Good question
Demolition Man and Running Man are among my favourites. Bit of sci-fi in there too, but good movies.
(, Thu 11 Apr 2013, 10:34, Reply)
I'm thinking Predator maybe
It's got to be 80's or early ninties

Ah, of course
Aliens too. Shit, now I come to think of it...there are 100's.

Con Air is one of the campest films I have ever seen, and I watch A LOT of gay porn.

Ronin, Leon or Die Hard.
I can't choose between them :(

I am excellent at DIY. Naturally good with my hands, you see. Not only are they registered as deadly weapons in thirteen countries, but they're also the hands of a master artisan.

I don't really like Predator.
I mean, it's ok, but I just really get it.

That guy, right? The guy. That one. He cuts down half the rainforest with that minigun. You know, the General Electric M134 minigun that fires 50 7.62 rounds a second?

Nicks the Predator. Little scratch. I don't get that. You know?
(, Thu 11 Apr 2013, 10:53, Reply)
Right the Predator yeah? He's like, well good
So he gets out the way
Cos he's well good
At being a predator
And an alien

so unrealistic

(, Thu 11 Apr 2013, 10:55, Reply)
I wouldn't tell that guy though.
He can run around a rainforest with a gun that normally requires mounting to a helicopter.

Plus he wears a bad ass hat. Never argue with a man that wears a bad ass hat.

"asshat"
pffft.
(, Thu 11 Apr 2013, 10:58, Reply)
yeah, a film about a murderous shape-shifting camoflagued alien
really falls down on the realism of the level of damage created by a specific projectile weapon, I find.

Phew, I thought I'd overstepped the mark.

DIY? yeah, pretty good. built three kitchens now, laid floors, re-done gardens. In the current place I've made some built-in furniture from scratch as nothing you can buy fits and custom stuff is stupidly expensive.

long story short, I ended up having the bathroom completely remodelled and had to have central heating installed. So a quick fix job that should've cost very little, ended up costing me more than 5k. Prick, right here.

(, Thu 11 Apr 2013, 10:54, Reply)
It just snowballed.
To be fair, I didn't need to do all that work...it just seemed like the right time to do it. Replacing a toilet....might as well replace the lot....need better water pressure...might as well get a boiler in the loft...and so on.
(, Thu 11 Apr 2013, 10:56, Reply)

Nah, like many have mentioned before on this thread I have to pick my traditional Christmas Eve staple..Home Alone Die Hard. Hard Boiled is another good choice someone else mentioned. Speed is a very effective action film, great pacing. The definition of an action film can get a bit fuzzy so whereas some might include Raiders of The Lost Ark, The Matrix or Enter The Dragon, others mightn't. Fuck it, I vote for Leonard Part 6.

I like apple pie.

I installed my own kitchen which stood the test of time for a good 10 years. Functional but not too pretty.
