Lets talk about houses and mortgages.
Why don't we just let the whole housing system colapse?

There is no reason not to I'm sure you'll agree so we'll have to talk about Easter 4 day weekend plans instead.

Because then everyone would know that the country is bankrupt?
as you wouldn't be able to paper over the cracks with an asset bubble and multiple derivatives.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:43, Reply)
Nothing wrong with going bankrupt

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:45, Reply)
Really?

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:46, Reply)
No, fuck it, you try something and it fails, draw a line under it and pick yourself up and try something else.
Much worse to constantly try to fix the thing which is failing for decades.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:47, Reply)
Bit shit for your creditors though.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:49, Reply)
Fuck them, loaning money carries a risk, that's why you get interest.

Except if you're a bank, then the taxpayer pays the bill.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:53, Reply)
Yes, that should have never happened.

I just got my mortgage renewed,
It's come down from 3.5 to to 2.29%
Thats a big drop, saving me 100quid a month or so. Very happy, thank you Mr Woolwich.

I'm actually taking easter off work. Might go visit twohats and spend the weekend by the coast.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:43, Reply)
The only definite plans I have so far for that weekend are seeing B*ldm*nkey
Imagine that!
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:14, Reply)
I think the correct answer is to build more social housing.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:43, Reply)
Can we get that many yaks, though?

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:45, Reply)
that will only slow the increase of house prices.
It won't cut them by the 40ish percent they need to go down by.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:46, Reply)
I suspect that you have more selfish reasons for wanting the housing market to collapse.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:48, Reply)
I want everythign that's broken to collapse.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:53, Reply)
what is?

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:55, Reply)
I think I've fucked up by telling my ex that as I gave her four chances to inspect my flat
and she has since the last offer assaulted me, that I no longer feel comfortable about having her in my home but that she can send someone else on her behalf instead.

Have I fucked up? I really don't want that fucking cunt under my roof.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:56, Reply)
Can she come over and lusty or someone stay in to let her deal with it?

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:57, Reply)
Or Stunned, let stunned show her around, after he's had one of his lunches.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:57, Reply)
Bigger picture time
Just think of your daughter being able to stay there
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:57, Reply)
The last time she was in my flat she went through my shredder to piece together my phone bill.
The time before that she went for me with a kitchen knife and the one before that she locked me out and I had to boot my door in to gain access. I really, really don't want her there.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 15:59, Reply)
Was this when you were together though?
Just be civil and show her around then bolt the fucking doors
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:00, Reply)
Would you be giving the same advice is the genders were reversed?
Two months ago she strangled me and punched me - grounds enough for not wanting someone in your home wouldn't you say?
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:05, Reply)
You don't want her to come to your home, fair enough
You want your daughter to come to your home and this will help it happen. Make sure Lusty is also there (as a witness), be civil and show her round. Don't let her look in your shredder and hide the pointy things.

Profit
Drink celebratory beer
Win
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:07, Reply)
She will fabricate objections to her staying and use them as an excuse to deny my having her over.
If someone else comes round on her behalf they might well not do that.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:08, Reply)
Then could she also bring someone?

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:09, Reply)
That won't help.
She will make objections based on spurious things: someone else won't. The only way to prevent that is for her not to be there.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:18, Reply)
Have a mate there - in a suit - and introduce him as your solicitor

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:10, Reply)
bet she'd get defensive and kick off

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:11, Reply)
In front of his solicitor?
She might be mental, but she's not daft.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:13, Reply)
i think she might be both
she did date Monty after all
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:13, Reply)
maybe he meant hotdog suit

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:13, Reply)
I assumed he meant hotdog suit.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:15, Reply)
I reckon let the bitch in, just you and her, keep microphones and cameras dotted around the house that are hidden.
Keep completely civil, ovbously phsyicly defend yourself within reason if anything happens, but keep in mind the cameras'n'shit.... you can then use this in court to fuck her big time.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 17:11, Reply)
More than enough reasons I would think.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:01, Reply)

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:06, Reply)
Jeez you are WTN
Reasonable to prevent her coming to the flat, you spaz.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:16, Reply)
The sad reality is that if you are ever going to make this work you need to resolve some of your differences.
You can't keep resolving things with the threat of legal action. For several reasons.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:01, Reply)
Hippy bollocks.
Invite her round and kick her in the cunt.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:02, Reply)
Hippy bollocks or not, it is true.
It would be better for all concerned.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:05, Reply)
I think you're mistakenly assuming that Monty's ex can be reasoned with.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:06, Reply)
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:02, Reply)
Because it's political suicide.
All those middle-England, home-owning voters? Those voters that all the major parties are trying to attract?

They're the ones who'll risk losing their houses. Many, many people were mortgaged up to the hilt before 2008, either with their own homes or their buy-to-lets, banking on the bubble continuing in order to make profit. The inevitable happened and they're casting around for somebody to blame that isn't yourself because this is the age of zero accountability.

The party that makes the decision to allow the housing market to collapse loses power. People have long memories, the Tories have never shaken the image Thatcher got them. Nobody wants to be at the centre of that shitstorm.
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:07, Reply)
swipe might

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:08, Reply)
I could sell it to the electorate.

(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 16:15, Reply)
No you couldn't
And anyway, the problem won't be rectified by a collapse in the housing market, becuase London and the South East will remain utterly unaffected, and it's London and the South East that are the problem.

When people say "house prices are overinflated" they mean "house prices in the South East of England are overinflated"
(, Thu 21 Mar 2013, 17:12, Reply)
They might not have shaken the image
they're still back in power.
