I got Japanese for dinner, it was a mistake, I wish I had the common spence to get Chinese instead.

(, Wed 30 May 2012, 20:28, Reply)
You
Said "eight", I said "nine". I realised, too late, that it was probably dyslexia-based. Soz, is the term, I believe.

I'm fine, my good fella, how's you?

Well
It's Davvers, and no mistake.

How goes it, fella, ma lad?

Yes, more quiet than silence wrapped up in a very thick duvet.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 20:44, Reply)
I've been slaving over a hot stove since I got in.
Still, it'll be worth it. Rigatoni Diavola always is.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 20:46, Reply)
I say "since I got in".
That's not strictly true as I had half an hour to chill and stuff. Lies on QOTW. Who knew?
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 20:48, Reply)
It
sounds , eh, lovely. I prefer stovies. Nom and more nom.

What is this alien dish of which you speak?
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 20:50, Reply)
I happen to love stovies as well.
Rigatoni Diavola is basically bolognese sauce, with a hint of chilli, layered onto rigatoni pasta and mozzarella cheese, then baked in the oven. I've added peppers, mushrooms and fried courgettes for the five a day lols.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 20:52, Reply)
That
does sound good.

Even to this heathen porridge-wog.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 20:54, Reply)
You've got me thinking about stovies now.
My nan used to be excellent at making them.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 20:57, Reply)

You must know of stovies, surely?

Sorry,it's B3th, not Shirley. My mistake. I'm new here.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:03, Reply)
Yeah, I know stovies.
They're bogging.

I tell you what I do miss, though. Bridies. Can't get them down here.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:07, Reply)
"Bogging?"

(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:10, Reply)
It's Scots for minging.

(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:11, Reply)
Lies. Stovies are ace.

(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:12, Reply)
No
It's the other way round.

Mingin' is Scots for boggin'. Neither word has a "g" at the end. That's called English.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:17, Reply)
Nae
boggin' at a'.

Bridie's come fae Forfar, which is where God wid pit the tube if he winted tip' gie the world an enema. Or maybe that's Peterheid. I get confused.

Bradies, however are quite pleasant and are widely available.

I'll send you some, if you want.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:11, Reply)
I've never heard of bradies
and I'm also nearly a porridge wog. Had I been born 500 years or so earlier, I would have been.

Yeah
only they're not actually 'bradies'. They're 'bridies'.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:18, Reply)
No
They're not.

They are only bridies in Forfar. Everywhere else they're called bradies. Apart from Dundee, where they all live in caravans and sell pegs for a living. Or tar your drive.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:22, Reply)
I've always known them as bridies.

(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:28, Reply)
I
Norite?

People north of Forfar don't call them that, though. Even Glaswegians call them East Coast Shite Sandwiches.

It's like folk from Fife call tatties, "totties." Nobody else does.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 21:35, Reply)
Yeah, but they're funny in Fife.
Look at my brother, for starters.

A
xylophone in your house? Have you got a horse outside? Or worse, inside?. Where do you put the coal when you've got a horse in your bath? Do you have a supermodel in your carport?

Or that chap from The Sky At Night in your basement?

Patrick somethingorother. He plays one of them. Not the horse, the other thing.

That seems very expensive
Considering you can buy more powerful laptops for less (unless I'm missing something).
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 22:15, Reply)
It is expensive
but it's pretty, it's very fast, it's very light and the same size as a macbook so I can cart it to/from lectures on the bus/bike etc easily, and I've had Sony laptops for years and they're incredibly reliable.

But mostly I like the colour.
(, Wed 30 May 2012, 22:17, Reply)
would a macbook not be a similar price?

(, Wed 30 May 2012, 22:20, Reply)
Christ no, they're probably half that again for a similar spec
I also can't abide using them. Ipods are fine but all macs induce in me is rage and hatred.

essentially making them a netbook.
I love my laptop, and I wouldn't want to do away with it at all, but the ipad is nicely portable. Well, considering I go everywhere with a huge handbag, it is.
