Is it possible to open an .swf file and mess around with the content?
Or does Flash not work like that? (never used it...)

Basically, I want to hijack these flash buttons and put them on my site...

You can use a flash decompiler that might allow you
but these things are often password protected. Not that that always stops you.

But otherwise, you need the .fla file

I had an swf compiler years ago - I'm sure there are loads around.
Alternatively just make your own in flash -it's an absolute doddle.

You can find a button making tutorial on loads of sites
In fact I suspect Flash has a built in one that makes nicer buttons than those ones.
