ANother quiet morning
I expect my day will be fully of microsleeps at my desk and sneaking off to the bogs for minisleeps there.

I'm so tired ='[
(, Wed 5 Nov 2008, 8:25, Reply)
Morning Captain V
And happy b3taday to you.

I missed mine on Monday as I was away at the time.

I can't do minisleeps. I wake up feeling like hell.

Megasleeps, on the other hand...
(, Wed 5 Nov 2008, 8:27, Reply)
Megasleeps
I think my record for sleeping was sleeping for 36 hours in 48 starting in Austria with a coach trip home from a ski trip (slept the whole way other than the ferry) and then a good 12 hours of sleep the night I got home.

I hope I don't fall asleep on the bus tonight and miss my stop -_-

:edit: Woo for b3taday!
(, Wed 5 Nov 2008, 8:31, Reply)
Yes we can!
Wohooo! The republicans are out at last! Let's hope today, we can use the hope to inspire us to combat our personal demons, and not to mention those pesky ghost bees and mind weasels.

Oh, and happy b3taday Captain V, and happy belated b3taday k2k6 (there seems to be a lot of them about this time of year).
(, Wed 5 Nov 2008, 8:32, Reply)
I also see
that the popular vote was in favour of Obama, unlike in the case of Dubya last time.

It's a daft voting system. I can understand that it makes sense to do it that way when electing representatives for a given area, but when it's a straight choice between two people for president, why not just count the votes and see who gets more?
(, Wed 5 Nov 2008, 8:38, Reply)
@K2k6
IIRC, I think it may have been done that way to give the smaller states more of a say. Otherwise, most of the campaigning would only go on in the big cities. But even that does not make that much sense.
(, Wed 5 Nov 2008, 8:52, Reply)
Morning all
Happy B3taday Captain!

I had a fine sleep last night, but I woke up with a numb arm. I think that someone was sleeping on it!
(, Wed 5 Nov 2008, 8:53, Reply)
@spakka
Yes, I realise there are reasons for it, but it's actually introducing a huge quantisation error. When you have 130 million people voting and reduce that to a few hundred electoral college votes it can make a big difference to the outcome.

@Dr Minge - so long as it was a lovely lady sleeping on it, you have no reason to complain!
(, Wed 5 Nov 2008, 8:57, Reply)
K2k6
Well there was nobody there!

Spakka, nice pictures matey. I wish I'd been there!

Mr Nong all!
Well, who'd have thunk it, there's a new president elect this morning. I was expecting them to mess up something majorly and it not to be decided for days. Well they proved me wrong.

All well today? I got a long lie (8:30) today, which made me slightly happy.
(, Wed 5 Nov 2008, 9:04, Reply)
Good morning everybody!
I'm running late for work having stayed up till 4 waiting for the president-elect to hit that magic 270!

Still, I'm going to be near enough that I can blame the tube.

You can run your desktop like 3.1 with windows blinds
I used to love 3.1

Agent Quang's personal favourite operating system was Windows 98 because, by the end of its life, the software was so solid.

He's wrong here, surely. I mean, it fell over all the time. By the end of 98's life, I'd have said win2k was much better.

Cystitis
Apparently if women go for a pee after sex it helps prevent them from getting cystitis.

Or so I'm led to believe. Don't know if I do though. Seems a bit old wives tale-like for me.

You will be in love with 52.3% of Americans then? That's the proportion who voted for the good guy.

It actually worries me that it was so close, in terms of the popular vote. Mind you, the religious right would vote for any Republican, and you won't change their minds.

Regarding my special friend, it's getting quite bad. I'm finding myself becoming a bit addicted to spending time with her. I went to see Quantum of Solace with her last night. The film was good, but I found myself wishing that we weren't watching it and could just chat instead. How bad is that?

I'd love to pull her along tonight, but she's out doing forensicy things. She's definitely got the b3ta mindset though, so I ought to introduce her to our website of unearthly delights.
