be honest
I don't care enough to actuallylook for/buy/listen to it on purpose
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:21, Reply)
Fair enough.
What do you think of this one?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zW9R9sj894&ob=av2n

When it 'came out' I fucking loved it. I was obsessed. Muscular, yet screamingly camp. The polar opposite of me.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:23, Reply)
sort of thing I'd ignore on the radio

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:26, Reply)
Fcuking hell.
Never thought Anthony and the Johnsons would be made into a dance track.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:27, Reply)
They haven't.
Hercules & Love Affair asked Antony to sing on some tracks. It worked so fucking well though, amirite?

And the Frankie Knuckles remix is even more quendacious than the original.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:28, Reply)
Love Antony but I don't like this track.

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:31, Reply)
Madness.
His work with Hercules & Love Affair was superb.

You clearly know your shit.
Rispek and ting?
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:13, Reply)
You what?
That Onionz & Joeski tune is the one that made me change my mind about house.

The Roni Size one is nearly 15 years old now. Live drumming and double bass on that one too.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:14, Reply)
yeah?
well my band has about 3 live double bass and sometimes a drummer
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:16, Reply)
Yeah but your band doesn't play drum n' bass.
And could your drummer play at 180 bpm?
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:19, Reply)
I don't think that would work on kettle drums

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:22, Reply)
Probably not.
The drummer in Reprazent also played drums for Portishead at the time, and these days he plays for Robert Plant in Strange Sensation.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:36, Reply)
You summed it up so succinctly, clearly and to the point.
The timescale of the references is of no importance.
It made sense to me and I commented thusly.
You what?
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:21, Reply)
Indeed.
DnB/Jungle and to a lesser extent, breaks (but not tech funk) are all about the basslines and the snaredrums.

House, techno and the housier end of breakbeat (tech funk especially) is all about the kickdrums.
(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:25, Reply)
I'm all about pianos and strong vocals.

Italy seem to have a completely properly unelected government and no one seems to concerned about this. Isn't this just like a military take over only with bankers instead of generals?

Sorry if I'm late with this, I've not been watching telly

i've not been keeping track but isn't it now run by civil servants?

(, Wed 16 Nov 2011, 21:36, Reply)
That's how Italy has always worked.
The politicians fight a lot, steal money and are general cunts while the civil servants keep the place going.
