All looking forward to a week of work?
Would you work longer days to do your weekly hours in 4 days instead of 5? My old boss did to spend time with his kid in the pre-school years, seemed to work for him. Also his commute was hassle-free.

No, but I think we should have a 4 day working week.
I'd happily work 28 hours a week for the same money. I'll bring it up at my next meeting.

Loads of people I work with do a compressed working week.
Although somehow, the seem to do fewer hours still than everyone else.

Christmas is always either a nightmare of no work and then playing catch-up to make up for 2 weeks of no work or a living nightmare because some fool many years ago made Christmas Day a rent quarter day. The year a massive chain of pubs went bust at Christmas was a fucking doozy. I took so many calls from fucked off people who'd booked for New Year's Eve but the pub had been shut down...

sucks eh
We close down over Christmas and don't go back until Jan 5th. That's pretty much a week's paid leave in addition to annual entitlement.

I don't have any issue with doing an extra couple of hours in the evening, if there's shit to do.

It's not so ludicrous a suggestion, given that the main reason the US had treatments ready to go is that they were concerned about 'weaponised' versions up to ten years ago.

Although it's not all bad, I'm only working three days this week.
Alt: We should all be working shorter hours over fewer days. This 5/2 split is ridiculous.
There are more than enough people and more than enough money to make it work better.

You always bring up an isolated example, usually from your pikey family, as to why increased funding in education might be a waste of time.
It might work that way in law, where one example of precedent is sufficient, but it's not very scientific.

Also, for what it's worth, research shows that the most beneficial way to spend on education is to pour it into early years.

I've got a fairly quiet week this week. Mrs Cow is off to Alton Towers on Tuesday/Wednesday with the school so I'm taking the kids for an Italian cheapo tomorrow
I can sort of work different hours each day round how I'd like to do it. I got in at 9:30 today and will leave at 5. Tomorrow will be early start, earlier finish

Morning all
I'm supposed to work 35 hours per week but I've been working 40-45 for a couple of months now. But I'd happily work my 35 in 4 or 4.5 days and take a Friday (or even just the afternoon) off.
This week could turn into a complete shitfest. I'm looking to have Thursday and Friday off with the kids but I need to get my current project signed off by close of play on Wednesday. I foresee some blind panic before then as the users change their minds a few times between now and then - they've already had an about turn this morning. Cunts.
