I need your help. As you may or may not remember/care, my beloved mp3 player broke last month, and despite Psychochomp's help remained firmly fucked. The battery on my old one only lasts half and hour and since I walk everywhere in Manchester, I need a new one.
Thing is, I haven't got a fucking clue what I'm looking for. Every player has some rave reviews and some "don't even bother" reviews, so I have no idea whether they're worth the risk.
I'm looking for a 8/16gb mp3 or 4 player, and I don't care if it does anything else besides play music. Can any one recommend any makes or models? Any one who says iPod wins a kick in the face and a mac up the arse.
Alt Q: Tell me about your favourite pair of shoes.

EDIT original 70s stock Adidas shell-toes with the thin tongues and forest green stripes. I lost them on a drug bender in Spain, along with a £300 bracelet, a Diesel watch and my dignity.

but crocs.
they are comfortable and i don't care if they look gay, you don't have to wear the special need ones, you can get the normalish looking ones

I feel sorry for men, a much higher proportion of shoes available for them are ugly than for women.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 16:01, Reply)
Shoes are very important. Pick the right ones, and you will look great, feel great and be lovely and comfy.
Pick the wrong ones and it doesn't matter what else you're wearing, you will look a twat, and mess up your feet.

I gave up on my mp3 player a while back though, when I got my new phone. Does everything I need, with music. Get a Sony Ericsson on contract.
If you're nowhere near ending your contract/willing to buy a new phone, head to Aldi on a Thursday, they'll often have some cracking electrical deals on.
Alt Q: I have a pair of slippers with breasts on. I like breasts.

I agree that those who buy Apple because it's Apple are twatbaskets, but they still have their place. Pretty much every designer I've ever met use Macs.
Then again, most touch kids too
But this is pretty damn funny...

I just really don't like them. They're more expensive purely because of their name and everyone has them. Plus, I don't want itunes. I just want a simple drag and drop
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 15:49, Reply)
And so I can say. I have a Sony Walkman

Just saying, like.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 16:04, Reply)
I got one because I assumed they were great, to be honest I'm more interested in what songs you're listening to than what you're listening to them on.
I loved my ipod til I lost it.

I'm sad I don't get to play pole until October, but hopefully I will have nailed Aysha by then so I won't fail. Is everyone in your class awesome or can we show them up?
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 15:52, Reply)
It varies, I don't know what this new class will be like, but I was probably one of the most advanced in the one before the summer. So you will probably own.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 15:54, Reply)
I don't like it when everyone else can do loads of mad hard stuff, it makes me feel like a spack. More so than normal.

I think we're about the same level and we can both do different stuff so we swap moves. I agree though, I assume the teacher will kick my ass though.

But only slightly and cos you can't do teddybear :)
Yeah, Becky is incredible, AND she does it in trainers half the time.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 16:07, Reply)
I hate Teddybear, it can fuck off. I think people think I'm really advanced because I can do the two handsprings, but I'm still really shaky with brass monkey which some people did from intermediate, so it's swings and roundabouts.

It's proper cute and tiny, it holds loads of music and it's just drag and drop adding music so no fannying around with software. The battery also lasts for ages, I used to only have to charge it about once a fortnight and that was getting using it for 2 hours every day. Plus it's almost indestructable because it's so light, it bounces if you drop it and its faces are 2cm square.
Mine died after 3 years when it fell in the sea :(

I'd steer clear of Sony's outputs - he's been through two models and neither has been particularly edifying.

had a sony, looked cool but slow, the software was very buggy and all in all a poor copy of an ipod
which was a pity as the sound was pretty damn good

Sluggish software (after a few months it would take ages just to boot up) and lousy battery life (decayed after a few months' use). Of course, if yours hasn't encountered these then perhaps said relative was just unlucky.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 16:06, Reply)
mine did survive a 70mph bike crash and being soaked in oil for 24 hours
that might explain the buggy software/general slowness of navigation...

which are black and lacy with a tiny sparkle on them. i was pleased that i could actually walk further than the front door in them, which makes a change. 10/10 for stuart weitzman, would buy again (in cream, this weekend probably, knowing me).

Zune, if you can find one. Otherwise, Creative do some nice ones and the new Sony Walkmans are supposed to sound rather nice.

Generally the non-leather shoes are about 60 quid plus p&p a pair, and as a consequence I only have about three pairs at any time. My current favourites are a reasonably smart tan pair, my first deviation from my "they have to be black" rule. I've now come to regard blue jeans worn with black shoes as slightly unsightly. I just can't decide whether, for me, this is a great leap forward in the stlye stakes, or simply the first steps on the road that will see me dressing all in beige within five years.

It's 8 gigs. Extremely simple, LED screen with zero frills. Get yourself a decent set of headphones and you'll be laughing.
I've had mine since March and even with sweaty ears jogging 3 times a week I've never had a problem. For £38 an absolute bargain and you can also stick 2 fingers up to Apple chunts.
