So I'm staying up to finish a practical report for organic chemistry.
And I keep popping in to make sure you're all still alive and snippy.

Why should I not worry if you're not posting?
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 11:58, 99 replies, latest was 13 years ago)
Because I'm working or doing something more interesting.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 11:58, Reply)
I wouldn't call work interesting.
Paperclips can only be used in so many ways.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 11:59, Reply)
I used the word "or" which presents an alternative idea or item.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:01, Reply)
because I'm decoupaging
a bedside cabinet.

This is not an innuendo
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:00, Reply)
I want to see photos of a decoupaged cabinet.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:01, Reply)
once it's finished
currently I'm still sewing the bits of material together and coughing up the dust
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:03, Reply)
It is the way I do it.

How did you know I was in the market?

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:04, Reply)
it was the 20% rise
in spangled fabulousness
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:09, Reply)
OK, this is getting spooky
How did you know that I call my penis "spangled fabulousness"?
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:11, Reply)
YOu were singing to it
once when I was stalking you
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:14, Reply)
I don't sing
I'm banned from doing so by various powerful bodies including the Wizengamot and the UN. Along with breeding and tanning.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:16, Reply)
Because I'm going to KFC

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:01, Reply)
I'm going to make some homemade KFC this weekend, 'cept spicier

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:02, Reply)
I did this ages ago
I was advised to boil the chicken in milk first as this makes it really tender.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:04, Reply)
Really? Nice tip man, thanks.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:04, Reply)
Then dip in into seasoned flour
(loads of paprika and chilli in it)
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:05, Reply)
This is true
also, means you can fry it hotter for a shorter time (tastier and less greasy) without risking the chicken being raw.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:06, Reply)
Do you have to deep fry it?

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:07, Reply)
probably not
but I think frying will give you the best result.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:07, Reply)
I shallow fry, to get the breadcrumbs nicely stuck on and to get some oil onto the chicken
then shove in the oven to cook through
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:09, Reply)
might work.
If you poached the chicken first you might not need the oven bit, even.

I'm never convinced shallow frying is any better for you than deep frying. Well, it probably isn't. Just less hassle I supposed.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:11, Reply)
That was what I was hoping to avoid really, the hassle of having a big pan full of oil
if you boiled it in milk for 10-20 minutes I would have thought that shallow frying would be enough to crisp the skin?
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:13, Reply)
I reckon so, yep.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:14, Reply)
deffo

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:14, Reply)
Good, then it's your fault if I get food poisoning.
And fat.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:19, Reply)
I have only bad experiences of things cooked in milk...

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:19, Reply)
Did Noel cook his penis in milk?

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:21, Reply)
It's a common nonce trick to entice babies onto it.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:25, Reply)
Nah. Dad used to cook cod in milk.
it was horrendous.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:28, Reply)

+ man
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:30, Reply)
I'm trying to work out where this fits in.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:30, Reply)

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:31, Reply)
Oh.
Ew. Urgh, I don't want to think about that.

I need to make some bone jewellery. This isn't a euphemism either.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:04, Reply)
What the fuck are you preparing for at your next larping event?
A voodoo ceremony?
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:05, Reply)
kinda...ish
new character is a crow/human who does voodoo-ish things (telling the future from entrails, that kind of shit). Probably playing the first time this weekend and I really don't have the kit ready

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:11, Reply)
Don't use chicken bones, really.
they splinter.

Just rob graves like everyone else.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:08, Reply)
lot of effort if you would just be after finger bones

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:09, Reply)
Because it's sometimes the case that I'm too busy to come on
However, it's more likely that it's simply due to the site being blocked.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:05, Reply)
I was blocked from Monty's documentary thread
so couldn't celebrate Quintins windfall, i hope it makes him really happy

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:11, Reply)
Lots of TV's going for like £10-£40

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:17, Reply)
There's some pretty cool stuff being sold there.
Needs more details though, like: This was used by Delia Derbyshire to make the Dr Who theme, or whatever. They'd make a killing then.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:17, Reply)
Fuck that I'm bidding £15 on a 19 inch sony TV

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:19, Reply)
I'm bidding £15.01 on it then.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:21, Reply)
There's about 40 of them.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:23, Reply)
i'm gonna buy them all, build a room covered entirely with tv screens and then smash them with dildos and hammers

Were you worried that I hadn't posted yet?

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:18, Reply)

I don't even eat KFC :(

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:24, Reply)
Chicken Cottage more your sort of level eh?

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:30, Reply)
I haven't eaten chicken since about 1990
Fast food wasn't as common before then as it is now and was always dismissed as "shit" by my family.
Hope this helps.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:38, Reply)
You do know that chicken can be cooked in ways other than those found in "fast food" restaurants?

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:40, Reply)
I do.
I have eaten chicken cooked in several of these "other ways". I have never eaten "fast food".
Hope this clarifies my post.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:45, Reply)
It doesn't just clarify it, it completely changes the meaning of it.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:48, Reply)
Forgive me if I am not making myself clear
My original point was that not only do I not eat KFC, I don't eat at Chicken Cottage either.
I had to google Chicken Cottage to see what it was.
The world of deep-fried chicken is completely alien to me.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:52, Reply)
You should try making some yourself
use the recipe above, or in the other thread, I can't remember where it is now.

Fried chicken is nice, but KFC is not.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:55, Reply)
I feel that this would compromise my vegetarianism somewhat.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 13:02, Reply)
I was just curious.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:33, Reply)
It's taken me ten minutes to get this.
I'm clearly off my game tonight.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:39, Reply)
Has the thought of Noels penis distracted you?

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:41, Reply)
No actually,
thinking about the electron distribution in N-N Acetyl-1,4-Diphenyleneamide and the ability of a nitronium ion to generate a di-nitro derivative in comparison to 1,4-dichlorobenzene has distracted me.

Sorry for thinking about something a little bit more intellectually stimulating than my ex boyfriend's penis.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:43, Reply)
Oh man, I totally miss studying chemistry.
Are you doing a chemistry degree?
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:44, Reply)
Biomedical science.
I fucking love it. I originally started out doing a double Chemistry and Biology major, but for me to go into molecular genetics, I need to spend next year focusing on Molecular techniques and bio. However this year, I'm doing organic chemistry and biochemistry.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:48, Reply)
Hmmm, that sounds very impressive. Work hard and I'm sure you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
You're a lot more fun now than you used to be. Though a part of me misses being able to wind you up.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:50, Reply)
Yeah I'm not surprised you miss winding me up, you awful bully.
I work my arse off though. Studying as much as I would if it were a full time job, and I'm working on the weekend full time too. BUSY AS FUCK.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 13:01, Reply)
I am a dreadful human being.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 13:06, Reply)
Yes you are.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 13:09, Reply)
It's ok Poppet, you don't need to worry.
I'm fine.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:38, Reply)
I'm glad to hear it.

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:43, Reply)
Could you not hear my obvious cry for help there?
I'm going to kill myself Poppet.
I thought you might have helped me.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:54, Reply)
Nah, fuck it, I've already talked two people off the ledge,
I've done my bit, you can help yourself.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 13:01, Reply)
Can i face going for a run without any music...

(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:32, Reply)
Of course, all runs should be done without music
it's much better that way.
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:33, Reply)
I get bored, but I'll give it a go
back later losers
(, Tue 17 Jul 2012, 12:34, Reply)
