With my usual tipples of cider or gin and tonic.
I want to start enjoying a new 'usual' but I'm at a loss as to what drink to throw myself into.
Suggestions? Price/taste/alcohol content are all factors, as is availability.
Alternatively, what's the best ever slang word for breasts?

as for the bevvy, get into some fine belgian beers...hoegaarden and aventinus are good places to start
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 17:20, Reply)
aventinus is german. not that there's anything wrong with that...
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 17:39, Reply)
it is indeed german, and one of my favourite beers of all time
i should have known better
*weeps*

Have you tried the aventinus eisbock? same thing, only more intense
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 20:28, Reply)
but i am fairly desperate to do so. the only place i have seen it is the Aventinus website itself. When i get some fast and loose cash, THEN.
How about Trappist Rocheforte 10, now there's a beer as well, like a meal in a glass.
Or a few of the Heather Ale beers..Froach, the heather one and the magnificent pine needle infused Alba.

rochefort 10 in my cellar at the moment. not exactly a summer beer, but a damned nice way to end an evening. the fraoch's pretty tasty. i'm curious to try their seaweed ale and their gooseberry ale looks interesting.

I'm an XO cognac man myself, when possible - but if price is an issue move along, nothing to see here....
EDIT
Depends on the orbs in question, but sometimes they're most definitely good old KNOCKERS

A good Belgian beer I discovered recently is Chimay Bleue. A bit on the expensive side but tasty and gets you drunk pretty quick.
My vote is for chesticles.

And I also love a good J.D. and Coke.
Or if I'm feeling classy and pretentious I'll go for a good whisky like Old Pulteney with a fancy bottled beer to wash it down...

I'm a real ale or wine person I suppose.
Oh, and chebs. Definitely chebs.

If you're a "serious" cider man (i.e., something like Weston's as a minimum, rather than this Magners/Bulmers silliness) then you might want to dip into ale - if price is an issue, they're almost always one of the cheapest options in the pub. And you get a huge range of flavours. The only foreseeable catch might be the alcoholic content as...well, they're beer-strength.
Though if that is the case, cancer joy is right - the Belgian stuff is usually stronger (though, conversely, it costs more in this country)

a serious cider drinker. The cloudier the better!
Ale could be a shout, although I've had so many 'bad' pints over the years, the thought of getting bladdered on ale doesn't sit comfortable.
Mullered.

white rum, some mint, some lime juice, topped off with soda and if you're feeling posh, a drop or two of angostura bitters. very refreshing and alarmingly easy to drink, even if you make it half rum.
edit: rack

I enjoy a mojito as much as the next man, but I'm not going to go to either my local, or any other tradional boozer and order one. I'll be battered by the suspecious punters in the pub.
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 18:17, Reply)
Shockingly easy to drink at any time of the day, even before 7am.
Oh, and RACK.

And I'll "plump" for chesticles.

sparkling red Shiraz wine. It's like cherry cream soda, only much much nicer, and it makes you fall over. I get it by the case.
Oh, and Norks is the bestest ever word for breasts.

I've recently favoured vodka, lime and tonic ............. Bitter is also tidy.
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 19:04, Reply)
Red wine is best of all the alcohols.
And jubblies is also a fave of mine.
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 19:32, Reply)
And my vote goes to real ale - Bombardier, Lancashire Bomber, Ruddles, Courage, Hobgoblin, etc.
Can't lose!
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 19:43, Reply)
the Ruddles Rhubarb? A possibly alarming combination but in reality it's so good I became a bit addicted to it when the weather was hot.
Badger Brewery's Golden Glory and Golden Champion are also top faves.
And I think I still favour good old boobies. Although chesticles is growing on me...

Or, failing that, why not try Guinness.
Both have caused me headaches.

Because you need something to cut the taste of the Lambrini.

Mount Gay rum and coke (not pepsi, I'm a fussy bast) does it for me. It is, IMHO, the best rum I've ever tried, and I've tried a few.
Also, "front bottom".
