The wire
Sopranos
Rescue me
Studio 60
Lost

I'm working my way through Sons of anarchy right now and I love it. Just did season 1 of 30 rock and I'm waiting for more to download, I've got Firefly to watch next, but then I'm all out of stuff to watch. Recommend me more good tv please.

The original 2 mini series are still two of my favourite things ever.
The subsequent TV series was shit though.

but in a good way! The new series is all of the awesome!

Thought "Mmm, shows promise" and have promptly missed every episiode since owing to various circumstances.
Is the mad psycho woman in it the same person that was Miles' flaky girlfriend Delilah in This Life?
(, Wed 26 May 2010, 20:27, Reply)
All the episodes are on the iPlayer if you need to catch up.

Points for every time someone says "Wos goin on", "Cupatea" or "Faaaaamleeee". Do it as a drinking game and you're pissed in half an hour. Magic.

I enjoy House and Glee. Should disqualify me from any reccommendations, if only for the latter.
Watching Martyrs at the moment. Or trying to.

There are a certain stock phrases that you'll hear in an episode of EastEnders about half a dozen times. Since they last half an hour, that's a startling lack of originality, and also the quickest drinking game ever.

is made of win. Grey's Anatomy I also hear good things about but have never seen. I only started watching House for Hugh Laurie *melts* but it's actually rather good. I tried to tell myself that watching it counted as revision; perhaps that's why I got a 2:2...

Like everyone else who has persisted with The Wire I love it. The Sopranos I keep meaning to devote some time to retrying sometime soon but I did enjoy the first two seasons. Rescue Me tucking rocks, and so does Studio 60. Lost I gave up on at 1x05 and having heard the conclusion summary TH that Lampito linked to.it sounds like I didn't miss anything & 24 I lost track of round about 3x12 but am planning a week or two to catch up sometime soon.
Both SOA and 30 Rock are excellent and highly recommended, if you end up enjoying SOA then I would highly recommend The Shield which is by the same writer and thoroughly enjoyable.

It's the reason I won't get Freeview to save money because the Hallmark Channel ain't on Freeview. It rocks. Sometimes I wake up singing the theme tune.

I just wasn't in the mood. The opening credits are so great and ovr the top.
Not bad. Blasting Dead or Alive while sitting in bed, contemplating one more smoke before I turn in. Or maybe stay up til 2 reading the Daily Wh.at or something. How are you?

Monty? Can you hear us?
I reckon he's just got that feeling where someone's walked over his grave. Singing show-tunes and leaving glitter in their wake.

I've just updated my Awesome Spotify Playlist. I need to start sorting out the truly bad, terrible, brilliantly terrible and plain embarrassing.
old-school Muse, Blondie, Major Lazer, Blazin' Squad and Bowie altogehter? Hehehe...
(, Thu 27 May 2010, 0:52, Reply)
Speaking of Spotify, we had pre-drinks last night and put on my 'embarassing but fun' playlist, and it was brilliant. Only one other person in the room knew the names and lyrics of all the shit 90's rock I possess, but that was enough

I'm glad that's going to be on autocomplete.
On the Dark (k)Night (the one where we went out dressed as batman villains) we were singing that but with lyrics like:
I don't liiiiiiike liiiiike
when you're Bruce Wayne when you're Bruce Wayne
I won't miiiiind miiiiind if you put on your mask
put on your damn mask
Because I LIKE YOU SO MUCH BETTER WHEN YOU'RE BATMAN etc

Utterly fantastic. When I came back from the hiccup over Easter, he offerd to buy me coffee and instead of being all "Oh are you ok" just talked to me like a normal person. It was the best thing ever.
that and he gave us about 45 mins of break in the lecture. AWESOME.
Plus: that Hunx song is the gayest thing ever. Watch the video on Youtube for added homosex.

one of my ex-tutors founded the Cambodian Appeal. After my illness he gave me his entire library to have while he was in Indonesia. A total hero.

And lovely. I just have the latin tutor, who looks like he's a recovering party animal, a pintsized personal tutor who loves Harry Potter and references My Big Fat Greek Wedding in relation to her family, a tutor who doesn't understand how to teach undergraduates, and a couple of ones I've never really talked to.
Actually, when I was ill, my friend went up to one of them and told them that Dorothy was ill. She blinked, as there's no one with that name on the register. Whoops.
(, Thu 27 May 2010, 1:58, Reply)
After I was ill, I still had medical problems and mine have just been lovely. Except for the Greek tutor who turned up at the hospital with Being Jane, scented candles and an apology for telling me I was lying when I told her I was ill
