On a lighter, less Stalinist note
I've just had a bowl of those mini Weetabix. Not just the plain ones, the ones with chocolate chips*.

So, how fantastic as your morning been so far?

*They were on offer, £1 a box in Asda, so I bought 6 boxes. Go while the offer's still on. Go now, Go on. Now, before they sell out. Are you still here?

need to get to asda
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 9:38, Reply)
How big were the boxes?
I'll have to know that before I can rate your purchase.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 9:38, Reply)
450g
of pure crunchy chocolately manna.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 9:42, Reply)
7/10
However I think you may have bought too many boxes. You may get bored.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 9:48, Reply)
they have
a long shelf life, though. I say 8/10
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 9:53, Reply)
they aren't that great though
the chocolate in them is weird tasting

I'd rather have regular weetabix.

or the far superior toast.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 9:55, Reply)
toast for breakfast is wrong
I've not had chochip weetabix, I just assumed it would be awesome

I remember the great breakfasts of the past: cappucino alpen, banana pops, all lost to low ratings
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 9:57, Reply)
don't be absurd
toast is one of the greatest things in this world or any other.

Breakfast of champions - good quality ham on toast with english mustard and butter and OJ
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 9:59, Reply)
toast is great, I concede
but for breakfast it is too dry. cereal and it's accompanying milk really enlivens the soul
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:01, Reply)
Ganary toast, melted butter and marmite

I could happily have this as my last meal.

Currently I am eating Kelloggs Start, best cereal EVER

you just need to have the appropriate refreshment with your toast
for instance, this morning I got a load of frozen apple, melon, grapes and mandarin, whizzed it into a smoothie with some apple juice and had it with marmite and butter on granary toast.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:08, Reply)
sounds like there's vitamins in that!

(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:09, Reply)
Now smoothie on toast IS wrong.

(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:23, Reply)
You see I was about to agree with you about the toast
but then you spoilt it with all this ham and mustard nonsense. Breakfast toast has to either have marmalade on it, or be dipped in egg.

If you must have pork products on it, then bacon with a bit of brown sauce, or ketchup if you must.

Bloody ham indeed, that's not breakfast that's a picnic.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:18, Reply)
obviously dipped in egg is the pinnacle of toast-use
but I'm a much bigger fan of savoury things than of sweet, so marmalade doesn't do it for me.

I'll have some occasionally, as my mum happens to make the best marmalade ever, but usually I'll go with marmite. Ham is for special occasions. It's a family tradition that Christmas Day starts with ham on toast for breakfast.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:22, Reply)
Buy a jar of chipotle
and spread it thinly on buttered toast like you would Marmite. I'm almost addicted to this.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:24, Reply)
STOP EVERYTHING! I NEED TO STAND UP FOR TOAST
Because that's all I had for breakfast this morning. Toast with marmite does it for me, especially if I can be arsed to set up the coffee machine as well. Admittedly with a gut still periodically expanding from last night's curry, I think anything more elaborate would have been a mistake.

But I like Noel's suggestion of chipotle...

WILL NOBODY THINK OF THE CEREAL?!

(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:28, Reply)
I like cereal.
BUT I WILL NOT HAVE TOAST DISPARAGED.

(Normally I'd have a bit of both for breakfast, but I forgot to buy cereal this week.)
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:29, Reply)
perhaps, then
you could be the one to broker peace between the peoples of cereal land and toast peninsula

Also, I finally watched Charlie Brooker for the first time last night (Newswipe). Absolute genius.

(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 11:42, Reply)
Fishface is a term of endearment I use.
It means I like you. Unless I say it with a frown, or if you have poppy eyes.

You won't need it, you'll piss it!
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 11:47, Reply)
Oh, is it morning
*Looks out the window*

So it is. I guess I should have gone to bed at some point earlier then.

My morning has been averagely fantastic I guess, I re-ripped all my CDs while I watched Smoking Aces 2 earlier but now I need to decide what I'm going to do with my day.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:31, Reply)
You wouldn't believe how wonderful my morning has been
Separate incidents, within seconds of leaving the house for work:
One "beautiful as ever, I see you all the time." Check.
One wolf-whistle from a slowly-passing van. Check.

Now yesterday I had my ex comparing me to a an Aston Martin DB7 Zagato "Looks good from every angle, puts up with anything you do to it and has one of the best arses of all time."
But you have to take that with a pinch of salt, because it's an ex, right, and I bet he says that to all the girls. And the putting up with stuff can be taken two ways!

But all-in-all, I'm feeling a lot less anxious about the big event tonight, because I reckon I have fairies around me or something.
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:35, Reply)
nice work there
with the compliments
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:36, Reply)
the wolf-whistle was from some kind of YTS youth
and he probably shit his knicks when he actually saw my old face, but a wit-woo is a wit-woo and they're hard to come by nowadays.
I'll take it!
(, Fri 29 Jan 2010, 10:38, Reply)
it's all good
good luck for whatever your big event is

time for work for me now...byeee
